Pulitzer Prize winning author Dr. William Taubman is the Bertrand Snell Professor Political Science Emeritus at Amherst College and is the author of a number of books including, most recently, Gorbachev: His Life and Times as well as Khrushchev: The Man and His Era, for which he won a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Critics Circle Award. He has also authored Stalin’s American Policy: From Entente to Detent to Cold War and Moscow Spring which he co-authored with his wife, Dr. Jane Taubman. Beyond his impressive historical and literary credentials Dr. Taubman has received the Karel Kramer Medal of the Czech Republic and the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation.
