Totally agree! Such a VIBE on this record. Felt like a gimmick at first, but I came to LOVE the thematic focus of the record. Totally puts you in a new setting. (Also I thought Caprockin literally meant wearing a hat.)
Wow! what a great review of a great album. I only discovered The Panhandlers a week ago while researching John Baumann. I'm going to see see Baumann tomorrow evening in Denton, TX. I discover Baumann a little over a year ago when he opened for The Wilder Blue. I bouught 4 of his CD's that night and got to spent about 10 minutes with him as hi signed them. Great guy. I fell in love with The Panhandlers music. Hoping Baumann has a CD to purchase tomorrow night. Thank you for the great review. You answered a lot of questions I was going to ask Baumann about The Panhandlers. I'll be checking out you channel for your other reviews. It's so refreshing to see someone as young as you listening to beautiful music with deeper lyrics. God bless you.
Thoroughly enjoyed your well thought out review. I'm from the Texas Panhandle, and recently found this album. That led me to Cleto and the Cavalry. Good stuff!
Grady smith sent me here and I’m glad he did. I’m from north Texas (which means north of Dallas Fort Worth) but I’ve spent a decent bit of time in west Texas and the panhandle and this album takes me right back to hanging in the bars in San Angelo to Amarillo
Honestly, this is one of the best true Texas country albums I've ever heard. I was already a big fan of William Clark Green and Flatland Cavalry... and I have albums from John Baumann and Josh Abbott... the songwriting here is just fantastic. As someone who has lived in Lubbock and west Texas... they crushed it with the lyrics. Great review of a great album. Love west Texas. Love Lubbock. Love this album.

Has quickly become one of my favourite albums!
