    Thanks for watching the first video in our inverter system upgrade series! We’re SO excited to be part of the Battle Born family, as well as use off grid products that we believe in and that keep us out there adventuring for longer. Are there any other houseboaters out there that use lithium ion batteries on their boats? Does anyone else use lithium ion batteries for a boat other than a houseboat? We’d love to hear your stories about how it’s gone so far using lithium ion to power your off grid lifestyles. Let us know in the comments!

    Just found your page and love all the videos! We are trying to sell our house here in NJ so we can buy a houseboat and love full time at Port Royal Marina also. Our friends live on Dock 10 so really hoping to get there soon and maybe meet you guys one day. So much to learn and I can’t wait. Rock on! You guys are awesome.

      How awesome that you all are looking into houseboating and want to come down to Port Royale! I wonder if we know your friends on Dock 10? If you're ever down here for a visit, stop by and say "hello." We'd love to meet you in person. Buying our houseboat has been one of the best decisions we've ever made for our family. Hope it is for you, too. Enjoy the journey as you're learning - always something new, and let us know if we can help.

    Great video Trey! I was hoping this is what you were going to do. Cannot wait to see the install video and then a review after having for a while.

      Hey Jeffrey! Was hoping you would watch the video. Remember you were looking forward to seeing it. We are PUMPED to have the new inverter and lithium ion batteries. We took the houseboat out this past weekend with some friends to try it all out, and can't say enough great things about the experience. Excited to share more in the next few videos

      Hahaha Trey's alter ego, "Super Trey," had to make an appearance. Surprised it took him this long to find his way into a video...this was a fun one to film and edit 😃

    That customer service does sound amazing. I have an EcoFlow with a 160w solar panel for my boat. I don't need as much because I just have a little 28 foot Searay. With gas prices going the way they are, battery power just seems smarter. Also didn't realize you work in IT. I have been on various helpdesks for the past 10 years

      We’re definitely excited to burn less fuel, given where gas prices are now. It’s way cool that you have a solar panel on your boat. Is it portable or fixed to the radar arch? Maybe one day we will go all the way and get solar. Awesome you are also in IT. It’s a fun industry to be part of because it’s always changing with something new to learn. Thanks for watching our video, and looking forward to releasing the next one

      @@DeepHouseboatLife I just have a fold up solar panel. I only put it out when I'm using the generator. It definitely doesn't keep up with things like air conditioning, but on sunny days it will power the fridge and more which is pretty cool.

      @@SergeantPope powering the fridge is very key!! We'll take that over the AC any day. Our new batteries don't power the AC, either, but does the fans, fridge, most lights, and some key sockets. Cool that your solar panel actually folds up. Wonder how many of those we would need for our houseboat??

    How much did it cost for the new batteries?

    • @DeepHouseboatLife
      @DeepHouseboatLife  2 роки тому +1

      The new batteries were about $4,500, and the new inviter and supporting components brought the total to just over $6k. We were able to take our savings from coming in under our 2021 budget to invest in our upgrade. Thank you for asking!

    what's your gen kwh output? battery pack should match what gen is. for me, i'm using 6 410ah powerqueen batteries wired in parallel making 2460ah at 12v and equivalent to 29.52kwh for offgrid living.

    All u need now is solar system

      Absolutely, Mark! We'd love to add solar panels. It's on the daydream list right now, but we've been known to take those daydream items off the list...so hopefully one of these not-too-distant houseboating seasons we can do that
