And for those, who continue to say something about Khruschev presenting Crimea to Ukraine - it was an economical solution. Still, everyone forgets that some territories of Ukraine were taken from the Ukrainian Soviet Republic and attached to russian soviet republic. Thus, no reassessment of borders after the 1991 year should happen, otherwise, there will be endless discussions of who should own what

I was looking for it here but it seems that on yt you publish only conversations in English. Maybe it would be possible to share your interviews conducted in Russian with English subtitles, too? Russia and USSR was never good for Ukraine in any option. I think the scholar should really look up the Ukrainian history before talking and when asked about Ukraine he talks about mgu ))) its all one need to know how well he knows the subject
Have to disagree with his ideas on holding (forced from outside) referendums in Crimea, he admits his lack of understanding of history on this topic, he should fix this.

Russians are slaves and they will never rise against this authorities, and against Putin in particular. They might've hated him and all his gang and all, but they would never get their asses up and do something with all this mess. They can sit at their kitchens eat and drink, and at the same time to scold and even to curse Mr.Putin's policy and all. But they NEVER do a thing to improve the state of things around themselves. They are a sort of perfect slaves, who are ready to eat each other rather then being imprisoned or anything. Yea,of curse, he(or she) would be agree with you while you're disscusing or swearing the government,Putin and all. But then that guy on returning to his home made a call to FSB or another place. And what then? You are arrested,beaten and stamped into dust, that,s all. There's was russian writer, Sergey Dovlatov and he said such words: Of course, we do not take all the blame off Stalin(for GULAG,and purges,and all)but I'd like to ask you,who wrote 4 millions denunciations. Something like that he said. I quoted by my heart that's why I might've not been correct. And yes I am half russian. My father is russian and my mather is russian-speaking cheremissian(or mary,as they are named now). And I still live in the very heart of Russia, in the republic Mary El, which is stationed in so called Central Russia, or UpperVolga region. And I can witness everithing with the help of my eyes and ears. And I daresay to you that there's ,and there would not be any good issue from such a sad state for this people
@@denisov9331Thank you. Russian history is so different than ours. I am reading. We fought slavery and it took a long time after the slaves were freed for them to be actually free. And still it takes longer for equality. Russians had their serfs and have been used to being ruled by authoritarians...Czars. Culturally Russians seem to have been trained to be afraid of their government. The punishments of exercising freedom or having dissident views continue make people silent and afraid. Rule by fear. There are examples of bravery to see which feed the fears of rising up. People seem to believe the propaganda when they can't get the truth. The Russian government is not of the people, nor by the people nor for the people. Sure we here fail and we have flaws but we keep those ideals and ]divided and changing leadership.. so far. Russians accept being placated and threatened. We can see Russia's power is diminishing now when it could be truly great. In this globally smaller world, this matters a lot when such a leader who has carefully crafted his loyalists, and the self interested power seekers around him, affect the whole world. The war on Ukraine must inevitably come home to the Russian people. It hurts to see the beautiful glittering photos of winter in Moscow, the magical Kremlin, on this holiday- and then we see the terrible devastation Russia has visited on Ukrainians. The real beauty is in those people who fight to survive this cruel assault every day. Thank you for writing.
