Get an EV800D and an analog whoop, maybe a Crux35. You gotta learn how to walk before you can run. You may find it's all you're gonna need. I've been into FPV since 2018, flying whoops and sub-250 toothpicks, and I've spent less than $500 a year after my initial investment - and almost all that dosh was guv'mint rebate checks, eh? [scarfs down a Timbit, sips a large Double-Double] I still use an EV800D as my daily driver.
I would say rather buy the Skyzone cobra sd goggles and a crux 35, my friend has that setup and after some practice on the sim he knows how to fly and still hasn't broken the drone lol
@@alexwolfe957 I bought a Cobra X V2. Loved it until the display died after 7 months.
I spent $450 ended up with zorro, fatshark scout , darwin cineape25, 2 battery's , 350watt 15 amp watt power supply, charger and new antenna. I am beyond happy with the performance of my set up.
Analog for life
It doesn't have to be expensive, it all depends on your flying style. I've had the same setup and tune/Configuration for 2-3 years... But I don't take crazy risks and just enjoy exploring new places and doing building dives with the rip and dip style. Batteries is my only real consumable and that's every 1-2 years then start to rotate new in and old out
Just sold my old DJI v2 goggels & vistas and bought hdzero goggels, analog module bay, & walksnail vrx. total dent was over $1200 with 2 walksnail vtx's, & 1 hdzero whoop lite vtx. That's using my old analog stubbies on the hd zero goggels too. Happy with the switch, was worth it to me for the versatility, but it cost me a chunk. I think I'm good on goggels for the next few years though.
Simple. Get a SkyRc B6 NEO $30 (my favorite budget charger ever). Buy a Darwin baby ape 3" to learn on ($80). ELRS recievers are $10-15. Buy a few CNHL 3s batteries for it $30 (a lot of other small quads take 2-3s). Get a tiny whoop with A30 connector ($110) and batteries ($20-40). Put the rest towards parts like props and spare m2/m3 screws. With the rest, start building your first 5" from scratch.
I definitely agree on it costing $50 every time I fly a 5” 😂. I got less than three minutes out of a velox 50a esc yesterday. Hopefully t-motor customer service will hook me up without me burning a hundred dollars of my time begging them to replace a faulty esc.
i have fatshark scouts and they're good enough for me to be in the air
Even on a budget get the HD Zero goggles. The Mobula6 HDzero Eco 65mm is a great entry, or go analog. Pavo Pico 80mm can take any VTX.
DJI refurbished goggles seems the way to go
Skyzone O40 for $360, then drop $350 or so on a 1s Tiny Whoop. Budget is EXTREMELY tight and like many other hobbies, I'd personally advise simply waiting to have 3-4x this budget and dive in and get quality gear; especially for non-consumables.
Great video Joshua Bardwell,as always ❤
V2 with one or some green dots will be quite cheap
fat shark echo are good budget goggles in my opinion, I use them and my tinywhoop more often than my nice goggles and my 5" racer.
I’d probably go v2 and analog whoop if there will be more money invested in the future
He could also get a pair of DJI V2 goggles with a cheap analog adapter and start out with tiny whoops and analog quads.
That way you already have the goggles if want to upgrade to a hd quad later on.
Don't buy a tiny whoop unless you have a decent amount of space indoors. Better off with a 2" or 85mm
"that's not a 5""
Darwin 240 Johnny 5: am I a joke to you?
Stay far away from anything HD. Your money will go so much further on analog, and with the right camera like a Phoenix 2 SE it can look nearly as good as 720p HD.
i bought my dji goggles 2 for 300usd
Don’t forget all the bad and incorrect parts you’ll receive. When they’re bad, the customer holds the burden of proof for getting the purchase corrected. You’ll have to make a video or take pictures to explain where they messed up.
I'm selling my dji goggles integra for 200-250 or best offer on ebay currently 😉😉 comes with no box or corrective lenses though
Why?
@KerryScharfglass I tried hdzero and I fell in love with it. The variable latency makes me feel a little sick. I'd rather them not gather more dust and I don't mind selling cheap. They're basically brand new without accessories. Only been used 5 or 6 times
@KerryScharfglass also selling the 03 air unit. Highest offer so far is 150 and I might take it
Interesting! I use all HDZero and keep looking towards DJI and wondering if I'm missing out. I guess... maybe not 😆
@KerryScharfglass if you dont get motion sick, you might love it! At least you didn't buy the integras a day before they went on sale 😂😂 bought them for over 400 and the next day they're marked down to 300
