Imagine this level of build up you got from a few arcs, combined with every other arc to come, over the course of 25+ years, and 1,000s of chapters/episodes, all paying off at once, and that's the peak we are currently experiencing in both the manga and anime at this current time.

Yesss!! The one peak is real!! 😭 I'm usually not the expressive type, especially when watching shows or films, so I'm kinda envious of reactors like you guys for that. I'm pretty stoic, and no other shows have made me cry except for One Piece and Miracles in Cell #7(Korean film) 😭 Not exaggerating, but only these two have broken the dam in my eyes 🙈 I remember the first time I watched One Piece, I told myself, "oh don't be ridiculous, it's just an anime", but I still couldn't hold back 😅 Anyway, it's great to share the same feelings with you guys 🥹 More power to you! 🙏🏻
We all agree the live action was great... considering live action standards, as well as the limitation of time and length of the show... It might not seem like much but the extra characters like Johny and Yosaku, the extra time to build up bit by bit the background of the characters and HOW we get to the peak of each arc, how they give us the time in between episodes to sink in.... it all builds up to these peak moments... and also all these peak moments in turn add up to the HUGE peak arcs...
This is the moment everybody says... get to that episode and if you still don't like the show give up... but if you are thinking of giving up before getting here just try a bit longer...
I think ep 7 of the LA did the important moments well, they nailed the help me, while it felt lack luster for the rest which is why its my 2nd least liked episode of the season as a adaptation. Like you said many fans feel the kobi moments if removed would of given time for more bellemere and the *walk to arlong park* , the boys roll up, the hype train coming in. But I get it. It does feel a tiny bit weird for me in the help me moment in the LA compared to the anime with luffy in the help me moment, because he says he doesnt know back to nami in the LA when he does know and luffy doesnt lie ever upto this point, but he will go along with others lies to trick enemies. You can say he was just consoling her and saying things but that isnt luffy, he's blunt and brutally honest. Arlongs laugh isnt in the LA, it was bouncing between his speech to his crew and lead up to help me. But it was excellent, the music cuts to only the wind howling through a empty town, the extra layers of nami hitting rock bottom that the LA didnt have with nami confronting arlong, as he adds more threats and stakes then the town charging to their deaths.
You will come to learn the different "motifs" in terms of thematic writing, gags, manner of expression, ost in terms of the anime, etc that each Strawhat has over the next 1000+ chapters, in terms of how Oda draws and writes them (with the anime adapting that ofcourse). One of my favourites when it comes to Nami is how Oda draws her eyes, especially in emotionally intense moments be it happy or heavy. Oda does a great job of making use of Nami's big beautiful eyes, and it is most evident in this arc. It's amazing honestly. Also, cutting out "Which one of you is Arlong?" in the edit is mad business😭😭😭. Respectfully, I hope your mods can help recommend certain moments that most of your viewers will probably wanna see as part of the reaction, in their entirety, even if you guys had nothing to say during those moments. There are certain moments that seem to have a consensus in terms of how beloved they are by One Piece fiends like myself who are on re-reads and rewatches, and probably watch about 5 OP reactors at a given time on average. And I'd bet most of your viewers are OP fiends. Anywho, great reaction as always!!! Till the next drop
Nami’s eyes were one of the first things we noticed going into this arc that helped show what her true feelings were. We loved that Oda was able to convey that so well❤️
