In reality these studios have very few black devs they are mostly white women. I say this because this game is making black people look bad and they are not responsible for this.
Ubislop had 1 job. Make a decent AC game in Japan with a ninja protag. They could've used Hattori Hanzo who btw was an actual Assassin in AC lore affiliated with the Creed. People would've ate it up. But noooo, they just had to bring in the bbc LGBTHDTV samurai and fucc things up. It's like they're allergic to making lots of money smh.

I actually started playing Sakuna after you introduced it to us in a previous video. I genuinely enjoy it so much so that it sits as one of my favourite games of all time. I learned a lot about growing rice even as someone who has a background in farming corn and root vegetables. I don't know why they keep the sword as an object when it's sheathed. That is just asking for trouble. The sword and sheath only need to be separate objects when the sword is out. They're doing it the hard way. Or maybe that is easier but it's going to cause problems.
Probably because of in-game upgrades that would change the style of the blade, the handle, the tsuba, and/or the sheath. Need to make it as universal and interchangable as possible.

I would sugest to replace Yusaku armor with Daikatana's power armor from 25th Century. 😂 Or replace the Yusaku's first Kill mission by the Xenomorphs, Neomorphs and Predators. 😂 And Nobunaga was Mister Troll from Troll Physics 😂 He never died due to fire on his own Castle, he build a Troll Car and fly way using Izu magnets. 😂

I loved this vid and I remember your observations about Ubi's fantasy Yasuke having Kyuubi no Ita and Sendan no Ita on his armor despite not using a bow. I rewatched clips of the manga and anime Angolmois Genkou Kassenki, which is set during the Mongol Invasions of Japan. There, warriors using a bow have Kyuubi no Ita and Sendan no Ita on their armor. Meanwhile, the ones who were not using a bow don't have them on. This is good detail as it is dependent on the warrior if he puts it on or not. Anyways, I really hope AC Shadows tank hard, especially, when you learn that the reason for the character change was based on a certain druggie.
About kintsugi and instruments, I've actually seen a youtube video of an ocarina maker/player that has and plays a kintsugi'd ocarina. I think It's not a big deal because the sound comes from the air vibrating through the holes, and not from the instrument itself vibrating or reverberating sound like in, I dunno, a violin.
I wouldn't be surprised if they confused Chinese and Japanese periods during their "research". I am 100% convinced they stole Zoro's sword design by accident because they googled "Oda sword" and confused Oda Nobunaga with Oda Eiichiro (One piece mangaka).
The Sekigahara Teppoutai banner is still in the game? I thought that got removed instantly. It's crazy to think Ubi's just ghosting them when the solution is as simple as swapping out a texture.

Issekai is too Japanese for Ubi. Unless BL Issekai exists. Then Ubi might know. Yasuke being in Japan is kind of an Issekai already. He didn't belong in that world.

There is one rule in game development that often gets forgotten, don't use placeholder textures. Because they're going to still be there when the game launches. Placeholder textures are whatever someone in the office finds that fits, usually art which doesn't belong to the company. If you can't keep track of your placeholders then don't use them at all, use a neon colour instead so at least then you won't be costing everyone potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars when you look like an idiot. And when things are just a blaringly magenta hue it can be something you look back on and laugh at, because that was silly but it didn't hurt anyone and was easy to notice and fix. The other rule is to at least do a google search about a thing before you decide to waste work hours implementing it. But then again I get it, why would I spend two hours saving myself from doing ten plus hours of work that turn out like trash when I could just make the trash and double down whenever someone points it out? I'm not wrong, everyone else is... clearly. Unironically a person in charge using a search engine would save a lot of game studios from making obvious missteps.

The engine probably treats the handle and the blade as a single sword object. Hiding the blade part would also hide the handle.

There is one rule in game development that often gets forgotten, don't use placeholder textures. Because they're going to still be there when the game launches. Placeholder textures are whatever someone in the office finds that fits, usually art which doesn't belong to the company. If you can't keep track of your placeholders then don't use them at all, use a neon colour instead so at least then you won't be costing everyone potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars when you look like an idiot. And when things are just a blaringly magenta hue it can be something you look back on and laugh at, because that was silly but it didn't hurt anyone and was easy to notice and fix.
The other rule is to at least do a google search about a thing before you decide to waste work hours implementing it. But then again I get it, why would I spend two hours saving myself from doing ten plus hours of work that turn out like trash when I could just make the trash and double down whenever someone points it out? I'm not wrong, everyone else is... clearly.
Unironically a person in charge using a search engine would save a lot of game studios from making obvious missteps.
