- Leveling was quite smooth with Holy Flame Totem, but the Flamewood support does have some issues, such as when a slower monster takes a long time to hit your totems, this is further compounded when you don't have 100% ignite chance. I've now swapped to the Ancestral Warchief setup, and the clear is okay with ignite prolif, quite slow though. The single target damage from the Vaal Ancestral Warchief Flamewood proc is very high, as expected.

Aug 19, 2023 6:19 AM (GMT) - We're aware of an issue where Flamewood Support is checking for accuracy when it shouldn't.
It appears that some of the 'jank' of the build that I was experiencing wasn't just mobs moving out of the aoe, it's actively missing which I've come to notice a lot more as I've leveled up(due to hit rate), especially on single targets. Hopefully this is fixed soon!

Due to time restrictions I usually go with a strong tested league starter. Did the Pyroclast mine from Captain Lance this league. Great build really strong. Mapping with 15%res haha. Tonight after the kids are in bed it's time to fix resist and keep blasting. The gamile still feels great and it's fun to play. Excited to do some Sanctum and the new mechanic in the coming weeks. Thank you again for the great POE content
Yeah I respect that - this build was pretty average in the end, I'm going to be rerolling soon as the playstyle, while I don't mind being slow, is extremely awkward against mobs that rarely ever hit(example, map with lab goddess as the boss, she just barely ever hits anything). Core game is great, and I think the league mechanic has a lot of potential once they've ironed some issues out
@@dreamcore_gg What do you think of a build that scales hit instead of ignite? I was thinking of using fireball totem with flamewood support. It wouldn't have as much totem life, but scaling hit with the number of projectiles that are dropping might be good.

It’s going well! Started an absolution gaurdian still thinking about switching to srs or dominating blow later. Just got the first ascension and they buffed the radiance minion to 20% damage taken for you! was quite a nice surprise when I unlocked it.
It looks amazing, the minion just owns everything in the campaign
Hey Dreamcore, I just wanted to say, you could also get some Fractured Essence gloves if you get lucky from taking the first essence node cluster on the atlas passive tree. If you get either +3.5% crit or 30% more DoT, then you can use the other essence to guarantee 2 essence mods. Later on you can Ailsing slam or lock suffixes and use a veiled chaos to get either +2 aoe or +2 melee gems, and then craft the other. This will be a +3 totem 5 link option with higher uptime on EO that can carry you further into the game. Not sure if this is easier or harder than making a good weapon in SSF, but figured it was at least worth mentioning
Yeah I'm already speccing into essence, but the weapon craft will likely be much more accessible because finding the fractured gloves is the hard bit. I think I've done essence spec at leaguestart every league since 3.17, and only ever seen one good glove fracture

hey, noob here. How do you get essence mods fractured? pure luck? random combo of getting a rare item with an essence mod from some random mob that can drop fractured items? or can you influence this in any way?
@@claus4461 If the essence mob is a rare which can drop fractured items when you have the atlas tree notable which drops items with essence mods, this can spawn a fractured essence mod item. You can also fracture an essence mod yourself using a fracturing orb
I found March of the Legion with +5 aura gem levels quite early on SSF. I used Rejuvenation Totem with Flamewood, Combustion and Ignite Proliferation Support in addition to my RF build. It was quite okay with the five extra gem levels boosting the totem life.
My league start is going well. First time playing in a league, but my second character ever. Decided on trying out Lightning Arrow Deadeye. I'm loving the playstyle difference between this and my Shockwave totem build I started a few weeks ago.
I am in Denmark and the league started at 10 in the night. So I played for an hour, went to bed, woke up early played for an hour and my build felt super bad. So I switched to a mine build. And I only managed to buy 3 investment items 2 secondary regrading lenses, and 1 gift to the goddess. My build still stinks if I have to say so myself, I will look at a guide before tomorrow xD
I mean for a solid 12 hours that is fine, especially because I am a slow leveler, so 9 hours to maps, and 2-3 wasted on the first guy.
I use Flamewood with Searing Bond duo to the +1 totem and multiple on fire DOT. The mapping is quite good
Been following as i love totems, chieftain and the idea of flamewood...were you able to test if it shotguns? ive yet to progress enough to test myself
League start went well :), also running flamewood in SSFHC (lvl87 profile alzorz_). But in a RF+SRay+Searing bond package which is working great. Preferring decoy continuous taunt over vaal warchief, allows me to standstill and SRay more.
Flamewood support is decent and I'm liking it, but tbh the totems taunting is actually very responsive in my experience. The chieftain node might be an underrated survivability node for some builds like self casting.
my leaguestart is going, alright. My bleed bow Glad is a bit slow, but I've expected as much. Took me 13h to clear campaign and I've aquired some uniques with the handful of chaos I got. Turns out my idea is working quite good. Bought a circle of guilt for 6c and lowered Herald of Purity Reservation by 38%. Linked it to Guardians Blessing and Malevolence, basically giving me a free 50% aura 99% of the time. I can only activate Malevolence when I have at least one Herald minion up, which I find a bit weird, but it works. Also got a 3c The Siege unique cluster jewel (always bleed, always maim, always knock back, but proj cant chain, fork, pierce, etc). Clearing with Rain of Arrows is pretty good, enemies are constantly being knocked around meaning they are moving pretty much always, meaning I barely need to use my ensnare ballistas. Next upgrade will be the Snipe Helmet and some -mana cost for my attacks.
I expect it would look worse and slower, like waiting for totem to hit, then that totem attack, but its actually decent!
Interesting if it can have damage any close to EA ballista's damage

Im in a 5 link rn with +3 to gems. But Ive had issues with the flamewood not hitting enemies, nor igniting even though I have 100% ignite chance. And although its a spell, I believe accuracy rating is affecting it? Had the projectiles miss A LOT before resolite techniques was allocated. Something feels off with the hitboxes
Yeah it does seem to be a bit inconsistent, not sure if there is a bug there or not.

I've been playing this aswell. However, i've been playing as a strength stracking iron commander version. GMP works with this skill, and when you have 10 + totems up, you occasionaly just one shot a map boss in one volley

I tried this too, and when I faced the act2 boss.... flamewood barely got to do anything haha

I think the new chieftain is quite good for hardcore on the totem route, you really just need to solve physical damage which I plan on doing with lightning coil etc. but the totem taunt is very good and the valako node is obviously great

New Guardian Sentinel of Radiance is bonkers
I have a friend playing a guardian SRS build and he said the same thing, it's just oneshotting everything in the campaign :D
@@dreamcore_gg Skelemages for me but started with Absolution... hate this skill but soon as I got my ascendency I stopped being an Absolution build and turned into a Sentinel of Radiance build lol. Crazy since this is a skill I can have with 0 gear on and it would still be just as good.
Is there not a way to force the on hit? Like the cwdt loops that use self damage
Looks great to be honest safe, tanky, good dps, slow and steady. I started guardian.....the minions are totally broken. It doesnt matter what build you play, the radiant RF is still insta clearing all full screen at yellow maps.....i went into minion life and basically never use my other skills.....thinking of going BAMA or skelly mages. Those 3 auras are up all the time and thats alot of dps making to great for bama since before that was 20divine bow. Now? Any bow is gg wp for the same dps. So still trying t9 figure things out. Herald of purity, holy relic, skelly mages, bama....all look like will be best on guardian
Yeah I have a friend who's playing SRS guardian and he said the minion is just rolling everything in the campaign, the guardian rework is very strong
@@dreamcore_gg i tried absolution and srs.....but the sentinel killed all sp fadt i went into cycle and 2x holy relics for now, othwise srs are too slow and absolution is pointless
I'm doing scion flamewood , ( with chieftain+ saboteur ascendancy) and i try some gems and some set up for science...
1 ) Flamewood + GMP work But with Greater volley dont work
2) Against kitava (act 5 and act 10 ) GMP dosnt work i dunno why... it just shoot 1 proj
3) Flamewood cannot do legion in map XD
And a question, Martyr of Innocence Highborn Staff can be a good staff for ignite version ? for starting i mean
Yeah the skill is a bit janky it seems :D For weapon choice some sceptres with fire dot multi/fire damage are great, later on you can buuld towards some gem levels weapon(mace probably easiest to craft)
Have you considered the torchoak boots for this build?
I'm playing SSF but dropped them about an hour ago, so I'm using them now :D Nice boost to clear speed
Requiring a hit to deal damage is way too jank for me.

I'll post a new video update tomorrow, but the build is going okay, I've switched to hit based for now since I dropped Sire of Shards
What caused you to go ignite instead of hit-based?
The flamewood support does have too big of a delay (1s cooldown + enemies need to trigger it) for a hit based build.
Might work for single target, but if you want to map clear a hitbased approach without ignite prolif would be unbearably slow.
Waggle already rerolling off this. Seems like its bugged and rolling for accuracy even though its a spell.

Trauma doesn't work on totems
