I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and having spotting and bleeding today. This gives me a little comfort and not to worry a lot. I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow or go to hospital.

That is scary!! Sorry TMI ahead: When I was prgnant with my second son the entire toilet bowl was filled with blood. It scared the hell out of me. I told my sister in law and we left for ER right away. I had the same tests done and thankfully it turned out to be nothing scary. He will turn 7 in May. Pregnancy is one of the most stressful but beautiful time. Im glad that you and baby are healthy and well.

I went through the exact same thing at week 6 too! My spotting lasted about 2/3 weeks and then never again. Freaked out every time I saw blood. I also never got any sickness and I'm currently 30weeks :) All the best!

Thank you all for commenting. It's nice to not feel so alone. I've been spotting for almost two weeks, last 2 days got heavier. Almost no morning sickness, no cramping, which I'm hoping is a good sign. Called doctor today, went to the lab for blood tests. Go again this Wednesday to see if HCG levels are going up. Trying to stay positive. Wishing everyone out there all the best.

I had a bad feeling about my pregnancy since day 1. I started spotting at 6 weeks. Went to my OB in the morning. Sadly, he told me my baby had stopped growing... My body was already trying to reject it. That same day in the afternoon, I started having heavy cramps and the spotting turned into a big mess. Worst part is that I was at my nephew's 8th birthday. My husband and mother were there. I bared through the pain, and I didn't say anything to them to not spoil my nephew's special day... I remember almost passing out in the hall way due to the pain. Nature is cruel but your body knows what to do,better than you. If it stops growing, there is no need to hold on to it. Some stories have happy endings, and I find joy in reading them, others don't ❤

I had spotting too and it freaked me out. I was crying my heart out but the doctor said it was fine he saw me immediately and got the same kind of ultrasound and it actually TMI it made my spotting worse. I prayed a lot to keep myself calm but i had that for about a week and it wasn't just a little bit. That was probably the longest week in my life but everything turned out good I'm now 34 weeks and super excited to have my little boy. The scariest day of my life happened when I was 29 weeks pregnant. Woke up in the middle of the night to pee and found a moderate amount of blood after wiping. I was medivac'd to Oahu (we don't have a NICU on Maui) and put on strict bedrest. Apparently a part of my placenta has detached which caused the bleeding. Thank God everything turned out fine and I was able to deliver at full term to a healthy and beautiful baby girl=). I'm glad you went to your OBGYN to get checked. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. Aloha!

Just saw this - yes, I had two hematomas rupture while I was on a plane at 5 weeks pregnant and I thought I was losing him because I bled through my clothes and onto the plane seat. I opted not to have an emergency landing because I didn't want to disrupt all the other passengers but I took the first flight home and I went on bed rest but as you know, the hematomas went away and now Russell is 9 months old :) Still the scariest thing ever.

Glad everything is ok:) if something like that happens around your regular period time, that's normal, your body may be on its old routine, but it's always good to check with your doctors, and all those symptoms : short breath, tired , crying ...All normal, you'll feel more energy and better appetite in 2-3 weeks or so, and I'm sure you are having a boy :)

I experienced this in my 2nd trimester and was put on bed rest, I had to quit my job. The same happened to my Mom when she was carrying me. Everyone is different, so you did the right thing by seeing your doctor. NO Google!! LOL... Always consult your doctor when something abnormal happens, no matter how small. It will keep you calmer to know exactly what is going on. Take it easy, and invest in a body pillow if you don't already have one. The pillow will really come in handy once you get further along. It will you give you something to rest your belly on when you are on your side while relaxing or sleeping. Great video Jen, wishing you the best!

Exhaustion is normal during this time. Your body is going to take EVERYTHING away from you and give it to your baby. FYI from conception to 12 weeks is one of the most crucial time of development (its the time your baby's central nervous system/brain is developing and hence the importance of prenatal vitamins with folic acid.

PSA: For those of you who don't know and are trying to get pregnant, miscarriages are incredibly common--somewhere like 1 in 3-4 pregnancies will end in miscarriage. Keep in mind this happens to perfectly healthy people who eventually do have children, so it is not YOU necessarily. It can happen for so many different reasons; chromosomes not lining up for whatever reason, and a lot of times it'll happen so early on that your doc can't give you the exact reason either. I had no idea of this statistic until I had a missed miscarriage (where the baby stops growing but nothing happens, as in you don't bleed out as most people believe miscarriages are) myself last year. We never saw a heartbeat, and it was still quite early on maybe 6-7 weeks, but gutwrenching all the same. One second you are pregnant, and the next you're not and they want you to go into surgery to clean out all the stuff next week. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and super excited for Jen (and me!) but am still being cautiously optimistic due to my earlier experience. It's an exciting time but thought this was important to share.

My mom spotted through out all of her pregnancies. I also spotted during mine. However, I did actually miscarry at about 7 weeks. But it was due to an accident, not the spotting. So just watch the spotting and you'll be fine! :D So happy for you guys!

I am 29 weeks pregnant mow and had the same bleeding as you at 5 weeks! Although mine was darker red with a few clots so I completely freaked and went to the hospital! I also had an ultrasound done and everything was fine, doctor said it was most likely just implantation bleeding.
I bled again at 13 weeks but again, everything was fine. That time they said it was most likely old period blood coming out (TMI, I know! Lol)

don't worry Jen. the first 3 and the last 3 months are the most uncomfortable. Remember to enjoy your pregnancy, because it goes by sooo fast.. don't be like " I was so tired, or so uncomfortable, or I can't wait for this and this to happen" even if its a comfortable pregnancy, enjoy every single moment, write your memories down, or take pictures, or videos because it will be over so fast and your little bundle of joy will be here before you know it.

i went through basically the same thing when i was pregnant last year. i had spotted on several occasions during my first trimester and they didn't stop until shortly into my second trimester. the first couple times it happened, i just freaked out so much cos the blood was bright red and i knew that it could potentially mean the worst. i also didn't get morning sickness, but i did get the fatigue! i was just SO tired all the time and i had to take naps just to get through the day, whereas i never took naps before the pregnancy. the fatigue also went away in the second trimester, but came back in the third trimester.
if you don't already have one, i highly recommend getting a body pillow to sleep with! i got a long, C-shaped one and it was sooo comfortable. using it to help support your growing tummy helps a lot. it's even comfortable without the belly :D

+ReiKoko also, i know just how fun those transvaginal ultrasounds can be! i had IVF done to get pregnant so i basically had to have a lot of them before and during the first several weeks of pregnancy. i also called my baby jelly bean during the pregnancy :D my mother-in-law still calls him JB for short haha.

Don't worry. You will be so happy when ur baby will start moving. I waited so much to feel my baby moving inside, and i felt it like a fish moving, making waves in water. That was such a happiness! 😭 And u will forget everything, all these inconveniences, when you'll hold ur baby for the first time.
I heard that some women even had their full menstrual periods during the whole their pregnancy.

That's always very scary. I had the same thing happen to me at 10weeks and I ended up getting an ultrasound and baby was fine we heard a healthy heartbeat but for some reason I kept bleeding for 2weeks almost 3..and out of nowhere I stopped spotting. These type of situations always make u think the worst. 😕

Jen, thanks so much for sharing your pregnancy story! I've followed you since you first started (just changed youtube names several times) and while we're not quite ready for a family yet, my hubs and I have baby fever lol. It's so great to see what you're going through and the honesty in which you're talking about this is reassuring.

Try your best to stay stress free! Don't feel guilty about anything with your pregnancy; you're pregnant! You have extra hormones WAY stronger than your run of the mill period happening right now. During the first and third trimesters you are going to be exhausted. The second trimester is pretty much the only time you're going to feel "back to normal" so get a lot of your baby prep done then. Good luck and please remember stay positive!

So glad it all worked out. Yes, goggling can terrify a first time pregnant person but it can also be a help if used correctly. I guess the old adage "take it with a grain of salt" applies here.

Oh Jen~you're so productive compared to me! I also had spotting at 5 weeks that freaked the heck out of us (also went to ER) and right after knowing everything was fine (took us a week cause baby was too small to be seen clearly) I started morning sickness from 6-12 weeks which I just laid in bed all day long. Don't feel guilty! Growing a human is very hard work and it's truly the beginning of it where you feel your body (and brain) changing the most.

My OB wouldn’t do an ultrasound because I was early (5 weeks) and later that week I started spotting (called them and they said it’s normal) well the following days it started to get to the point where it was like a light period with small clots. I went into my doctors office later that day and they did an ultrasound but all they did was measure everything inside. They didn’t show me the ultrasound, I didn’t hear a heart beat...nothing ( I was 6 weeks at that point) so now I’m waiting until Monday to go in and they’ll do an ultrasound to see if I’ve miscarried because my labs came back abnormal. HcG was 369 and my progesterone was 1.5 I’m praying into existence that they’ll find a heartbeat on Monday....I’m still slightly bleeding and it’s going on day 6 with little to no bleeding now....whereas for two days it was slightly heavy with clots....I just need lots and lots of prayers. Prayers that the lining in my uterus is strong and very very adhesive. The nurse told me that the lining in my uterus may not be thick enough because my progesterone was low etc. I’m just trying to stay positive at this moment. The cramping has stopped now with little to no bleeding or clots 🤞🏻🤞🏻

hormones are so real though Jen! think of how tired or bloated or just different we feel just during our periods! your body is going through so much more right now, and expending so much energy trying to make a person! don't feel bad just because you can't physically see the changes that are happening yet.

Its called implantation bleeding. Which is normal during pregnancy as long as its minimal. My DR told me it could be related to stress or lack of sleep. So yes stay far away from web md & negative thoughts. Its always safest to consult with your physician of course to have that peace of mind. I hope you have a safe pregnancy experience. I found out in October of last year too so our estimated date of delivery should be around the same time. (:

The brain farts are absolutely normal...I found that it for worse the further along the pregnancy I got. Be kind to yourself about it! :)
The things about kids is that the worry just changes from one thing to another. Soon the baby will be here and there will be a ton of other things to be worried about. I love your approach of staying calm and logical. I'm sure that'll come in handy later on!

I was super paranoid about bleeding even though thankfully it never happened. I did have problems with cramping and had a hard time keeping hydrated as I live in a very dry climate. At 27 weeks I went to the ER with dehydration after travel and my friend had the same thing happen to her at 27 weeks also after travel so make sure you keep drinking your water 🍼🍼🍼 Congratulations on your baby! 🍼🍼🍼😊😊

I recently got my height taken at my new doctor's and I am only 148 centimeters tall which is 4'10.27" hehe. I weigh like 118 lbs and it feels blah, I'm trying to get back to my comfortable 98-100 lbs, but going slow and steady to get there.
I am glad I'll have these videos of yours to look back on whenever or if ever I am pregnant. I am turning 26 tmrw feb 13th! So in my mind that means I am in the realm of time of my life where pregnancy might not actually be all that far off!

Glad everything is ok!! Being tired is ok!! You're going through a major change. You have a little bean growing inside of you and that'll take a lot out of you so it's ok if you want to rest in bed all day. It'll get easier when you get to your second trimester, I promise! I have 3 boys and I understand 300% where you are coming from! Rest up, take naps, and relax. Remember those things are good for you and "Bean"!

Yes you can call it baby or however you want. They are human beings just like us, fetus is just a classifying name due to their stage of development like todler or adult. So the fetus is just a little human being at an early stage of development but they are alive and not much different from us.

I'm a teacher - when I was pregnant, I would come home at 3pm and fall asleep until 6pm! Exhaustion didn't even come close to describing how I felt those first few months! As for the forgetfulness thing... I told a teacher friend something, walked away, and five minutes later went back and told her the EXACT SAME THING. Pregnancy brain is real, I don't care what research says.

Congratulations Jen!! I'm so happy for you!! I had a similar scare at around 8 wks. I totally freaked out and ended up in the ER, they did blood tests and the infamous all too invasive intra uterine u/s. The doctor put me on bed rest for the next week. Then back to work. I ended up having my son 25 wks later, which technically made him a "preemie". (Not because I spotted though.) I wish you and Ben and "Bean" the best of luck.

Jen, so sorry you had to go through that, I had the same exact thing happen at 8 weeks......felt like you were telling my story. Turned out to be nothing and our little pumpkin is now in the third trimester. Hang in there, it's super stressful and scary if it's the first but the time also flies and soon you'll be able to feel the little bean.
