Thanks. I listened again, and I agree. I think, originally, I perceived the recording as somewhat synthetic sounding. Also, my initial impression of the strings @0:45 sounded distinctly quantized, but that precision might simply have been the conductors intent. Thanks for giving me reason to revisit this beautiful composition.
It's a pseudonum of Jun Wakita, taken after the Russian composer Rakhmaninov. :d Though Wac (as Mr. Wakita often goes by) does make a bunch of virtuoso music, Antares is still pretty different from the rest of his stuff. It's still worth checking out if you are a fan of generally good music, though.
Again, what are you talking about? Jun Wakita simply borrowed Rachmaninov's namesake in writing a composition that takes homage to his works. Virkato Wacmaninov IS Jun Wakita.
I disagree slightly. Though he's extremely talented (exhibit A: this song), there's really not much work for composers like him except for in the video game/movie industry.

It's true form of art :)
In any other thing on the world you can't find this... but here, everything is in your hand...
This song makes me remember FFVII I don't know why but I love so much this song
That was absolutely beautiful. It's a shame that the mane who created it has since passed on, but we can't live forever, after all.

I love you Kaori!!!
This track was composed by Jun Wakita. He goes by the alias 'wac', but he chose the alias Wakhmaninov for this one (a crappy word play on Rachmaninov)
ok thanks
this song is sooooooo good.
where can i get an mp3 of this?
최고의 곡이다!!
The composer (Jun Wakita) often uses Wac as his alias. It can be seen as a pun or an homage, depending on how you look at it.
@DimSumPwns I might have to agree.
best 8:01 minutes of my life

Though this "MIDI" orchestra version is nice, I REALLY wish I could hear a "real" orchestra version.
@Holeyhell Yes it is. =]
Same here
i think ive read somewhere that virkato wakhmaninov is an alias of someone o.O
someone correct me if im wrong.
This song made by WAC(KONAMI Artist)
not 'virkato wakhmaninov'
this is the orchestra version. There is no REAL MIDI version.
Any1 know where i can find an mp3 file of this piece?
こりゃすごい曲だな
Jun WAKati is his name
What are you talking about?
Wac (Jun Wakita) still alive and well...lol
Makes me think of Kingdom Hearts for some reason. LOL
「セルゲイ・ラフマニノフ」ではなく「ヴィルカート・ワフマニノフ」だな。
クラシックぽくていい曲だ。
its the composer's surname
Jun Wakati
3:37 ...
There is no Virkato!!

And that just really really sucks. I mean, this song is light years beyond anything else I've heard from Bemani.
こっちの方が好き
lol
wak is wasting his talent, he could do much better than his jobs for Bemani.
