Bone Thugz is from here in OHIO! I also really liked Cliff Savage. I like that you gave him his props. Not everyone has been appreciating his style as much.
He was FLOWIN!!!!!

Cliff Savage responded again!
I love when actual rappers understand a challenge.
CJ Fly been underrated for his bars! He a real spitta
Thanks for these reactions! I really enjoy hearing how the songs hit you! It’s all happening 🔥
Thank you, WHW! I've got another tomorrow.
I've really enjoyed following the way that this competition is evolving. Great coverage on this channel
Thanks for tuning in!
" thats gotta be ray vaughn " lmaoooo took me out
Justin you missed the other "static/nappy roots" entendre. When our hair gets nappy it creates a lot of static electricity when picked/combed out from the roots by plastic combs/picks.
Salute to what you do for the culture 🫡. Carolina boy to Carolina boy.
Nice catch!! Represent!
justin from carolina?! ok ok. we in here nc reppin
Wow I didn’t know that! I grew up in NC, country boys unite haha!
Facts, really good triple entendre
What part?
I like this better than Joey's responses, but I don't quite get the "show us respect" lines when Joey was the one that jumped out and dissed the West and even Daylyt's track was about showing respect to NY. So what we talkin' bout? We're all supposed to show NY respect but it only goes one way? NY started it, but the other coasts have kept it alive as well and have taken it to places NY couldn't for the longest.
I dont get the whole argument that the east hasn't had a sound.
Everything the past decade has been east coast samples but the bass tempo is pharma-ed out and the sound is slower.
The west used to be faster than Miami bass on the BPM. Now the west beats been sounding like junkies.
@NicS_313 I think the argument is more that they haven't had someone reppin NY that was at the forefront.
@@shotbyfabi I agree. It’s about The East not having a Frontman (or woman).
The gaslighting is crazy
I don’t see the west coast dick licking bar to be any more “wild” than Kendrick calling himself the king of New York, and I vividly remember the WC laughing about that shit for weeks 🤷🏾♂️ I bet Kendrick didn’t feel no way about it
still, calling Ray Vaughn Scrappy Doos was INSANE ! No matter how many times i hear it
I can see where CJ is coming from 😂🤷🏾♂️
@@romaretaylor9953 it's hilarious lmaoo
Little pup keep barking for attention, look like Scrappy Doo
The bars just lukewarm and the raps is cute
Hands up, you don't want no static with your nappy roots
No reindeer games, might get nuclear when the button in
Could squabble up like we share a pod, why is you butting in?
Whole segment of the song was fire
@@ptyten9718reference to a cartoon hair and joe budden not original and weak honestly
@@jimboshrump I agree but Ray Vaughn's song had a lot of corny lines too so I think it's one of those things we have to know comes with this shxt, mfs are gonna spit corny stuff sometimes 😂

Shout out to Cliff Savage!

KDOT WILL NOT RESPOND PERIOD BUT IM LOVING THE BATTLES IT REMIND ME OF THE OLD DAYS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
THEY ARE RAPPING, AGAIN! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
EVERY TIME I SEE RAY VAUGHN NOW ALL I SEE IS SCRAPPY DOO LOL
Cliff Savage definitely gained a new listener with me. That was 🔥
Both tracks is 🔥🔥
That show guns bar might also got some to do with when Lupe showed Royce his gun collection before he dissed him lol
Yeah, yeah, yeah! Cliff Savage made it. He was very clever and playful, but stll hit the mark, on his response, just ☄☄☄☄☄☄☄. Just enjoyable.
CJ's response is cool...much better than both of Joey's tracks. The "cat's got your tongue" line from Joey...confused as to why Kendrick would stop his plans to respond to mid.
I think it’s also possible Joey was talking about himself in that part too as he waited a week or so to drop again.
Cool is underselling tbh.
The track clearly had the most high level lyricism and wordplay so far, CJ is just irrelevant rn so ppl don't know but he put on the best performance easily. The West Coast artists' responsed aside from Daylyt were mostly carried by energy and aggression lol, the bars were few and far between.
@@ptyten9718 Ray's song had bars and energy. You're choosing not to recognize them.
@@slymcfly123 Ray's track barely had any bars what are ya'll talking about? 💀
Not to mention it had nothing even close to CJ's wordplay, ya'll just gassed it because bro rapped loud lol.
@ptyten9718 Ray Vaughn had many bars. I bet you're from the east coast, aren't you? Smdh
Kendrick not responding to mysonne back in the day pissed me off cause that og crazy with bars and I’m glad u reacted to cj fly response cause he been dope but no mainstream songs so he’s overlooked
The nerd in me hates to see people keep missing the Last Airbender Appa scheme and the Harry Potter Slythrin word play in Cliff Savage’s response.
SAME!
My people! 😂💯
The tomato ab lib !! 😂😂
As a fan of lyricist, this is amazing to see. I love Sorry Not Sorry eventhough it's not a diss. I think Wars and Rumors of Wars is a great sleeper, but HIYU has to be the best song so far this year
Turning into a royal rumble
CJ Fly response is dope Justin I actually like this better than all of em including Joey. Cause his pen game is sharp and good references, callbacks. Never realized how short Ray Vaughn is until he stands Right next to his car.
Agreed on all fronts.
Lyricism was on point fr
Knox Hill Drake diss is 🔥
Don’t forget about Coast Contra.
Joey respects and is a fan of kendrick this came from him self this is just competition its all happening.
He’s letting it be the known the east can hold their own too. People forget pro era was lethal. They were 10 deep and all of them could spit.
2:54 Scrappy Do raw tho
He’s the bravest out of everybody. My sister calls me Scrappy Doo because I’m short but very protective of others and feisty (her words). 😂😂
There's only one Shogun I respect and that's Sho'nuff, The Shogun of Harlem! 😂😂😂 #Classic
This shit is dope..the song..and the back and forth...as long as the brothers keep it about the craft...no violence...I'm all for it...west is up..but the east is gaining momentum..will we hear from the south?...will J.Cole respond...we got drake on mute...stay tuned....I'm been around 54 cycles..a real hip hop head and still dope emcee..I really sig these young cats vibe and energy...both sides..wish em well...and benevolent life and outcome..dope shit
@The Company Man I love this sparing we need this for the culture
This gonna leave me stuck cause i like all these guys smh 😂
These two responses are precisely the reason why competition is so good for Hip Hop. Joey needs to follow up, period.
Just go and make them hits that you not making, without hating - Ray Vaughn
Just go and make then hits that you not making without hating - a dude with no hits
Ya'll will gad anything up istg, this is by far the easiest era to impress folks cause the standards are in the dirt 😂
@@ptyten9718 You leave negative comments about the West Coast and its artists under every comment, your obsession is visible. Ray Vaughn was talking about Joey who went to Kendrick about the hits, not about himself. I love how the East coast demands respect for them and the artists, but shows no respect for anyone else. This is a classic of your egocentrism.
@@magienoirediana nah he’s right that line coming from Ray to Joey can easily be flipped back on him in a response, if Kendrick or someone way bigger than Joey said that it would hit different
@@magienoirediana Bro I feel you but it's undeniable than it was a somewhat corny line. Respect to Ray Vaughn but he literally has zero hits & Joey is a more popular artist than him based on every available metric. It doesn't matter why Ray said what he said, it is just undoubtedly weird to say.
4:50 shogun is also a recent daylyt and ichiban project, another entendre
That's RIGHT!!!
I dont think modern day audiences realize how much of the "golden era" (80s-90s) included subliminal rivalries in some of the biggest hits of the era. Its an undeniable element of this thing of ours. But to hear creativity and direct shots at the same time hits WAY DIFFERENT!
I felt the wave of the spitters coming back to the front lines building for the last 6-7 years, i'll admit I had no idea how it was going to manifest, but I knew a major shift came around 2022.
It has to be said in many ways New York lost its support system, its identity, and clout all at once so i think the regional approach will always come off salty. Underneath that; the spirt of competition and style this exhibition brings out is exciting.
Where the west has had a leg up historically is that its NEVER stopped having a robust underground scene (imo supported by the fact that tons of major entertainment compines are headquarted and i imagine heavily invest in finding the "next big thing"). I say ths to say Its hard to deny the "underground" has always been where the real talent in hip hop cuts its teeth and grows its wings.
Long winded story cut short, idk that Joey is the guy to lead this charge to revive the city, but at least he had the nuts to pop out.
Why CJ not mix that ish down properly smh
Fr bro cause he actually spazzed on that shxt, it just sounds weird.
Bro!!!!!! Plz mix this shit😢 it could be better!!! Don't cheat Us, with this cheap shit I spend too much 💰 to get this cheap shit. But it's all love, In The West we get it out the MUD, Young Blood I like your flows.Just be more 💯 with the craft sounds make it 💯 for us the fans.
None of the east coast tracks ive heard so far have been mixed properly!! They all sound tinny af!!😬😬
It's horrible so it's distracting like cat got your tongue. The king is booked, busy, and blessed!
it's not a clout chase it's a showcase!
13:17 I agree with u on this but if you really want to talk about putting the pen first and the art first New York has had the best lyricists for a while they are just not in the limelight from Billy Woods to Rome Streets to Mach Hommy
Roc, YOD, Skyzoo, etc.
Ppl just sleep because they ain't mainstream and it's sad.
@@ptyten9718
Came to drop in Marci too 🫡 and RIP KA
I’ll give you tht but it’s a lot of rap artist Thts way better then New York rappers. They just get like you said the limelight. I’m 70’s baby and seen it from the beginning without the west coast the rap game would have died. So before N.W.A the rap game was just another fad. east coast was more political and party rap. But when N.W.A dropped they put the street in it. So from tht point on Thts the angle we rap from no matter what they say about N.W.A. You don’t get the artist you have now and tht came after without the west coast.
@mayjaaudio6539 that's a interesting point of view some of my favorite rappers are from the west. The west coast is definitely the reason for what gangster rap became but raping about the street was always a thing since the song "the message" was made street culture and criminal culture are not always the same
Still haven't heard anything better than Mick tbh
Really appreciate your coverage of these tracks. The Eastcoast need to give me something i can feel though. Everything is ok but im not excited
Nobody cares about your excitement bro, CJ and Daylyt were super clever lyrically and wordplay wise. If you into that then you were excited.
If you just into mfs rapping loud just because then you ain't gon get that from the Pro Era dudes.
@ptyten9718 You sound pathetic
CJ Fly caught me off guard with the Wildfire line
🐺
Ray Vaughn still the MVP so far. I like SyTheRapper’s response more than Cliff. I probably got Ray at #1 Daylyt at #2, Curtis King #3, SyTheRapper - Undercover Hater #4, then CJ Fly joint #5, then Lit Papi - Friend or Joe #6, then Joeys original song #7, then Cliff Savage #8, then Joey Sorry Not Sorry in the bottom slot at #9.
Curtiss King at #3 is absolutely insane 💀
Not having Mick Jenkins on this list is wild.
@@TrizollinTehWorldlegitimately a horrible list lol, he clearly has West Coast bias 😂
West coast bias leaking thru bubba
@@ptyten9718Curtis king really reaching.. only dissed Joey for "content"
God I hope Griselda drops tracks for NY
Conway and Benny incredible MCs
Joey ain’t never wrote nothing better than Rome Streetz. Would love Rome to battle for the NYC Crown.
They’re not because to a certain extent they are not viewed or look at as New York rappers even though Buffalo is in the state of New York.
The CapCut Demon CJ Fly
Waves is also Joey’s first big song

To 5 year old that hasnt heard real rap before maybe
I just looked up CJ Fly and he's in the Sorry Not Sorry Music Video just realized
@@jimboshrump you saying this and Joey NOT being a lyricist is asinine 😂 idgaf if you west west or not rayvaughn lyrically ain’t getting CJ out of nowhere, or the majority of pro era tbr lmao
Lyrically wise CJ's track has been easily the best so far, the wordplay and the bars were on point.
Edit: s/o to Curtiss King for recognizing it despite his West Coast bias.
Lol are you serious?
I mean that’s your opinion so cool, but I think the majority would say Ray Vaughn song is killing both of Joey’s songs and CJ’s.
@@daweeza42 extremely glad I'm not in the majority then. Ray Vaughn's track was the perfect example of a tune getting gassed up because it was rapped with conviction and aggression lol.
I'm talking about actual lyricism and wordplay, Ray's track is honestly not even close to CJ's and I'm not even a fan of him like that lol. I get it tho mfs glazing the West Coast rn 😂
@ Lol I hear yay, and honestly all tracks have been good from both coast. But Ray most certainly had lyrics as well in my opinion.
But if this is battling and it is…you need some aggressive. That laid back 💩 ain’t going to cut it if you want the W.
You make it seem like Vaughn wasn’t spitting like he was just yelling WEST COAST IS THE BEAST COAST FOOL!!! Lol he definitely was spitting.
@@daweeza42 been repeating this for days it feels like. Ray's best bar was aimed at the canadian dudes, some of the angles were nonsensical (go make the hits that you not making from a dude with no hits to a dude who's bigger than him is insanely corny) and overall I just disagree bro, the lyricism was not impressive. I def agree on the energy front tho his delivery was cool.
Honestly perplexed at ppl dudes gassin that when Daylyt and Mick Jenkins dropped better responses.
@ Lmao and what hits Joey got…
I’m sorry I hear what you’re saying about go make a hit regarding Vaugn, but how many actual hits does Joey have and obviously CJ has as many hits as Ray.
To be honest nobody involved has any hits.
I know the likelihood is 2% and that’s being generous, but if Kendrick actually got into a friendly with Joey, that would make my whole year.
Cliff Savage beast Mode, let the young artists out, open the flood gate. This is hip-hop however New York stuck in time with the gangster shit. Everyone isn’t gangster and I don’t want to here that shit. The west is funny and bringing a new style.
This is the lyricism that hip hop has been missing, so I thank Joey for putting the call out. In my opinion they’re gonna have to come harder if they want the belt back. It is firmly in the hands of the west in my opinion. It’s all happening‼️
Cliff Savage has already responded to joey. I hope you listen to this one. It's called "in a bag" and it's on his youtube channel
CJ FLY has the best track representing the east coast right now! His track is much better than both of Joey tracks. I like him!
Give back to the people react to this 🔥 Atlanta Los Angeles

Joey actually responded to Mick Jenkins on sorry not sorry, I just made a video about it!

This is what Joey was supposed to do. CJ Fly understands the assignment. Joey does not.
As a Kendrick fan, Drake was at the “top” of the game for years. Kendrick got it clearly, but Joey want to diss now.
Joey just pulled a control on the West
There's another diss track by Sy the Rapper towards Joey.
Shoutout to BTNH they still my fav group!
I’m happy that you’re covering all these back and forth tracks, but I just can’t stop thinking about how this all feels kinda goofy for some reason. It feels like these guys have nothing against each other, I’d much rather watch them battlerap in person. But, we all know Daylyt would sweep that easy.
LET THE COASTS BOX!
I feel the issue Joey has at the moment is if he’s believes himself to be of the same caliber of Kenny/J Cole, and believes he is deserving of the “King of NY” label, he needs to be on his A Game. Though I don’t doubt his ability as an emcee by any means, the excitement artists like Ray & Day are bringing with these tracks to me personally is just at a higher level. His next move needs to be his best move.
Justin, longtime viewer here (from the HipHopDX days been subbed from my personal account). I just recorded a song representing for Atlanta amongst this whole East vs West Coast thing. I’m planning on dropping it tomorrow morning/afternoon. Hopefully you can take some time to give it a fair listen and review. I would be eternally grateful if you did. Much love, from Atlanta. We got bars too. The south has something to say again. 🙏❤️
It's the recording meant to sound like it's coming out of a metal work factory?
Really hard to listen to.
East Coast sounds amateur.
I was thinking Joey was talking about J. Cole
Mick still had the best response IMO but shoutout to CJ for rapping way better than the homie in his crew who made 2 songs #itsallhappening

They crucified many people throughout the bible and to this day in some countries but only one crucifixion mattered/saved us.
