I recently traveled to Portugal without learning any Portuguese. Big Mistake!!! It really is important to know a few phrases and to be able to understand the answers when someone responds to you. I regretted not learning the language the entire time I was there.

just like Cruising is technically travel... Babbel enables something that technically constitutes knowing a new language... both are worlds away from real tourism or real knowledge respectively. a kind of hollow life easy to end needlessly in an alcohol induced stupor because it has so little substance in the first place.

There’s nothing easy about loss of life, under such conditions.
As a First Responder, to react to such a situation is tough. But to tell the surviving family members there’s no rescue and no recovery either, is devastating.
Tony, I’d imagine such stories cannot be very easy for you and your team to always so respectfully quantify the presentation of accurate information.
One of the main reasons I stick with Cruise News and my Views is, your consistent and steadfast commitment to be humble, respectful and sincere with such tragedies.

So many kids are full of Anxiety and other mental health issues. More then ever they are ready to just end life not realizing it’s only a temporary situation.

I think alot of people who drink too much are depressed, drinking makes it worse.

Juneau is my favorite port. Granted, I haven’t been to many others, but right now, it’s tops for me. Thankfully we were there at the end of the season and it wasn’t very busy in port that day. I can see where it might get overwhelming though and hope they can find a solution that works for all involved

I would like to say, I’m so sorry for that young man overboard, what a tragedy. Why his father could not or did not find a way to disengage is beyond me. Keep in mind that the drinking age is 18 in many, many places in the world and it just does not end in unaliving yourself. What we have here is a sad, tragic family legacy. 😢😢😢

Omgosh, thinking how scared this young man must've been if he came to his senses and realized what he had done😢 prayers to his family during this tragic moment
Highly doubt he came to his sense, 120 to 150 feet to the water. It would be like landing on concrete. There have been survivors of an overboard but I have never heard of one that went over from the lido deck.

@@whatlizziepresents That I can understand. My wife and I where on a ship that had a person go overboard. The way so many people reacted to it made me ashamed to be human. People where very angery because the captain had the audacity to stop the ship causing them to miss thier flight.
