Whenever I'm waiting in an airport, it amazes me that I'm the only person looking out the windows to see what the ramp crews are up to. People seem to take this work for granted, but without it, nothing else could happen. I've always been fascinated by it.
This has always been a dream of mine to work at an airport but not having to actually fly in a plane. My absolute favourite part of airports is definitely the ground crew doing what they do.
You seem to have a hectic, tough, important but also fun job when the weather is nice! But are you never jealous of the pilots just chillin in their cocpit with their Raybans, having a coctail and talk to pritty stewardesses? GJ and nice video dude!
Eventually ramp agents will become a thing of the past like aircraft Marshalling has in some places , the tasks are very repetitive and many people will eventually not want to do any of it the positions will be done by robotics and automatic loading and unloading conveyor belts.
I doubt it massively. Passenger make every flight different and bring all sorts of issues and things to resolve. So youll always have us on the ramp and in the terminal
Is there a huge cut/jump on the video? or the full turn around only really lasted about 30minutes? Just curious cause that was very fast. Also may I ask if you have a degree in aviation?
Answering for him here, yes, 30 minutes is normal turnaround time, actually a little long, where i work all but the smaller Dash 8 & ATR-72 aircraft have a turnaround of 25 minutes, that goes for 319,320,321 & any 737 variants Though in some cases, for scheduling it can be longer and some of the charter routes might have a bit longer turnaround to facilitate fully loading the aircraft...
Lucky lol we don't have vgds at my airport terminal. And the ground power is directly attached to the jetbridge. How many turns a day do you usually do?
By our US standards, you broke SOOO many rules. The most important two being you were walking in-front of engines which were running several times, which you never do here, and you also moved way to close to the aircraft by our standards.
I love your videos. I’ve always been interested in planes and Gatwick airport. It’s really cool to see what actually goes on in the airfield that not many people know.

Nothing is really organized and equipment's are always breaking down flights are always delayed and everything bottom-line is unorganized from the airline itself.
I never understood why so many people hook up the tow bar without the tug. I know the bypass pin disconnects the controls but why take the chance. If it didn't work or more likely someone forgot to place the bypass pin you have pendulum of death
I worked landside at Heathrow for 24 years and really miss the airport environment. Loved watching the video and the professional way in which the operation was completed 👍
