Love the cart idea, I think a good idea would be some non swivel castors on the back. Still able to get 180° of rotation but will help keep you roll it down the driveway

When going down the driveway with the camper on the cart, I have a pre-positioned 2x4 to stop the camper and cart from moving further. That's a million dollar tip regarding pre-measuring the rear bed height before lowering the camper. 👍
Fwiw to ya , it would be really easy to set up anchor point at the garage and us a block and tackle to lower the camper down the hill . Put those casters on the out riggers and it will simplify the operation . Just an observation . . . . Nice camper !
My testimony, I have a 2012 tundra and 4 wheel camper SHELL ONLY. Yes, they are the lightest camper I know of---my shell at 700 pounds and yes, that is light. But with two normal sized people, and our dog and LIGHT gear, we go over the Truck's specification for weight bearing. I know, this is a new truck, but just saying--watch your weight and consider a 3/4 ton truck. We too by the way, put in airbags--and yeah, they make a huge difference in leveling the load, even pulling our small boat while loaded with the camper. But we ARE overweight. And I would bet this guy is too, new truck and all.

@@db2overland Just some advice. Weigh your stock truck before mods, and then weigh it afterwards. If you increase the weight of your truck with springs, airbags etc. that weight will have to be deducted from your existing payload, giving you less available payload. 100 lbs in springs, airbags etc. you lose 100 lbs payload.

FWIW the actual weight ratings of 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks is a lot more than those antiquated designations. My 3)4 ton truck bed payload is around 3,300 lbs. Definitely check vehicle door stickers and mfg specs to make sure.

Also, I have a 6-in lift and 35 inch tires, will the outriggers lift the camper high enough? Did you try it before you had airbags? Thanks for watching. I personally think the color is the best. FWC does not have powered out riggers to my knowledge. There are some other campers that do. In my opinion, the out riggers wouldn’t work for your lift and tire size. I feel that even if they could extend that high, they would be unstable. You might be able to get creative with some type of blocks under the out riggers. As for the sag, I run the bags empty for everyday driving. I only put the air in when I put the camper on. The sag is almost 2” with my suspension, yours will probably be different.

Yes. For our type of truck, that is all that is needed. Now when we start to pull a trailer we may need to do something else, but for now it’s just the bags. You will need to contact the manufacturer of the camper and tell them what truck you will be putting the camper on and they will tell you what you will need. How much does your camper weigh. I'm looking at travel Lite truck campers for my 2010 Tundra double cab. My plan is for airbags and e rated tires. The camper I'm looking at has a dry weight of 1285 pounds. I have a travel trailer but want to travel around the country and think a truck camper would be less stressful. Are the airbags the only thing that you did to the suspension of your truck?
Hey Dennis, the dry weight of my Raven is 1040 lbs. It is the base model Raven so no extra stuff is added. Yes the only thing I did to the truck is the bags. The truck drives great with the camper on, you hardly notice anything. You do notice when the water tank is full, but not much. Thanks for watching we appreciate it! The fourwheel popup's have gone up $3k this past year and i have only seen one wrecked on Craigslist.

IF I ever go this route I'm hoping I can do this inside our garage since we have 11' ceiling - have you ever measured height when it's raised to back the truck under? I'm sure OEM springs + air bags manage it well enough, but I'd be pushing it putting more weight back there with a trailer. Beefier spring pack would help but then the ride quality sucks when the camper is off (so I'm told)
Your biggest issue is going to be the opening to the garage door and possibly backing it into the garage. Ours is definitely too high, we can have the camper on its dolley and popped up inside the garage easily. We will be ungrading our tires in the future once we plan on some off road stuff and then we will see if we need a spring pack. Hope you decide on one, we love ours.
I can’t tell how far above the side of the bed the camper sits. Is there enough space for the guides of a truck bed cover to clear? Also, was your truck prewired for power connection in the bed?
We had the truck wired during the install. Also, there is no way possible to load and unload the camper inside the garage, the truck sits too high that we cannot get the truck into the garage. So, that's why we built the dolly cart.
Well, we do not have a system. My wife and I push. It is not ideal but it works for now. Ask me again in a few years and I will probably have a different answer. We are strong like bull😀 Thanks for watching and the comment, we really appreciate it!

@@db2overland hello and thank you for answering me, I am not young, I am 62 years old and since I will be retiring soon I have decided to buy a 1500 Ram or Ford Ranger pick up and a living cell. the problem in Italy is that to drive with a car license you must not exceed 3500 kg otherwise you have to get a new truck license for this reason I have to find a cell that is not too heavy

FWC recommends against putting casters on the outriggers. Too much lateral load for the frame design. Those are long levers
