Among my preferred aspects of crochet is making things for friends and family. You can't get any better than handmade gifts like these easy crochet leg warmers, which are easy and fast to develop especially when it´s for kids.
I understand that this time of the year, we're thinking of others, but sometimes, we must make things for ourselves too! I have wanted to make a pair of leg warmers for the longest time now, and I'm so pleased that I finally have. Is it me, or do they make every outfit look 10 times cuter?
When the cold weather starts, I generally live in leggings. On those freezing days, I even double up my leggings! I'm not the only one who does that? Doubling up on leggings makes me feel extra warm, but it's not the most practical thing.
That's where these crochet leg warmers enter into play!
Each of these kids leg warmer is a plain one-piece rectangle sewn together to make a tube.
The central part of the leg warmer is a mix of easy stitches, which creates a lovely ribbed texture. And the ribbing adds a gratifying knit/purl look!
This is an excellent chance to learn a new skill if you haven't attempted to crochet a ribbing before. It's not a tricky stitch, but it needs a little practice to get the tension right. I think it's well worth the effort, though, as it provides such beautiful neat ribbing.
