Wat een hoop geluk voor zo’n simpele oplossing.

This was standard on the 3 litre models. I retro fitted it to my 2.2, and it sounds as good as this. I kept 1/2 a sponge in, and it sounds just right to me, the perfect balance between engine, intake and exhaust noises. Love it!

@@krazykeith6001 I didn’t know it could be retrofitted, that’ll be very insightful for others to know! Did you cut half of the large sponge then? It is an absolutely glorious noise, seems like you have the perfect balance if you can still hear the engine note too!

Having a m54 2.5 and did the retrofit on it - you need the boot from the 3.0 aswell as the auxiliary parts like clamp ... - Taking out both sponges is a bit too much for me. The one close to the firewall is enough. Another experiment could be cutting the other one, just to give it a bit more sound :)
Here is a list of parts needed, they may come together:
    13747514863 Soundgenerator
    13719071782 Tensioner
    13747518282 Supporting Bracket
    11611705032 Head Screw
07129952121 Clamp (should be provided with soundgenerator)
    13747514864 Soundpipe
    13717514865 Grommet
    13547514867 Rubber Boot
