    Solution: Apply wax.
    Before you do, remove and wash tracks.

    When I had the glass replaced in most of my vinyl windows, the pros used silicone spray on the tracks and that made all my windows open and close easily.

    I read a comment somewhere else mentioning powdered graphite, it’s in a tube and available most places and fairly inexpensive. I’m going to try both versions..wax paper and graphite. House we bought had vinyl replacements and they’re all different sizes and I swear I have a couple that look to have been forced into a too small of an opening. The way everything has been done here certainly was done w less experience and very small amounts of money. It’s a charming home though..my very first.

    I have a different idea. The best way to fix a sticking window is to throw a hammer through it. That's a permanent solution, whereas just waxing the track is temporary, because the wax may eventually wear away.

    • @TheFunnyCarpenter
      @TheFunnyCarpenter  2 роки тому +4

      Yes, you can use the wax paper to wax down the floor in front of the broken window...that way the racoons will slip and fall on their way in- free dinner:)

    • @qwincyq6412
      @qwincyq6412 2 роки тому +1

      I’ve been tempted to throw a hammer through many times! If the cost of replacement wasn’t so high I’d be rid of them. They’re not only hard to deal with but they are extremely drafty.
