Sorry about the lower quality recording. During Phendrana cleanup (when going towards the Artifact of Sun,) I was getting Encoding problems on OBS, so unfortunately that part of the run is laggy. This is an export of my Twitch highlight.

FAQ:
Q: Why are the scans instant?
A: After beating the game, if you choose to save over your file, you can start a new game with everything you've already scanned.
Q: Why are you playing on Casual mode? You're bad!
A: It's faster. I have played this game since the original and have beaten it hundreds if not thousands of times, so making the difficulty higher does nothing for me except make the run longer.
Q: Why are you using Pointer controls?
A: Simply because I used to speedrun the Wii version of this game, and it feels natural to me. The precision with aiming just isn't matched by any other control scheme in my opinion. The disadvantage to it is that you can't turn as fast as the Dual Stick or Hybrid control schemes, but I don't really care about that.

This run is still overall sloppy, but I nailed all of the hard tricks in this run. Overall happy for now.

Simply incredible run. So many flawless splits.
A good attempt overall. I understand being happy with an overall good attempt. I'm more or less happy with my in-sequence quick run--not a speed run--of 4:52. Wasn't really pushing it, but I wanted to see if I could get under 5 hours. I have under 7 hours for the harder difficulties at 100%. Could probably do the Normal difficulty at less than 6 hours. Maybe later lol

Faster than samuraman's current any% pb and only 13ish mins longer than the current any% wr. I know some boss fights like Thardus are faster in 100% but still this is hella impressive

after you beaten Thardus, wouldnt have it been better if you went back to the Gravity Suit, picked everything up there, and then went through the labs?

Badass run. Also damn, I never knew about the hidden platforms at 1:45:47...I hate that room
He was actually doing that ice beam version intentionally to make two cutscenes happen simultaneously to save time (instead of them playing out separately back-to-back). Not a very obvious thing to see at face-value, but I've watched Metroid Prime speedruns for a long time, haha 😋

How do you jump without the power bomb? I am having a hard time double jumping with the power bomb, trying to get the last energy cell.

The power bomb doesn't give any jumping abilities. U probably mean the morph ball bombs. U cant jump without them. Once u get them u also get an ability called spring ball which actually wasn't in the original metroid prime for gamecube. Hope this helps?
Ah you mean in magmoor caverns next to phendrana's elevator? Just press X while in morph ball after getting the bombs
has anyone ever tried the tricky double bomb +jump from Samus' ship instead of the smol rock?

what happens if you get Ice Spreader before Ice Beam? it wont allow using Ice Beam, or will it
If you’ve seen door randomizers or perhaps randomizers in general, then you’d know the answer
But the answer is no, you need both ice beam and ice spreader to use the ice spreader, and enough missiles too
Samus noclips into the backroom if u collect ice spreader first

@@BMW-sd6nn this is the main category runners are doing. It’s not about the difficulty of the enemies it’s about the difficulty of the tricks and sequence breaking

@@BMW-sd6nn for speedruns for this game, most play on casual. The challenge is in beating the game as quickly as possible, not in the enemies health. There are no hard speed runs for this game rn, mainly because it just isn’t more interesting, just longer
Is this technically a items 100% run as creature scans/scans in general are left alone?
Getting all the scans is considered 200%, it’s a separate category
What control scheme is he using ??
Pretty sure it's the motion control scheme, kinda works like the wii-mote pointing, but not exactly.
