    I’ve fallen in love with Baum over the course of a few months. Can’t wait to get my hands on one

    wauw! what a gorgeous guitar this wingman. In other reviews I thought when pushed, the pickups might lose a bit of bottom end and richness, but in your video they don't do that at all! Still so dynamic and deep. well played man.

      Thanks a lot! I do have to give some credit to 29 Pedals and their EUNA/OAMP here as well! Thanks for watching! Glad to have my Baum

      @@EdgeofBreakup just a quick question. How would you compare this to say a jazzmaster?

    • @EdgeofBreakup
      @EdgeofBreakup  25 днів тому +1

      Similar offset vibes with the way it sits when playing, more control per pickup in terms of two volumes and one global tone, no rhythm circuit, darker in overall tone than a jazz master, so you might find that you enjoy the Baum more with overdrive, gain and fuzz vs straight clean. That said I loved the Baum with the Euna for clean tones, gave it that sparkle! What else are you looking to know?

    That is such a cool looking guitar. I love the design of it. I like the sound of the pickups as well and at some points it kind of has a Stratocaster type of sound to it do you think? And lovely playing by the way 👍

      Yeah it’s pretty unique! I really enjoyed it with more gain and effects too, has a tightness that really kept it together even when layered. Check out this video and you’ll see what I mean: ua-cam.com/video/5EBNeZM3vgg/v-deo.html

    All these pedals and effects your are using do they work with a tube amp? Or are you playing through that modern computer stuff?

    • @EdgeofBreakup
      @EdgeofBreakup  11 місяців тому +1

      Not sure where you’re getting the idea that I’m playing through “modern computer stuff” - every video I publish has notes on what my tube amp setup is - typically a Benson Monarch head with a 2x12” cab, 4 microphones on the cab in the room.
      I’ve done a very limited set of videos using Universal Audio Ox direct into an audio interface, as well as some videos on amp modeling software but this is not one of them - they are more the exception than the rule and you can always find notes on my setup in the video descriptions if you’re ever curious. ✌️

      @@EdgeofBreakup Okay. Thanks for the info. I will try to listen to this video further then.
      I am Danish. I live in Spain but my parents live not far from Århus where Baum Guitars are based. Electric guitars are new to me as I am an acoustic guitar player. About a year ago I bought a Harley Benton strat, tele and a 15 tube amp.
      It is quite a challenge to get the sounds I want. I am playing Shadows, Surf Rock and Country. One of the sounds I want is a Chris Isaak sound. Not necessarily the exact same sound, but the same vibe and feel. This set up you have right here seems to be pretty close.

    • @EdgeofBreakup
      @EdgeofBreakup  11 місяців тому +1

      @Morten_Nielsen1979 if that’s the core tone you want, seems like you need a nice Fender Amp like a Super Reverb or Twin Reverb (those are both very high headroom / high wattage tube amps, so don’t buy them if you cannot play extremely loud) along with a Stratocaster style guitar (I recommend a Nash S63 and a great delay pedal like the Strymon Volante). A smaller Deluxe Reverb will probably get you there at a lighter weight to carry and lower volumes to be more usable (still loud AF tho 😂).
      After 5 min of googling: www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/amp-for-chris-isaak-tones.442760/
      What I’m playing in this video is a Baum Wingman with their default Jabmaster pickups into a Benson Monarch head with 2x12” cabinet mic’d by 4 microphones. The clarity you’re hearing is even more pronounced because of the 29 Pedals EUNA buffer/eq and OAMP line driver. They are fantastic pedals and add a sparkle and oomph that you will instantly miss once they are off.
      Hope that helps.

      @@EdgeofBreakupI just did some research on the guitar player in question. His name was Jimmy Wisely. He died recently. A friend of his was a top Rock writer for magazines. He has written a book about him.
      Regarding his unique tone and style, I found a clip where he played a Tele. You can hardly hear a difference between that and when he played his Strat. He did not seem to have used any pedals. I am interested in him because I play Elvis and am mixing Country and Flamenco. He had some Spanish sounds in the mix too.
      That amp and Strat you recommend will have to wait. Too much money. The Harley Benton gear is good. I am after clarify, so I will look more into these. Any other hardware you can recommend? By the way, I also play Spaghetti Wester themes. 🤠
