    as diamond I was "upgraded" to the 22 column where the rooms are awkwardly shaped as an end room. The room was elongated and narrow because it was an end room and the entire end wall was windows. Since the shades go up and down together, it offers open privacy - no privacy. Their mantra was people think its a great upgrade with strip views - I find that difficult to believe. Their mantra is also that every room has windows, but they know its a long narrow room with an entire long wall with windows, no privacy whatsoever . They moved me to a high level floor (still an "upgrade" by hilton criteria) with mountain/parking lot views. Lesson learned ask for an upgrade not in the 22 column with with strip views. looking back sort of felt like a rip-off for a diamond member in a hotel with many vacancies in the shoulder season compared to other strip hotels. they are probably happy they finagled another customer into an "upgrade".

      Good insight. Do you remember what is the category of the room you got upgraded too? I often just politely ask for a suite upgrade so they know exactly what I want.

      @@upgradedtravels I don't know the category, but it was definitely not a suite. thanks for the tip about asking for a suite. Just stay away from the 22 column - it is a headfake upgrade.

    I checked and it is 85K hilton points per night. I wonder if its worth it.....that is a lot of points..

      I wouldn’t do it if you have to transfer these points from a credit card. But if you already earned them from your stays, you can make an argument to use points especially during peak travel times when room rates are high.

      Only worth staying her if you are using FNC's.. it is not worth 85k points.

      @@MH_6160 really? well Resorts world hilton is 60K. Waldorf is about $600 night with taxes and fees. 85K seems about right considering a hotel around $150-200 a night is 30K points. I don't have FNC unfortunately.

    Thanks for the great video! Did you say that the bar near the top floor is closed? I hear they have a great view of the strip.

      Thanks for watching! It was closed when I was there in February, but it could be open now. It seemed like Twist is getting some major work done tho.

    How do you get the free night certificate?

    • @upgradedtravels
      @upgradedtravels  7 місяців тому +1

      You can get them either from the American Express Surpass card after $15000 spent or the American Express Aspire card as an annual bonus.

      You are nitpicking… jk I agree and I think in the regular King room it is at the mini bar. Not sure if they moved it or they just have a different placement for king room vs suite. Anyway, great content! 👍

      LOL, I know right? I need to stop being so critical haha. Yeah, I've stay in their regular king room before. It's slightly smaller, but other than the walk-in closet, there isn't a big difference.
      Appreciate the support! Thanks for watching! @@bankofbryan7917
