This was plenty good unless you think the world owes you something, especially if you just want a cut and dry scifi action flick to escape into. Feels like they were practicing filmmaking for something larger in the near future; proving their mettle. There basically wasn't a single frame out of place in the edit; everything hit flawlessly. All they need now is some more original ideas for the next script.
The world owes me something? If I pay to sit in a cinema then the studio owes me value for money - that's how it works. Don't serve up a crappy, badly acted film with a stupid, paper-thin script. That's the contract.

I highly recommend this movie. The beginning could have been a lot better. Their was no depth of the events that took place before the life in the mountain. This movie had action and a story line, i enjoyed it very much. I look forward to #2 if you make it right. Don't pull a disney and screw it up. The second movie has a lot of potential.

Enjoyable sci fi romp, but I have to suspend all reality to believe aliens travelling here would ever be monsters, to become advanced enough to develop space travel you would need a great deal of cooperation only achievable within a highly civilised, intelligent creative society, extremely aggressive beasts who just want to kill wouldnt even make it out of their own jungle.

Yeh I'm sorry but these new creatures from the makers of Quiet Place could definitely be killed by a small squad of American army rangers...sorry but the premise is silly.
I'll never watch this. I've skipped birth Quiet Place films as being too silly, and this one looks likely to be the same. These alien invasion films always seem to follow the same skeleton premise: The invasion is fast and overwhelms every military in the world despite its massive firepower. Then some person/family/kid works out how to kill them with a food blender and a bottle of bleach (I made that up), despite all the scientists and soldiers failing. Nobody seems to be able to come up with a scenario that is at all plausible, except for the film 'Life', which is the scariest one I've seen since Alien.

Here, let me join the dots for you. 1) No alien invasion where the entire world's military is miraculously overwhelmed instantly. 2) No alien superpowers where bullets bounce off but high frequency sound kills them - discovered by a young girl in a bunker. 3) Ordinary people with no military training or weapons encounter an aggressive alien lifeform with no warning or preparation. 4) The danger of the creature and what they have to do to survive is emergent - they discover on an almost logarithmic scale (you can look that up) how much jeopardy they are in. 5) The ship they are on is about as ordinary as a seaborne ship is right now - no magic weapons, teleports etc. Yes they have cryosleep, but who wants to go to bed with that running around? Alien was a masterpiece of juxtaposition, injecting an alien lifeform into a banal environment with ordinary working folk and watching as they have to learn to fight to survive. It's as realistic as it would be if tigers didn't exist on Earth and they just encountered one loose on a cargo ship in the middle of the Pacific while it hunted them down. So no, I'm not embarassed.
