seems like we need a complimentary bread tier list
Them cheddar bay biscuits
I've seen people leave the Texas roadhouse because there wasn't any bread
Texas Roadhouse or cheddars
haha!!
I’ll agree bread tier list
I could listen to you talk about food for hours. You're doing the lord's work.
Just a tip: 95% of the time you are eating frozen shrimp at restaurants. Every restaurant serves frozen food. All seafood is frozen at some point. Not necessarily a bad thing. Just a necessity because the sheer amount of labor it would take to run a modern kitchen without freezing of certain proteins.
I live in Phoenix Arizona, I have zero doubt in my mind that my seafood was frozen. I don't mind.
I live close to a beach where there is this place that is a seafood market. They also have a restaurant in the back. Best seafood i've ever had. The bigger restaurants along the beach use frozen according to a waitress friend of mine, but this place gets fresh seafood daily so they don''t have to freeze. its awesome
@@steveosk8s Yea. Don’t ever eat warm fish. I once had the worst stomach pain ever, turned bright red and itching all over, then passed out on the floor and shit myself all over. It began an hour after eating warm fish. The first I knew something was wrong was my tongue started tingling like I ate something spicy. The reaction only lasted a couple hours, but I thought I was going to die.
In California Sushi grade fish other than tuna must be frozen for 7 days to be consumed raw.
I've gotten used to Finn having some pretty awful hot takes, but he went straight up nuclear for this one. Olive Garden being S, Red Lobster being C, IHOP being worse than Denny's, and Chinese food being awful? Finn's off the deep end
I don’t get some of his takes, like how he doesn’t like Chick Fil A or Chinese food, and yet somehow likes California Pizza Kitchen more.
@@MEALTeamSixx to be fair chick fil a is a bit overrated. the only thing that separates them from the rest is their sauce.
You guys must like ska music, because e everything I love finn hates. I'm convinced he's just trolling, cause who can love shit like olive garden and not love pancakes??
No trolling
I came to say the same thing!! I was like yoooo how can the only 2 options I cared for Denny's & Ihop be F-Tier???? I agree with the red lobster situation the biscuits are what makes that place good. However, as far as IHOP & Denny's those are the only places I still eat from because they are reliable for late-night food it's not great but it hits the spot & after a killer show, it definitely fulfills the cravings.
I don’t know why I enjoy watching useless trash like this but I absolutely love it. Keep it coming.
The tongue and cheek sarcasm and palpable passive aggression in all his twitch streams is honestly life.
Well put!
"One does not go to Denny's, one ends up at Denny's"
Our gang's motto back in our late teens/early twenties, when we would party 4 out of 7 days of the week, those were dark days 😅
If you go to Denny's at any time that isn't breakfast or after midnight you might be lost.
those hashbrowns and moons over my hammy had to have coke in them, but they were 24hr and allowed smoking and didnt ID, though Barbara knew we were garbage teens to broke to tip. So many post crappy punk shows spent there...
People will say Denny's sucks and then willingly go to McDonald's for breakfast
Denny’s slaps, as long as you go there during the day, 2 am denny’s you’re liable to see some characters you don’t wanna encounter
I was wandering around Chicago on January 1st many years ago and it was very cold. I wanted to find a particular German restaurant, but everything was closed, because January 1st. So I was freezing to death, starving, and I wandered around a corner and there was a Panera! I have no words for how wonderful that was.
Texas Roadhouse my guy. Golden delicious rolls with cinnamon butter, followed by one of the best house salads in the game. And for the main course, sirloin and baked potato. tried and true. Then back to the house in the suburbs for a Sunday afternoon nap.
Texas Roadhouse is god tier
Low-key, their chili is dope. The secret is to also have some kind of fires and put that chili on them. It's so good.
Golden Corral exists solely for the purpose of giving grandparents a place to take their grandkids because “There’s something for everyone”.
The most disgusting restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was half stale. The restaurant was dirty.
@@dancegregorydance6933L
Dennys is bad but in my town we had a regular dennys and then we had a completely unrelated random diner called Dennys that had no connection to the chain…and it’s absolutely amazing. If that random little diner became a chain and overtook the big Dennys chain I would be happy because their food is S tier
Finn: I hate mom n pop hole in the wall places, I'd rather go to a big chain restaurant.
Also Finn: Yeah, the food at pretty much all the big chain restaurants is vile.
Exactly
Bro I just saw the title and I can already tell I'm going to want to fight somebody by the end of this video.
Dennys in f tier hurt me. It’s at least c tier to me
Applebee's had a great hack for 22 year old me. They did the half off apps after 9, and on Mondays they had 5 dollar pitchers of beer. You could get a plate of nachos and a full pitcher of beer to yourself for 15 including tip.
Half-price appys was always my go-to post local show hangout in high school. Felt like kings.
@@sollamander2206 I remember when they had 45 cent wings. My wife and i would eat wings and pay 10 something with tip. insane
Finn is the most "From Seattle" headass person, especially when it comes to food lol
And proud
Denny's should be a S tier for the "what the fuck is up Denny's" video alone
+ it’s always open. It should be at least c tier
Your authentic Chinese food take got me copin’ n seethin’
Now we need a coffee & donut shops list
More Finn talking about food! Love it.
This is important stuff. Thank you Finn for doing this.
As a present-day server at Olive Garden, I feel encouraged by you ranking them at S tier ✊🏻
I recently had salmon at olive garden, the Salmon was S tier, no lie. I didn't expect that at all but they nailed it for me and I've eaten a lot of salmon
I love when you make these kind of videos finn and your hilarious
Thank you!
My “Go To” in every city when I go to concerts is iHop, I always look up directions to the hotel, the venue & the nearest iHop 😂
The king of tier lists never disappoints. You could make a tier list for bagel toppings and I would watch it.
You know Finn, I’ve stood by you for years… controversial opinion after controversial opinion and I may have disagreed with you but I respected you
However putting dennys on the “F” tier is something I don’t think I can forgive…
Denny's is a franchise. The quality changes from place to place. The one in my city is decent and the staff are great, but i will not set foot in one just 5 miles from me because its like a different restaurant. I always get when people hate Denny's because that's the fate of franchised restaurants
Fun fact! The first time I was ever offered heroin was in the parking lot of the Allston IHOP. Unsolicited and from a stranger of course
Love your content, man 😊 I feel like you are a friend I've never met lol!
Thank you!
Aside from the cheesecake itself, Cheesecake Factory food isn’t actually frozen, contrary to Finn’s belief. Everything is made in house, surprisingly. Cheesecake itself is actually meant to be frozen, and many bakeries also freeze their cheesecake as well.
They have dishes that have over 100 grams of saturated fats and 3 days worth of sodium. You would be better off going to McDonald’s. The food is horrible for you.
Cheesecake factory is S tier for a chain if we're talking about the quality of the food
@@User-54631 saturated fat is not inherently bad for you. That's 80s thinking.
@@User-54631 doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste good though. Also, I guarantee that other chain restaurants are just as bad for you if not worse
Finn craves mediocrity. With a side of bread.
And that wet dish rag smell on the table.
I am now that mom who goes to Panera because my kid wants a bread bowl that she’s not going to eat filled with Mac & Cheese. Good times.
Ugh, the wet dish rag smell is bad. Something even worse that I've been trying to explaing to people for years (but apparently I am the only person who can smell it) is the wet/previously wet conveyer belt smell at a grocery store
@@ayeverbmotha5310 you’re not alone.
Awesome video Finn!
Your description of iHop is what Shari’s are like here in Oregon lol
The biscuits at Red Lobster are so good that they are the punchline of almost an entire episode of The Boondocks. man...I miss that amazing show. RIP John Witherspoon
Remember Finn, Dennys is for drunk people. Dont go there sober. You go there to attempt to sober up for the ride home.🤣🤣🤣
Finn talking about food gives me life.
If there is one thing I haven't grown out of, it's gatekeeping Panera. As a St Louis native, it's still known in my area as St Louis Bread Co. and I never fail to point that out to people. It's a wonder that I still have friends at this point.
I did not know that!
I got a sip club membership for Christmas so I've been going in every time I pass by.
I'm currently working at a local Panera chain restaurant and I can agree that Panera has the best food. Their new chicken sandwiches are the BOMB!
Panera is for hipsters who roll up their jeans
@@Brian-zg9ff thank you. I'll remember you when I'm sitting there eating French onion soup in my Timbs and my Spiritbox shirt
The hard hitting real issues. This is what I’m here for
Two minutes in and I'm already dying laughing over here. Can't wait to watch Finn's Fast Food Tier List vid, too!
Subscribed for your vast knowledge of punk music- I think it’s come to the point where I enjoy your tier list videos more than punk music videos! Your tier list videos are hilarious
Thank you!
IHOP & Dennys is so bad it’s needing to hit the bathroom immediately after the meal in the dirty restaurant stalls rather than say Applebees where your stomach allows for a little digestion time before hitting the bathroom in your home
Best chips and salsa tier list next 🙌🏽
Loved your opening mission statement - I too prefer going somewhere expecting familiarity snd flavourings! I’ve been to your country a few times and remember we went to Denny’s snd perhaps a Sizzler. Hard Rock Cafe was good but prob not chainy enough for the list. Sending extra-seasoned breadsticks your way. Thanks Finn! 🖤🌈
Man, there were some restaurants we dont get here on West TX, but no Chili's or the father of them all, the S-Tier of S-Tiers Cracker Barrel.
Dennys is the only restaurant on the planet where your food somehow comes out both cold and burnt.
Bread tier list would be awesome, dude
you ask how we execute that many menu items at TCCF. as a linecook my answer is sleep deprivation and drugs lmao each position has like 35-40 different dishes to memorize
I almost never agree with Finn McKenty's food tier list But it's always funny to listen to with these LOL!
One of my favorite childhood memories was going to Olive Garden followed by LOTR Two Towers opening weekend. My entire family are lifelong Tolkien fans (my dad actually lived downstairs from him for a year when he was in college just before Tolkien died) but we had second row seats in a huge theatre and everyone ended up falling into deep breadsticks comas and we had to go back the next day to see the whole thing without falling asleep.
Have a buddy that unironically eats at Denny’s. It could be like “hey dude where you wanna go eat” and he’ll say “idk Denny’s maybe” I’m like “bruh it’s 2pm on a Saturday”. He’s the homie but dude is a different breed I’ll just say that
Me and Waffle House
Most of this list pairs well with a corvette and a pair of new balance.
Gonna take Ronda out for a date night dinner at Applebees
gotta respect finns ability to have off the wall opinions and stand by them lmao
I haven't been to a Denny's since 1997, my family had an experience of really bad service and the food wasn't nearly good enough to justify it. I've avoided the place like the plague ever since.
love this bit, reminds me of Tim Dillons "corporate steakhouse" rant. Finn giving away those Toledo/CLE/Pittyburgh roots on this one. Good fun
We need more of these tier lists, Finnegan I watch this video every week
Your tier list content is always a riot. You have some good opinions about food, however I'd put Applebees a few pegs higher on the list.
Reheated lean cuisine
Applebee’s should be G tier. absolutely disgusting food
"Butter! That'll go great on my Grand Slam!" - Goku, DBZA
Top 20 Gnar songs tier list. My ears are bleeding! I love it!
Funny story about IHOP- i live nearby one and every time I've gone in that area the parking lot is always empty, like not even the employees are there. The worse part it's always vacant, any time of the day, everyday, EVEN IN THEIR HAPPY HOUR TIME. And yes it does have a crackhead vibe too. The last time my partner and i ate there we had a feeling like we were in the Backrooms diner dimension.
I love when you end up in some po-dunk town in the middle of nowhere and there isn't even a name to the restaurant. The sign just says: "EAT"
or sometimes the name of the restaurant is just 'restaurant'
All of a sudden my until now meh day feels very accomplished now that I've watched this. Important indeed. Educational even. Elevating, enlightening. Transformative. Transcending. Ah...
Top quality content right here
IHOP and Applebee’s should’ve been higher in my opinion, but everything else is SPOT ON… especially the analysis of the various breads and the Panera chips hahaha
1~ Jimmy's Buffet: Real Parrotheads also love their Cheeseburger in Paradise.
2~ Denny's has great Ranch Dressing that kicks the crap outta Hidden Val. An ex-employee told me it comes in a powder that they mix w/water. So anytime you go to a crappy place w/good Ranch good chance it's the powdered stuff. I pray one day they make it available to civilians- it's the only Ranch I like- I'd sip on it.
3~ "When you're here, you're family." S tier marketing via catchphrase.
Here in Cincinnati in the late 90s my Dad would absolutely terrorize and annoy the hell out of the waitresses at Red Lobster, asking for the cheesy biscuit recipe, after trying for what seemed like a year or so. A nice younger lady finally broke down and gave him the recipe. He made them and it was spot on, soooo damn good.
You know what these are opinions that I also have too haha. I wish I was there for the stream so I could use my input because I also have a love for chain restaurants haha
LOL! Cilantro is actually a small chain of restaurants here in New England. Fast food style tex-mex (like Moe's or Chipotle) that serves alcohol as well.
We have em in Cleveland too. Wonder if they’re the same.
These are the best videos haha
My BF was exposed to Hepatitis at Red Robin in Idaho. He had to go get a SERIES of vaccines after it was found out a worker there didn’t… properly sanitize their hands and had already exposed others to it 😬
so funny how here in mexico, places ike P.F.CHANGS and IHOP are almost fancy
A tier list for chain restaurant biscuits, bread and rolls would be awesome
if you took that same pasta dish from olive garden and told him it was from a restaurant that he likes he would instantly say "look how amazing that looks"
That’s definitely how he is lol
Euro here, I heard about Cheesecake Factory (in passing) in lots of podcasts I listen to and I always thought it was only cheesecakes. This changes everything!
The fact that Kwik Trip wasn't brought up as a restaurant equivalent is unbelievable ;P
I came for the Olive Garden take and you didn't disappoint. I'm out on the salad, but you nailed the meals. Because of that, the tier was bogus and you know it.
Bro thanks. U ain't lying at all.
Go rent the movie “Waiting” think office space for chain restaurants .. such a perfect movie for those who have worked in these places in my top 10 all time comedies
Finn McKenty is my spirit animal
Denny's is trash but it was always the hang out spot for my friends and me in our small town. I will always love it for that reason.
When Cinnabon pancakes come to IHOP, does that at least bump it to a 'C'?
Gonna need convenience store tier list next.
FYI, you can buy Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix at the grocery store.
North east has Perkins which is god tier Denny’s… Also where I grew up, right outside Scranton PA, there’s a massive Italian community and you can get incredible Italian-American fare everywhere. When they opened an Olive Garden there was literally a line around the block for months. Unfortunately this also speaks volumes about where I come from. Andes mints the bomb though. To be fair, the wings in the area are also on another level and no one would ever step foot in a Buffalo Wild Wings unless the kids wanted to play arcade games.
Applebee's is the template for chain bar and grills. We got one back in the mid 90's and it was like the place to be for a good decade or so, then it kind of dropped off. I think the demographic moved over to Perkins....
You must be from Ohio lol
@@FLINTmitten810 nope just a little bit farther south
@@WC_Beer_Reviews I’m not trying to be creepy or anything, lol. I’m from Michigan so almost anytime I’ve left the state I drive through Ohio, & they’re the only state I recall ever seeing a “Perkins” at.
the chicken quesadilla from BWW is straight fire, a little hack is ask for a side of honey bbq to dip in
The Sunday morning dream of going to Waffle House for a straightforward meal and nice cup of coffee then going to Lowe’s to get some mulch and check out their sale on work gloves.
Yea dude lol I know the one
I don't know what it's like where you guys live, but here in Utah, Red Robin is basically the new Chuck E Cheese. Mormons bring their family of 14 to dinner there, share 6 meals so they can mooch the fries, and instead of there being a jungle gym for the kids, they just let them run around the restaurant!
i love this, but i need you to tell me what i'm supposed to think about the pantera reunion
“What the fuck is up Denny’s!?”
This should be called "Finn's Ultimate Restaurant Bread Appetizer Tier List"
"Sea bugs" in reference to seafood. YES, thank you, I'm not the only one who thinks this!
This guy is the new authority on American food chains and products. The corpos are already taking notice.
agreed on the red lobster biscuits. when i found out you can buy them at the grocery store, i yelped like a 6 year old on christmas day
Nothing better than watching an American guy, talking about fast food and chain restaurants! A love story.
It's a good thing iv been to the States a bit so I know some of these places but dayum talk about the most American sentric video ever finn. First World problems tier list next please haha. Great vid.
Well i live in america so why would i talk about chain restaurants in korea or argentina?
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA I'll cover the British chains. 😅
There a Red Robin in Arlington, Texas which is outside of Dallas, Texas
Pizza Hut is like 5 star gourmet food in Shenghai and I freakin loved it. Beef Bowl from McDonald's and the double fish filet.....so good.
Bro I just went to a new IHOP near me last weekend and it was pretty good. For 3 people it only cost us about $70 CAD ($53 USD). The wait time was horrendous cuz it's new and the closest one is hours away in Niagara Falls so it's also way more expensive there. If it weren't so busy, It would get a solid thumbs up from me cuz the food was tasty.
Yeah I don't get his take on that one. You can't really screw up pancakes, and even if they aren't the highest quality in the world they are still delicious. The other non-pancake food I've gotten there has been decent, though standard. I would throw it in C tier
I agree with your synopsis of Olive Garden with one major exception. I love the salads, but I also love black olives. You get this whole huge bowl of salad but only two friggin olives??? It's in your friggin name! Two olives, do not a garden make.
Sorry, just had to get that out.
Agreed. More olives or i riot next time
Dude that same thing happened to me at Cheesecake Factory. Plastic wrap still on the underside of my chicken pizza thing.
I'll say it if no one else will. Finns a national treasure and should be protected at all cost. His tangents and one liners are legendary.
He’s a cool guy but I know like 3 Finns at my local record store lol
