As a Canadian, seeing that a show from ITV in Edmonton got on ITV in the UK made me smile. 🙂 A little bit of a background, at that time, Canadian TV stations often used their call signs for branding, much like ones in the US. The station where Mel Torme and Della Reese was produced was CITV in Edmonton, Alberta, and it was branded on-air as "ITV" for just over 25 years. It's now part of Corus' Global TV network and it uses that brand. CITV is still its call sign but it's used now as a legal designation in terms of its broadcasting license instead of a branding element.
I remember "Police Surgeon" ran on Thames in an afternoon slot in its pre-retooling form of "Dr. Simon Locke" (Which a pre-"Chico And The Man" Jack Albertson left as soon as he could, because the Canadian production was so cheap...)
