No vaping is a perfectly fine rule to have. Excessive vaping can wreak havoc on HVAC systems and any electronics that have cooling systems that rely on a fan. That exhaled vapor has to go somewhere, it doesn't just disappear. It will get sucked into any and everything that has suction, such as air returns, ceiling fan blades, laptop computers, etc. That vapor eventually reconstitutes into a sticky gluelike substance that ruins anything it gets inside of.

HOST WAS 100% WRONG TO SEND A PHOTO TO A NONREGISTERED GUEST. Other than that, the booking guest was in the wrong. The female presenter understands nothing about Airbnb and didn't care enough to educate herself because she's already biased. Airbnb house rules are available before check-in. If guest didn't agree with rules, he could have cancelled. You don't make an agreement with someone, accept the goods/service and then say "oops, changed my mind, I got what I wanted but NOW I've decided I don't like your rules after all, so I'm not paying." How would this lady like it if someone was supposed to pay her for something who had all the facts and conditions in advance, and then once they got what they wanted, said "F*** your rules, I don't agree so I'm not paying"? And FYI: hosts stop allowing locals after some visited, scoped out the place and came back to rob it; and they do not trust guests after they've had people lie in reviews for revenge, break and/or steal things in the unit, stain linens with nail polish and hair dye, blow up microwaves by putting metal in them and so much more craziness that you couldn't even begin to imagine! ALSO internal cameras are illegal. If anyone commits a crime against you, report it, not cry foul against the platform that brought you together. Airbnb isn't the largest hosting platform in the world because the majority of hosts are criminals.

Employers don't allow employees to vape in their businesses. Airlines don't allow people to vape in their planes. Uber & Lyft drivers don't allow people to vape in their vehicles. All with valid reasons.

What you put in them is called juice. It's a very sticky solution that can contain a flavor, scent, varying levels of nicotine, CBDs, THC or Synthetic THC and many unknown chemicals. When vaporized and breathed out it is still sticky but now contains anything the user has in their lungs. Like bacteria, viruses, parasites and mucus. Basically it is taking part of the lung, mouth, nose and mucus biome and adhering it on anything the vapor touches. You know like secondhand cigarette smoke. "defund" just simplified it to " odors and slime".😉

Try cleaning the walls in a room that’s been regularly ‘vaped’ in.
The walls have an oily residue.
My son vaped in his room with the door closed (because I didn’t like the smell of the flavour he liked). When he moved out I cleaned the room but the smell remained. While washing the walls I realized the residue wasn’t coming off. It took commercial restaurant grease cutter to wash the walls! Which meant I also had to wash the ceiling. By that time I gave up. Washed everything and repainted.
So I completely understand ‘no vaping’. Vaping isn’t much different than smoking for leftover remaining odours.

When you smoke or vape you can't smell it , vaping is 100 times worse than smoking, it smells like your burning paint or chemicals and lasts longer in the room. But its really easy if the property owner say no smoking or vaping and you want to vape or smoke, DON'T STAY THERE, is that hard? Btw you can't smoke or vape in a hotel either unless they have a smoking/vaping room.

None of that is true. And no, I don't "vape". But I am a chemist. Both propylene glycol and glycerin have relatively low boiling points compared to more traditional pollutants like tobacco tar. When heated in a vape device, they vaporize and, when exhaled, they return to their liquid form at a much quicker rate than the combustion byproducts of traditional cigarettes. Due to their chemical properties, PG and VG readily absorb moisture, which aids in their quick dissipation in the air. However, here might be a psychological component, such as confirmation bias, where individuals who have preconceived negative attitudes towards vaping might be more likely to notice or report a smell. They could also be associating any unfamiliar smell with vaping if they know it occurs in their environment. The persistence and noticeability of vapor smell can also depend on environmental factors such as room size, ventilation, humidity, and the amount of dust present. The must smell is not from the vapor, but from the dust in the air mixed with humidity, while as Some flavor compounds in vape juices might have musty or earthy components that could be perceived as musty. THat doesn't mean they linger or stick around. They dissipate almost immediately unlike cigarette smoke which clings to everything.

People dont have respect, they don't care about ur shit and most of these air bnbs are really expensive houses that are furnished with nice furniture and tvs. The last one I stayed at had places u couldn't park in because they shared a parking lot with a buisness. Completely acceptable. Vapes do have nicotine in them and if u advertise smoke free then it needs to be smoke free, what if someone is allergic to nicotine or just don't want to stay somewhere that allows it.

I love airbnb and I love the rules of no smoking and vaping. Honestly their rules are not that bad. They are renting "their property" to a complete stranger and they need to be able to know that There isn't going to be any parties, Random people there and the place is respected so that when they leave the place is ready for the next guest. They want people to make sure their there for Friendly gatherings and Family time. Not throw a huge party and possible wreck the house or bother neighbors. As for the no Locals. I believe that is because they don't want you to invite people you don't know to their property. If you don't know them, then you can't trust them not to rob, trash or steal from the owners property...only invite people you KNOW...it's respectful. Why this reporter lady thinks all this is strict rules is crazy. It's called boundaries and respect, go to a Motel if you want to invite large groups of people and random locals over.....
