I like this series. I wanted to note that Metal should be your "standard" building material. Wood, Heavy armor, alloy, and rubber are all specialized materials for certain functions. HA+Alloy underperforms against straight metal cost-per-cost. HA is used to save on volume at the cost of money and weight. Alloy is almost as good as metal but you trade durability in exchange for bouyancy. (metal on its own is actually not that heavy). Wood is good for cheap,raw HP at the expense of volume and low armor (bad vs explosions but decent vs penetration cost for cost)
Holy. This is one of the most greatest ideas ever! Thanks for doing this it has made me want to get the game too. It looks like lots of fun and although the HUGE learning curve watching your vids have made me want to buy the game and check it out.
Before you refit the entire fleet, try and check out some campaign craft, most notably the steel striders because they have a more similar style to you (albeit more modern)
