Good stuff!💪🎣 Thanks alot for the shout out enjoy the lures and tackle.I hope you catch some good ones on them👍😁I also made the screw lock weighted hooks.
Hey Sarge, second time I've heard you comment on pin fish, so I though I'd bloviate on what a guide in Rock Port told me. He didn't mention spec's but he did say the Pin's and Red's are natural enemies. When the Red's make out a clear spot to spawn in, the Pin's come in to eat their eggs. He would slightly cut the end of the tail and hook them right behind the dorsal fin. That's all I know and sticking to it.
This is why shore fishing has all but taken me out of fishing until I can afford a kayak. Getting skunked or getting one bite every few hours hurts after a while.
Don't buy anything expensive until you know you're going to like it. Get something that can carry your weight and that of your gear. Hit a protected marsh during windy days and enjoy the beauty of hunting down the fish instead of waiting for them to come to you.
Oh man. Im digging the under armour slippers. Lol. And that darn poopin perch. Hilairious. Love the channel. Every video gets better and better. Great job. Keep it up.
Thank you!
Chanklas and socks! Doesn't get more Southern than that!
@@Losdaman every sunday with My wife and daughter you will find me usually by the water in. Uuu guessed it. Of course the proper attire. I got wallyworld brand tho 😞
That’s how tough marines are!
He said he had been throwing that cast net FOREVER!!! And he was just now getting tired.
Respect

Minimum size for speckled trout is 15". I think you were a bit shy. Where you started used to be great for trout, reds and flounder but wade fishing and not bank fishing. Back fifty years ago I could catch fifty or more trout in a morning and seine up all the small shrimp I needed for a days fishing. Unfortunately with the shrimp boats, oyster boats and intense fishing pressure the fishing is only perhaps one tenth of what it used to be. I had a friend who would go to the causeway and put his boat in there in the evening after work. Go a few hundred yards from there and catch half a dozen big trout in no time at all and then head back home. The very best fishing was the original pier near the north jetty that kept washing away during hurricanes. You could catch eight and nine pound trout off that pier and a couple of hundred pounds of gafftop at night (on cut eel). The best I did was on speckled trout at night under a full moon using cut ribbon fish for bait.
👍
I catch reds and trout at that spot on the other side of the bridge right under the overpass 61st street!!!
Those piggy perches are evil. they make me say the bad words every time they poke me, but it's
a great video Mark. thanks for sharing.
@Modern Savage25 You ain't Bull Shitting, they do.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, and Thank You for a very Informative Video! I am a BOI and learned a few things about artificial baits from your video.
Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, and may you catch your limit every time you go out!
Semper Fi ! ! !
Thank you for your service brother 🤝 great videos as well man.
Try using a mesh laundry bag with some jack mackerel inside. Boat ramps with grass around them or the marsh. You can get plenty of bait. You can find these items at dollar stores. I live by dollar tree and they have it there.
Thank you for your service and video. God Bless you and yours.
Great video bro..
Made me grin to see I'm not the only one who doesn't have the best of luck on that side of Galveston.
I always seem to have better luck from the state park on down to surfside Jetty. That's why I usually find a little pocket beach in Jamaica.
Most of the rarely touched areas have better fishing.
thanks for your time
Well said! I usually bring bread with me so all the bait will feast and I can cast and catch with my net
Great idea
MDLR Fishing thanks!
Thank you for serving. Have been enjoying your kayak vids!
Thanks John!
Cool 👍, back in the Old Miami (60-70), we used to do the same thing in the Key's. We called it a drop line, and as one of 13 siblings, we called it dinner too. ✌️
I was just there the day after Christmas it was awesome. I didn't catch much but was very fun. .
Very hard to fish this spot. There's not much structure for the fish and it's DEEP.
Semper Fi Brother! I enjoy your channel and content. I’m up in Pearland, so I’ll try to find some of the locations where you are successful. Thank you!
Bro, first 5 seconds of the video I thought that dude is a salty Marine 😂 semper fi brother! Going to Galveston for a week in June. Would love to meetup one of those days.
Just found this video. Thank you for your service.
What you call a piggie perch we call pinfish in Mississippi and they are great baits for reds and specs
That little area off 61st, I've never caught anything there. An old man who lives in that community was walking by and we talked he says he has the hardest time catching anything in that area.
Not beginners luck with the trout. Most people don't know but you can catch trout and other fish from those rock groins during the winter. Enjoyed the video! You are a great dad!
Thanks brother!
Haha yes I learned that this past cold front...👌🏽🎣
It's all always hard to catch any fish down there when the Biker rally is going on.😬
seanfishingtexas yea man they really disturb the peace 😂😂😂
I'm sure a lot of people caught crabs....:)
😂
Bank fishing in a nut shell.
😂 yup
Looks like Offatts Bayou! I haven't fished that spot in a while. It can actually be good for flounder around that time of year.
Good morning Devildog...Today were doing that Veteran Giveaway 3Day Guided Hunting Trip for this weekend.
Nice vid! Can't wait to get back out there to catch some flounder!
At 8:45 that’s my spot I always go to lol I wish I could’ve went when you were out there !
Good o bank fishing. I had luck with catching bait right after the bayou vista exit. There’s a lil bridge with current running thru it. Had got shrimp mullet n shad there. There’s rocks n oyster so gotta pull the net up pretty quick
thanks
I never had any luck there on 61 street 👍
It’s a dead area every time I pass through there with the kayak.
New subscriber will be moving to the freeport area in a couple months cant wait to get out there and fish
Daaaaaaaaamn! Nice set up! Everything from the rod sleeves and your truck! Do you have a video on how you put all that together? Good fishing brother! Salutations from So Cal baby!
Thanks 🙏 I do have a video for the truck rack. It’s called “Boonedox Outfitter Double Kayak Rack”
I’m surprised you’re not targeting flounder since the run is on
I was by bouncing off the bottom and retrieving painfully slow.
Hi Mark..it’s been awhile I haven’t been able to catch up with you
That was a good fishing video. We were at Moses Lake this past weekend.
I been there
Happy birthday Devil Dog!!
Rah!
Hermit crabs and shrimp seem to be the best baits for those sheepshead.
Nice fish great vid! Thanks for sharing!
And that's why you now have a kayak. 😁
yeah It's much easier to hunt them down.
Big shout out from Sarasota and good video bro
Happy Birthday Marine!
Rah!
There's no feeeesh!!
Jk, great video sir.
I want to hit the smiley faced island off the end of Tiki Island in my kayak soon.
Thank you for your service and your videos!
Hi, I'm one of your subscribers and I enjoy your videos. I live in Houston too. But it would be much more helpful if you mention what spots and locations you're fishing at everytime you move location to location. Your title only says Galveston Banks Thanks,
Dan, I do tell every location in great detail on my Patreon page. If you’re interested please check it out. The link to it is in my video description.
Thats bait fishing for me. Dont know what you where trying to catch with the net.. Seems like your not equip for big fish such as bullreds. Big mullet, croaker, and sand trout is the cut bait of choice for bank fishing.
I'm using my 1/4 inch net for smaller bait, like finger mullet.
@@MDLRFishing ok. Here is a great spot for finger mullet. Put your waders on. Drive like your going to park at Freeport Jetty. Then turn right on the road before you go straight to the parking area. There will be a rock wall along the coast line. At the end of it towards the jetty side there is small beach area. Where the rocks end and become beach there is always alot of finger mullet swimming in and out of the rocky area.
try catching some mullet at the boat ramp by bubbas bait shop
Hey cool video man! 👍🏻
Great videos just found you. Vacationing at surfside next month and was wondering if you had a suggestion for rod length/ action for fishing both the jetties and possibly on the beach as well?
Good content, fishing with your son. With bank fishing, live or dead bait would have been the ticket.
most definitely.
U need to be patient not throw it and get it out in 10 seconds
What editing program do you use Mark? Thanks in advance .
Final Cut Pro

Where you was just at there’s crab for reds
Nice Video! I like your rack setup on the back of your truck. It looks like it can extend out to hold different size kayaks. Did you have that custom made at a specialty shop?
I bought two Boonedox Outfitters and made this rack fit both cradles side by side.
Y'all need to come to New Mexico and fish we got some great species here no oceans but big lakes
As soon as I can start traveling that might be a future video.
Take you a can of cheap catfood, mix it with sand in a bucket with a spoon, sling it out in front of you just before you throw that net. Scoreboard!!!
Liked. Curtis Mayfield
Semper Fi brother.
Rah!
beach front speck in Nov uh
Mrs delarosa is my teacher

Mark, I want to try to fish there? Wherr exactly is this location at the seawall? Can you fish on all the rocks along seawall blvd?
yes you can fish all the rock groins along the seawall.
Nice fish
Which lure is the sheepshead killer?
Atomic DD crank bait or the Strike King Bitsy Minnow.
Semper Fi
I hope to buy a kayak soon. I am from Houston. I just subscribed.
Thank you 🙏 and welcome to the channel! Please tell all your fishing friends about me.
Is that offetts bayou
yes
have you kayaked those marshes around bayou vista with any success?
yes but you have to really grind it out most of the time. I get lucky once in a while and have a great day sometimes.
I got a few sharks right there best place 2 fish is right there people
And the the bubbagump is the best shrimp gumbo

Do you need a fishing license to bank fish in Galveston?
😂love the avatar. Yes you need a license.
If that spec was a keeper it was barely
Would you mind sharing this location sir? I knw galveston but probly the name of the place maybe?? Nice vid.. Thank you and have a good one
Offatts Bayou. Very deep and very protected from wind. Great place to fish in the dead of winter.
