Gutted for the 51, really one of the dumbest way to lose victory, but it is what it is. Congrats to Nicki Thiim who has now won at the 24h of LM, Nürburgring, and Spa.
@Dat-Mudkip there is bend at pit entry so they probably didn't see him. Marshal at pit entry was waving yellow flag. But I guess it's hard to tell if he meant yellow on track and you probably don't expect yellow flag condition in pit. My problem is that this happened two times with the same car and I think there's no investigation about it whatsoever
24 hours chock full of carnage, chaos and sheer unbelievable stuff . Thanks to GTWorld, everybody involved trackside, the commentary box, the broadcasting and moderating team and the cool people in the chat .
I cannot FATHOM how that Ferrari got tagged so hard with yellow flags out, cars looked like they were going race pace through there with the stricken Ferrari sitting there. Absolutely reckless driving through that yellow flagged zone.
Thank god I’m not the only one, I was at the track all week and any time we left I still heard the cars accelerating in the distance. I only realised I was imagining them when I got home and was still constantly hearing 911’s, R8’s and Huracans racing in my head lol
@@FanePhotographyand @PiepsyTurtle-vr3l be happy (or sad) that GT1s and GT2s didn't race 24h. At those times you heard them until Malmedy, you couldn't sleep at night and water bottles fell down at the grandstands. That was a different, but awesome level of sound back in those days
A legenday Race, with all the drama that we didn't expect, but we got. The night was terrible, so much rain and a triple yellow flag with the pace car out constantly. The morning was all about racing, and then Ferrari number 51 comes in for their last pitstop, and Karma just grabbed the Race by the balls. That's Spa, and everyone enjoyed the Race. I feel very sorry for Ferrari and always will but this Race was decided by the people above so it seems..
The 51 Ferrari made a bad call, if they know that there's a stalled Lamborghini in the pitlane, they should've told Pier Guidi to not go to the pits, absolutely gutted for them but congrats to the 007 Aston Martin.
@@michaelundclaudiasiegel6357 I kind of feel like something like that shouldn't be penalized. Although a drive thru would have probably cost them less time...
There is no rule. The solution is for Spa to to widen the pit lane so cars can go around. I would not be surprised if they ( and maybe others with similar pit lanes) do this in the near future.
@@williamford9564 Sounds like the best idea. If I were Ferrari i'd have all my lawyers on this. Another thing I've wondered about is having tracks provide an alternate pit entry on the opposite side of the track so that cars with tires down don't cause FCY's and can duck off the racing line much earlier and yet still get serviced and back out without having as much of their race ruined by events beyond their control.
@aitch8237 No i mean like just another access road so that if I get a flat, I don't have to drive all the way around the track on the racing line to possibly leave debris and cause a FCY, but at least some sort of access road that I can still duck onto, drive at a pit lane speed. Even if that means It's just a separate inner loop road that runs parallel to the track. I don't see why it can't be done with transponders these days and the car is still going to lose the lap or what not just on whether or not it can reach the pits and exit back onto the main course. Like, it wouldn't be allowed except if you have a 'black flag' type issue with the car. Race control would just say to the team/driver 'You are black flagged, have the safety exit lane coming up, take that instead of trying to go to the pits'. Seems like it would make sense at least on some of these longer courses like Le Mans and Nurburgring

Bad luck for the 51 Ferrari. He was delayed 55 seconds at the pit lane entry and lost to the Aston Martin by 33 seconds.
It's all because lamborghini
I don't follow any media around this race. Was there any comment about this incident?
@@SmallKittyPaw no, it was the Lamborghini's fault but they weren't penalized further.
Why didn't the team abort the pit stop? Were they unable to see the Lamborghini?

Congrats👊! This is a REALLY GOOD highlights for a race like this . And not only a 5 minutes of flashes.

A brilliant quote!
Note to video editor: maybe dissolve to black between time segments …. The straight cuts make it difficult to follow the timeline

Thoughts on the many safety cars and full coarse yellows?
anyone know what happened to the 98 rowe racing bmw?
I think they got caught up in one of the multi car accidents. They showed it somewhere in the highlights.
