Thanks so much for this very clear explanation of the many setting available on the X-T2 I feel much more clear on several points. please continue to post more. Your voice is pleasant to hear and your pace of dialogue is easy to follow.
Great Tip regarding the T Setting for the shutter speed. I have been using the top shutter speed dial manually and using the "T & rear dial" is much better! I also set the Exposure Compensation to the C setting and control using the front dial. So that the rear dial depressed custom setting isn't wasted I set this to Flash control as its something I rarely use. You could also may eye focus or white balance to it as its not a setting you tend to mess about with much.
You helped me immensely. My T2 is brand new and I may shoot with it using your settings at the end of September. If you have any more tips on weddings using this camera please send me to your tutorials or any written advise. Thanks again. I have three weeks to put your settings to good practice.
Hello Andy, thank you for sharing this great video about this amazing camera. I just bought a used X-T2 with a Fuji 27MM f2 XF , and would like to know if it is normal for the Fujifilm x-t2 lens to move (focus back and forward) for a couple seconds when you press the Play button after you take a shot to view the photo you took?
I must be slower at picking up settings for my XT2 than others who have already posted. 90%+ of the time, I shoot in Aperture priority. Believe being able to set it up from the six pages of menu choices which I don't find all that difficult to follow. For portraits, people shots, set on fastest f stop and it shooting landscapes, pretty hard to go wrong with f8-16 ( at slowest). Be pleased to see how you would go about it. Thanks for the sensibly explained video.
Thank you so much for this! Just bought a X-T2 as a personal travel camera, but with the possibility of it replacing my 5d III for weddings. Feeling a bit overwhelmed after getting it out the box as its so different to Canon but this is making me feel a lot better :)
nice tutorial. knowing your preferences for your usage helps me understand why i prefer some other settings. can you talk about the settings seen on the rear lcd (particularly the over/underexpose marker), which fuji has decided to not address?
Extremely useful; Thanks for sharing! My XT-2 just arrived & this will assist with the learning curve (lighter weight system from my 1D Mark IV's & L glass). Have you found the series 1 SD cards to be sufficient when recording 4K video (if applicable)? Thanks.
These tips are very useful. hank you. Question, have you thought about upgrading to the X-H1? You are using non-image stabilized lenses. The X-H1 with IBIS would allow you to use slower shutter speeds, and therefore lower ISO's (with the non-stabilized lenses).
Great setup video, just got my X-T2 and learning a lot. Can you provide details on the bottom mounts you had on each camera? Also just learned what the T was for on the shutter wheel :-)
I am in particular working on Portrait photography - primarily natural light. I would like you comment on the best lens to use. I am now using the 18-55mm. Bought a 35 mm that I barely use..... any suggestion is welcome.
Hi Andy , Like your videos , Some good tips there , I have the XT2 its so light compared with my Canon 5D mk 3 . Looking forward to your next one , Cheers mate .
Hi Andy how do you find the high ISO. I shot a wedding recently and was disappointed with iso and I only went to 200 max. Especially as you use a higher iso
Hi Andy, thanks for the tips, much appreciated. Can you tell me the name of the grip which you like? You mention the Meike, or whatever the correct name is. I can find that one. But the one you prefer? Thanks)
Hi Robert, it is this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quick-Release-L-Bracket-Plate-Hand-Grip-For-Fujifilm-Fuji-X-T2-XT2-Camera-UK/262733918928?epid=2080285974&hash=item3d2c2972d0:g:txkAAOSwE8NZlpIr
I recently found that out. Manfrotto advertised their Element Traveler tripod as Arca Swiss compatible, which they are clearly not. I almost dropped my Fuji X-T2 when trying to use the tripod for the first time with the original Fuji grip attached. Almost. I sent the tripod(s) back immediately.
Great video - I learnt a lot from this. Can I ask, I noticed your metering dial was set to Spot - do you use this all of the time? Also, am I right in thinking you only use the 23mm and 50mm? If so, that sounds a great idea rather than dragging around bags of lenses that you may never use. Cheers!
+Mike Mulcahy Hi Mike, I am always on spot metering, it works for me. Those two lenses are my only ones at the moment, there have been times when a wider lens would have been good but it’s fine at the moment. I am looking at options for something a little wider mainly for dance floor shots.
Even it it’s just temporary. The Sam yang 12mm f2 is excellent optically and can be one focused for dance floor shots. Unless you must have AF you will not be disappointed.
Thanks for the video! Good info. Mind if I asked where you got the lens hood for the 23? Might be me, but it looks bigger than the Fuji supplied one that comes with the lens. Thanks again!
I’m not the best photographer in the world but I do love being creative and taking as many pics as I can. I think I’m gonna buy the X-T20 I know it’s not weather proof but it’s almost like the X-T2 it’s crazy!
Hi, it would be the cheaper one not the Meke one Boliner Quick Release Black Metal L-Plate Bracket Hand Grip For Fujifilm Fuji X-T2 Camera www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XKWNNDY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_yekpAbEVNX5MJ
i went from full frame A series Sony to the Fuji X-T2. Smaller, lighter setup, images quality and colour science is pretty great, and the difference between full frame and APS-C really isn't all that big.
This is exactly what we need, a wedding photographer talking about their gear on UA-cam! Thank you. Why oh why is there so few wedding photogs on YT? And there is literally no info about the X-T2 on the internet. God bless you Andy! This content is priceless and no one, absolutely no one else is doing this sort of stuff. I have been taking photographs for sixty years and I had no idea how to set up my camera for wedding photography without this video. Thank you!!! I was going to see the new Blade Runner film tonight but the moment I saw a new Andy Hirst video had been posted I cancelled all my engagements. I now know how you set up your X-T2 for weddings!!! I' m so excited I bought up a little bit of sick. THANK YOU.
It amazes me that you obviously have a lot of distain for this video, yet have taken the trouble to watch it and compose a series of comments like this. You clearly are a nasty person, probably very unhappy too! get a grip - this guy is amazing and one one the nicest people. Take your sarcasm and stick it up your arse - it might make you stop talking a load of complete FART. You clearly sure as hell haven’t got anything else going for you ( 60 years experience or not ) Two words = Victor Meldrew!
I really like lens and want to sell a couple of mine to get it. its ideal for me as a holiday all rounder lens but yes its quite big. Im tempted to change totally from canon but will slim down my canon gear first. btw my favourite fuji lens is the 16mm 1.4.
The "T" adjustment with the shutter works so great!
I just bought a T2 for my birthday/business and I am so excited! This will be my first mirrorless. Thanks for sharing. Very helpful!
Thanks so much for this very clear explanation of the many setting available on the X-T2
I feel much more clear on several points. please continue to post more. Your voice is pleasant to hear and your pace of dialogue is easy to follow.
The only XT-2 setup guide you need. Thank you very much Andy. Hope to see new videos soon.
Andy, thank you for the science. I just picked a X-T2 and I can't wait to use it!!!
Appreciate the walk through, Andy! Very helpful. I'd be interested in more videos like these, please.
Hi Andy just bought my XT2 this week and slowly getting used to it. Found these settings real useful and keep up the great videos!
Andy Martin tnm Ul
Very useful stuff, and the fact that your work is brilliant makes all this more relevant. Thanks!
Awesome job mate. Great insight on how to manage my backups and i never knew what T did on the shutter wheel until now :D thanks.
Very nice tutorial Andy. I don't do weddings but I can use your settings to adapt to my own use. Many thanks.
Thanks! I had somehow missed that dual-display option for the focusing, and went and found it after seeing this. Neat!
Super helpful. Even though I'm not a wedding photographer, I did pick up the X-T2 and am still experimenting with set up configurations. Well done!
Just bought a X-T2.This was very helpful.Thank you.
Thanks Andy for sharing your settings! I'm getting my new XT2 tomorrow and this will help me get a good start. Greaat video!!

Hey Andy, just checked this out, nice and easy flow, engaging and it helped me a lot cheers

Thanks for the sensibly explained video.
Good details. You should consider adding links to accessories and lenses you have on those puppies.
Thanks for the video. Some useful tips and very clearly explained.
I've fallen at the first hurdle! How do I get the info screen that you are using?
Great video. Very useful to this XT2 newbie. Thanks!
Thanks so much for this walk-through. Immensely helpful - really appreciate you taking the time.
Would you change the set up for street and travel photography?
How do I get my screen like this with all the settings? I can only get half of them on my XT2
Some really useful setup ideas. Cheers Andy

Nice walkthrough, thanks for posting.
Very clear!
Great settings! Gonna implement some of them. Thank you for sharing.

Enjoyed that and some very useful information. Hope you can sort out the volume issue but still a 9/10 effort.
Great setup video, just got my X-T2 and learning a lot. Can you provide details on the bottom mounts you had on each camera? Also just learned what the T was for on the shutter wheel :-)
loved it mate like to see various set up ect. mines set up completely different btw thanks
Thanks for the video. I picked up some suggetions I can use. Can you explain why you set the highlight tone to -2?
I am in particular working on Portrait photography - primarily natural light. I would like you comment on the best lens to use. I am now using the 18-55mm. Bought a 35 mm that I barely use..... any suggestion is welcome.
recently got the xt2 with the grip but the grip is detecting that the batteries are depleted even when fully charged. any solution to this?
Hi Andy , Like your videos , Some good tips there , I have the XT2 its so light compared with my Canon 5D mk 3 . Looking forward to your next one , Cheers mate .

Can I ask if you know where I can find the tiny screws at the base of the camera near the 1/4 20 screw ???
Very useful thinking, thanks, helped a lot.
Thank you so much for your time and knowledge .
Andy, thx very helpfull in getting to know my XT2. any other video coming?
THANK YOU!!!! A great help ... When "tracking" are you using Zone Focus or Single Point??
Hi Helen, for tracking its normally in the centre slightly high or low depending on the angle.
Many thanks! Appreciate you taking the time to reply..
thx very helpfull, do you have advise on settings outdoor/nature shooting settings?
Thanks for sharing, Andy!
your video helped a lot, thanks
Just bought a used one for 850 USD BRANDNEW CONDITION hehe anyway excited. thanks for this video. this wil be my first camera as well
Hope you enjoy it!
Nice.Saw some of your weddings pics .Is the 'film look' post processed grain or noise due to the high shutter speed and high iso?
+Antonios Paro it’s processed grain.
Great.Quite challenging fully manual focusing on weddings
+Antonios Paro it’s only for certain shots 90% af

Small correction, those hand grips have Arca Swiss bases not Manfrotto.

+Jordan V It came with the lens, I bought it second hand.
Fujifilm LH-XF-35........is compatibel with the 23mm f2.
Really helpful, thank you .
We have the same setup. And i want to master this 23//50 combo.
dude your content is great, where did you gooo

Andy Hi can settings be saved somehow on SD card incase of Camera rest like on Canon ?
Hi Grant, Yes recently Fuji released FUJIFILM X Acquire which can save the settings and copy to another camera but you use a computer to do it.
hello an advice please, which handle of the 2 is thicker? I have big hands thank you.

Interesting video, subscribed :-)
Why you switched from cannon full frame to Fuji crop sensor camera
i went from full frame A series Sony to the Fuji X-T2. Smaller, lighter setup, images quality and colour science is pretty great, and the difference between full frame and APS-C really isn't all that big.
ANT1PK do you love fuji better than sony?
Volume.???
How did I change the setting screen to yellow ?
You
Which part are you referring to?
How is the xt2 performance without the battery grip verse with it for wedding work
Totally fine, go through 5-6 batteries per wedding across 2 bodies. Much lighter and more fun to use.
thanks for your reply. are you using the 23 and 50 f2 for your weddings or are you using the faster 23 or 56
I’m using the f2 23/50 combo. I would take faster af over and extra stop. Hoping to add the 16mm pretty soon
maurice hector f2 & f1.2 (is surely faster)
Andy Hirst Photography 16mm f1.4 is perfect for group photo very sharp lens
whats the grip on the one on the left?
That’s the meke grip. I sold that and got another of the cheap eBay ones as it fits my hand better.
I have maxed my volume and stil only 20% of other average u tube volume max....
👍

There are tons of wedding photographers talking about thier wedding settings on utube, lol, are you not searching correctly
Doing photography for 60 years and still don't know how to setup a camera?
did you sell your zoom?
+hello Jennifer yeah it was a bit too heavy which defeated the purpose of the Fuji’s.
I really like lens and want to sell a couple of mine to get it. its ideal for me as a holiday all rounder lens but yes its quite big. Im tempted to change totally from canon but will slim down my canon gear first. btw my favourite fuji lens is the 16mm 1.4.
I’m sooo glad I don’t have to shoot weddings!
Just please don't share how did you set up your microphone...
your volume is way too quiet
Had the 23mmF2...very disappointed
Do you have instagram?
Yes @andyhirstphoto
sound too low
U must have your bad video sound even before publishing ????
