The perspective of a squad leader is completely different from that of a fighting squad member. It’s not as action-packed and invovles a lot more staring at maps. This means that the focus and vibe of this gameplay is very different from my usual videos - how did you all find it? What’s something you wish I’d included more of, or included less of, in my edits?
Also, what do you think of the new font style?

Great video! I started playing Squad with my friends as a Squad Leader from the very first hours. And it was so tough to lead my buddies with so many information coming in. Your videos is a perfect way to study. Gave me lots of knowledge. With only 200 hours behind the back and your content I just feel I am more competent that some other 500-1000+ hours SLs. But I know I have a long way to improve. Thank you!

I've played some matches in PR as SL and my squad was named Buttplug, because we were literally a buttplug squad (but i think in america it's named QRF). It was a buttplug because i didn't know what exactly i need to do, so my squas was reinforcing every enemy breaktrough and almost every failed assault if there wasn't enough teammates. Few times i just used our squad as additional firepower (take as much machinguns and LATs as possible, climb some mountain up and kill everything you see). I remember as once we used this tactic and enemy had only one FOB that got destroyed, so we cleaned the floor by enemy soldiers and vechicles, but then got encircled because artillery pinned us down and it was a massacre. Also few times i used medic based squad, basically 2 whole squads was just a cover for medics to heal our teammates. It was like this: machinegunner, GL and AR suppressing enemy position, medics evacuating every one they can reach and rifflemans flanking position and try to kill enemy, or if it wasn't possible then also supress. I bet for enemy it was like fighting zombies, because it was really hard for them to stop that kind of push

I play alot of SL games, only thing I'd say is its alot different leading 8 people from your clan who want to play squad. I usually SL because I hate working under a bad SL a sort of lead by example mentality. But randoms in your squad can make or break an experience trying to get 8 men who want to win the same way I do is rare. Catch me on the field your videos are great. TWDW teamwork dreamwork o7.

This is why clans tend to steamroll anytime they pub. It’s why I joined one myself. They train you and give you experience until you’re the best as what you do. Then you try pubs one day and the chaos of randos get curb stomped because you got 1 Chris Kyle wannabe Lone wolf marksman, AT personnel that can’t hit the broadside of a logi and a medic freaking out because randos give up before they can get to them.

Great addition for the Squad community and as an individual who has read various manuals for fun and has applied the tactics and attempted to lead in such a professional manner. Fantastic!
I firmly believe this is a great start for anyone who wants to experience this sort of gaming simulation. Squad is certainly a team orientated game and I have experienced many who play as if it's the traditional person shooter. This is a game of teamwork, coordination and patience.
If you are really wanting to dive deep into the game. Start by opting for a support role. I.e. Logi runs, medic, reserve push, shovel operator and posting as security. As the game evolves and after many more games. you will certainly have an idea of the flow of it.
Also, let your Squad Leader know you are new and you're willing to learn the fundamentals. (you'll get the good and bad leaders but stay positive).
I hope that all that read this and watches this video, keeps to the game!!! because as crazy as it does get, there is no revive in the real world

Main problem is the people, i rarerly find some good people to lead, maybe at the start but then it goes downhill. And to kick 6/8 people because they dont even follow some basic instruction it feels tiring. My best matches were when my whole squad listened. I think people doesnt know how powerfull is that just 1 squad that works as a team. Not some extra-tactical stuff, but some simple tactics with 1 united squad can change an entire match.

1 Completely focused squad lead by an enthusiastic SL can accomplish almost anything. When you have a super cohesive squad that always fights together instead of apart, its an easy win. The hard part is getting 2-4 other SLs do the same is a tough ask sometimes.

    • @captainzork6109
      @captainzork6109 Місяць тому +1

At least in real life it's pretty doable to get random people organized - especially when you're there for the same thing. But you'd have to master the trick of being a 'natural' leader; it's typical group dynamics
This depends mostly on the setting you're given (what you organize for is what you get). It depends sometimes on the people you get as well
Unfortunately, it seems in Squad it is normal (as in, everyone else does it) to just do whatever you want. So that's an organizing force making people want to go solo.
An organizing force making people ready and willing to follow, is a person who suggests to work together as a real squad (read: leadership). One other factor which will make people more likely to follow you, is when others follow you (such as some friends or other enthusiastic randoms).
And finally, when people didn't make up their mind yet, and are still finding their bearings in terms of how to act, it also makes them susceptible to leadership. This situation takes place when people are new, but to a small extent also at the start of a new round. Because then expectations about how everyone behaves (read: norms) haven't been fully established for that round yet
Idk why I decided to write an essay on group dynamics in the comment section, but if you read it and find it useful: you're welcome ^^"

Once had a really good game squad leading where all my squadmates were experienced and we won the game by just 17 tickets by digging down the last enemy radio. My squad was good enough that they were able to bounce off a tigr and a rally to kill two radios and were even able to kill an attacking LAV.
I really like all the squad leading tutorials, but tutorials for the average grunt would be helpful too. Just going over basic tactical awareness like holding fire, disengaging, using concealment, etc because I feel like pubbies lack that.

The tactics videos I make are meant for every player to learn and apply, not necessarily just SLs. And my approach beyond that has been to show gameplay with explanations for why I do what I do - but maybe there’s more I could do on the minutiae of gameplay. Thanks for the feedback!

This round is a standout example of a round that went relatively well, but these also aren’t ultra rare on the 7th server either. Depends on who’s on to play.

I usually play on the 7th anyway and after playing with people there a bit it feels like ill probably end up getting more into that community to just try and find people to play with that arent assholes and bigots.

How to be squad lead: attack the point and place move markers to let your squad know where to go, plan ahead before leaving with logis, tell your squad members what your plan is (attack the point) and if all else fails delete the game cause it’s actually trash and if you want to be a leader you should stop doing it on video games and explore the real world possibilities.

Hey, it helped me. I started recently to grab more often sl kit as I like building stuff, and often, there are no squad leaders. Unfortunately, I find it sometimes overwhelming to guide nine people (I'm not too fond of locking the squad), so I try to tell the alpha team to stay with me in the background while b and c can enjoy the game. Alpha builds hab and mortars and machine gun nests - sometimes it is good, sometimes it is terrible :) But I don't give up
