She was wearing loose fitting shorts that day because it's so hot there. A homeless man was in the store and walked up behind her, reached under her shorts and got hold of her private area. To make things worse, the gals working checkout saw it and did nothing. They didn't check on her or call the police. She was mortified and went to her car. Sadly she didn't call the police. She just wanted to get home. She wasn't going to make a video about it, but like you, decided to do it to warn others how fast things like this can and do happen now. I’m so sorry to hear this happened to you, especially while you are pregnant! 2 things about pepper spray, you don’t have to get it in the eyes for it to work, it will also burn the living heck out of your skin (pepper sprayed for professional purposes). Second, just know if you do deploy pepper spray, people can get angry quickly because it burns badly for most and adrenaline kicks in (like kicking a bees nest). You should definitely press charges. So glad you are okay. I always felt safe when we lived in the city (Manhattan, Brooklyn & the Bronx) but I'm glad we moved a few years ago because it's just getting crazy. The entitlement of some people, their parents should be so ashamed of how they raised their kid because they become crappy adults. I was punched by an ex boyfriend and my orbital bone was broken, it's a serious injury, thankfully you weren't hurt that badly but she could have really hurt you and over a stupid parking issue. Ugh. If you find this continues to bother you and if it bothers you that you went into shock I know for me taking a Krav Maga class changed my life. Not to be violent at all (unless you need to be) but it's about not 'freezing'. If something severe happened around me I would flood with cortisol and shut down. I only took 7 classes and have never felt that way again. At least the place here would bring up all your adrenaline but then train options there. It has helped me in all kinds of situations. Good people need to be able to deal with the bad. That woman was working at a primitive level while you were being civilized. She took that as weakness.

Next time if anyone blocks your car just call the cops or a tow truck right away because they shouldn’t have been parked like that in the first place! I’m so sorry to hear this happened to you, especially while you are pregnant! 2 things about pepper spray, you don’t have to get it in the eyes for it to work, it will also burn the living heck out of your skin (pepper sprayed for professional purposes). Second, just know if you do deploy pepper spray, people can get angry quickly because it burns badly for most and adrenaline kicks in (like kicking a bees nest). You should definitely press charges. So glad you are okay. I always felt safe when we lived in the city (Manhattan, Brooklyn & the Bronx) but I'm glad we moved a few years ago because it's just getting crazy. The entitlement of some people, their parents should be so ashamed of how they raised their kid because they become crappy adults. I hope that something happens to punish her but it seems like criminals go free and the good people suffer. I was punched by an ex boyfriend and my orbital bone was broken, it's a serious injury, thankfully you weren't hurt that badly but she could have really hurt you and over a stupid parking issue. Ugh. Hopefully because you are pregnant maybe they can factor in the stress of that into the charges.

I am so like you- non confrontational and it till gives me anxiety just thinking about those things. You really never know when something like that will happen and it really is important to be aware of your surroundings. Stick with it and press charges for assault for sure. If you find this continues to bother you and if it bothers you that you went into shock I know for me taking a Krav Maga class changed my life. Not to be violent at all (unless you need to be) but it's about not 'freezing'. If something severe happened around me I would flood with cortisol and shut down. I only took 7 classes and have never felt that way again. At least the place here would bring up all your adrenaline but then train options there. It has helped me in all kinds of situations.
Good people need to be able to deal with the bad. That woman was working at a primitive level while you were being civilized. She took that as weakness.
