It’s awesome how you sculpted Flokis face. It looks very difficult and even with you explaining it so well, it still is amazing how you brought him to life. The skin value and temperature is spot on - how on earth do you do it so accurately? I could watch for hours! Thank you so much. Lynda🧚🏼♀️💕
This is one of best condensed and succinct summarizations for getting strong planes down for structure and depth of the subject through value. I will be using this even for my drawings. Straight to my 'favorites' playlist for lifelong reference. 👍
I can't do it all the time sometimes I to use the Loomis but I will say when I don't use the Loomis I start with the eyes and work from there on out...I would say to try to figure out a short cut by cutting some steps out or create a of your own Loomis technic !
I count never understand why some great painters use alot of green in portrature. Its complementary and contrast, I saw various artists from the masters to Frazzetta and some contemporary painters doing it. Seems so counterintuitive to me. Thanks for the awesome video.
@ArthurGain indeed! This would be because it contains blue, yes? And blue is lighter in value than red thus bringing the light up in itself and depressing the dark in the red around it.
People like this just piss me off. The way they make work like this look so easy and talk about it like it's no big deal... Makes me legit want to stop even trying to paint

Doesn't really look much like Floki. I think if it was supposed to be, this guy would make it look unmistakable

green tones can make adjacent shapes appear more red
