Pete Astudillo is a very humble man most people don't know, but he wrote a lot of hits for Selena, and even for Grupo Mazz, Kumbia Kings. Thats why his worth 18 million a year more than a local doctor. Dude still humble and not a sign of cockiness or rudeness always nice to everyone. Big ups Laredo represent. 🙏

Genetics affect how fast your skin will show signs of aging (basically, the more melanin you have the better you’ll age) but how you take care of yourself also matters greatly. Unhealthy lifestyle choices affect the aging process greatly. If you party hard when you’re young, drink, smoke, have a poor diet, etc. all of these things will take a toll on you as you age. Stress can also affect how fast you develop signs of aging. While I don’t doubt that Pete may have things that cause him stress, money and all the little things that stress out the average person don’t affect him because he’s rich. He has the money to hire people to take care of things for him, cook him healthy food, and keep him in shape. He can also afford the best doctors, including dermatologists, to take care of his body.
Women are more prone to certain health conditions, like osteoporosis post-menopause, but that doesn’t really affect appearance and how sexy you are 50. More importantly, be mindful that men don’t get told for their whole lives that they need to be pretty and that all their value is largely based on how young and good they look. They don’t have the same _level_ of pressure to look a certain way whereas women are consistently the target audience for things like anti-aging products, hair dye, and makeup. If you hold people up to different standards then yeah, the one that receives less criticism and pressure put on them can get away with more - it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re just inherently better. There’s plenty of men that age poorly and many start losing hair in their 20s or getting beer guts by their early 30s, but nobody really says anything because there’s less pressure on them to look 20 forever.

I accidentally ran across this interview and glad I did. I had wanted to listen to an interview with Pete. He was an incredible part of the entire story of Selena y Los Dinos. I would live fir you to interview Chris, and he does interviews with so many people because he wants to keep Selena’s memory alive. If you have not read Chris’ book, it is very good. This was great! I refuse to watch it because I will NOT contribute to putting money in her family's accounts. They mostly Abraham refuse to let her husband put out a series, they refused to consult with him about thr series, and will sue him if he tries. Plus the shit looks corny. How many movies and shows do we need to see about the woman's life.

That’s crazy , had he not gone to play at a flea market ,the next several events wouldn’t have propelled him to play with Sel and to the other amazing opportunities. It’s wild . That’s a life lesson , don’t ever think somethings too small or insignificant to do . It may get you where you need to be .

Love this interview. I like how he says that they put Laredo in the series. Nice Pete, you are a great example of a good Laredoan, but the series shows how a local radio station had control of a ballroom and the radio. How sad to still see this in Laredo.

I hate the fact that she didn’t really like live the life she wanted like she did but she never got to do the part she wanted the most but the thing is, is that her siblings got to live there life after she died and maybe just maybe if Yolanda didn’t shoot her like right in her bone (I think that’s where she shot her) she would have been here today

I’m not trying to be hateful, I appreciate what you do so I hope it doesn’t come across this way but I have watched the AB interview and now this one and I have to be honest your friendship with AB has definitely effected the way you bring up Chris like he is a/ the negative. That isn’t fair to him.
Lies or not whole truths in AB’s interview can easily be debunked. Chris was part of the band for 5-6 years. That is 23% of her entire life. 30% of her career as a whole, and 100% of her adult life. Also the movie was/did concentrate heavily on Selena and a big part of Selena was Chris. I just have to say the movie runs for 2 hrs and 3 mins, the Chris and Sel story line is 1 hr and 5 mins of that (keep in mind the others are there too) there is 57 mins and 34 second that there is no Chris at all. The difference is 7 mins and 56 seconds. You have to be super arrogant and petty to be upset about that especially when you family not Chris was the one onset every single day and approved or didn’t approve what went in. Abraham spoke of reservations he had but in the end he was like ok fine.
I get that losing someone you love is the hardest thing you can go through. As a parent I know the same is true and then some for your child. I also know what it’s like to have family drama. And I pray that they can work it out. Unfortunately it looks like it needs to be legally settled and then hopefully everyone can just put it to rest and find a way to move forward with if nothing else respect. I know Chris wants that, it is very clear he lives on the high road. I’m not saying he is perfect no one is and he has had a few moments where he has posted out of character because we all have that point we can be pushed to. The Q’s are not being fair or respectful to Selena or her memory in what they have done to Chris. I don’t know him personally but I have heavily researched and spoke with many people and I am confident in this.
If you love someone so much you go against your father whom you love very much and risk the career you have worked for along with that person (in this case Chris), to risk it all you have to love someone pretty deeply. It isn’t fleeting. Put some respect in that. Chris and Selena’s love story while beautiful no doubt wouldn’t be this epic love story every one wants to know and idolizes if it weren’t for Abraham being against them from the moment he found out and how he reacted so really can he really be mad that people care so much? You do what you have to do for love. When you find the one, the person worth trading anything and everything for it is a beautiful thing. Selena was beautiful, kind, funny, talented, and just a really good person she deserved to find that love in her short life. What she had with Chris some people don’t find in a lifetime and I for one won’t ever take anything from them on that.
Lastly, the fans are what keep pushing Selena’s legacy and memory forward and onto the next generation and the next. We are out here by the millions demanding and craving more from Chris because the family not Chris has done things along the way to make us feel some type of way. The only bad thing I ever hear about Chris in the negative isn’t even something he did wrong, it’s the Selena and Chris forever effect. Again not that he is perfect but that he tries. He tends to be super careful with his words for the most part. He is kind to her fans. He has shared her with us in really beautiful way. We are also fans of his. Chris is incredibly talented and humble which if you think about it makes since to why Selena fell in love with him. He didn’t need to dull her shine to elevate himself. He doesn’t walk this earth taking credit for her success. He was and is happy to support her and keep that crown straight and shined! It’s actually a really beautiful thing.
This is already pretty long so one last thing not on Chris or the drama of a family. Every last person in that band, Selena y Los Dinos worked their ass off. They wrote, collaborated, and performed together. The all deserve their portion of credit. No one just walked onstage and only played their instrument. That being said Selena is the one part none of it worked without. All those songs have been covered and I hate to be so brutally honest but they are all trash. I didn’t even like it when the Kumbia Kings did it. I’m not the only one I run a Selena fan account and am friends with other large account we all agree on that one point. Selena had the “it” in spades, she could sing you the phonebook and it would be a hit. Her voice, they way she made you feel the words, even if you didn’t understand the words for those of you non Spanish speaking fans. I can’t support anyone saying different no matter the part you play in the legacy of Selena she is not just a pretty package, she worked hard, she performed (singing and dancing), she had to learn fluent Spanish to do the hundreds of interviews, she from adolescence had to shoulder the responsibility of being good enough to put food on the table (AB and Suz too) but without Selena it was futile, think of the pressure that puts on her from the age of 11 when her parents restaurant closed and they hand nothing. Put respect on her name. The music of Selena is just words on paper without Selena.
Chris, Ab, Pete, Ricky,Joe, Suzette,Mr & Ms Q here are your flowers too. I’m not discrediting your part. You all stood/ performed behind and along side her and were the people she loved most in this world and that is something we can all thank you for, for loving Selena and helping bring her to the world, to the stage so that she could sing and perform her way into our hearts.
