I agree that Lena Olin is fantastic, but it’s the family as a whole that makes Alias such a great show. It’s little scenes like the one on the train that reveal just how devastating Irina’s betrayal was. And Victoria Garber expresses that so subtly, it’s brilliant. That entire scene is a masterclass in acting - seeing Jack and Irina let down their guard briefly, seeing how Sydney lights up at the memory, and then, just as quickly, the reality hits home.
