The Xhosa Wars (also known as the Cape Frontier Wars or the Kaffir Wars [1]) were a series of nine wars (from 1779 to 1879) between the Xhosa Kingdom and the British Empire as well as Trekboers in what is now the Eastern Cape in South Africa. These events were the longest-running military action in the history of European colonialism in Africa.

They runners probably stole the valuble ammunition for themselves. He also said the Kante invited the British to be their protectors, so again I wonder if that is just British propaganda. Julius Ceazer used the same tactic to divide and conquer the celts by claiming one tribe asked him for protection from another.

Africans have always been the best fighters. In America, blacks turned the tide of the civil war, in WW 2, the black air force squadron was the best performing one. As long as they've had competent equipment, they've always been fine. The problem was by the 1800s the technological difference became too great.

Who on earth told you that? The German Luftwaffe and British Royal Air Force squadrons performed better and during a tougher part of the war when the opposition was at its highest peak.
By the time black American squadrons were in action the enemy had lower standards of pilots with less training.
The highest standard of air battle in the war was probably the Battle of Britain in 1940.

The bigger - and inconvenient question - is why subjugated Americans of African ancestry were so brainwashed as to even want to fight for their oppressors? I'm not the first to pose this question...
John Ford's 1960 Western movie entitled Sergeant Rutledge, is set in 1881, but it's pointedly about American life at the time it was made.
In an _Epic_ scene, A dying Black Calvary soldier states: *We are fools to fight the white man's war.*
It can be argued that there is no honor nor pride in fighting and dying for a society that will always hate you.

It would be a mistake especially for African Americans to view the story in terms of Black and White. The Ashanti had become wealthy powerful and well-armed from facilitating the transatlantic slave trade. And yes just like German civilians in the Nazi period knew what was happening to their Jewish neighbors, the Ashanti knew exactly what was happening to the other Africans they were selling into slavery. This is a reason why African Americans should never ever wear kente cloth. The British governor they defeated was anti slavery and the Ashanti king was pro slavery. Africa is not one place it is different nations peoples cultures and languages just like Europe and Asia. Europeans enslaved each other. The same is true for Africa. The Ashanti fought British soldiers with guns they bought with wealth made from the transatlantic slave trade.

According to African history Asante people interest was to prevent the white people from entering the coast to get on the land.but because the Asantes are not based around the coast but rather inland ,the whites where able to deceive the coastal people and get on land. This is over a period of almost 400 years history. Danish, Portugese, Dutch, and British all came to the Gold Coast during this period, it is the British that stayed till the independence. Initially the whites pretended that their interest was only the gold, the bible, and alcohol, trading, later when Europe needed workers for their plantations and countries to build it up , thats wen they started kidnapping Africans. That is how they started slave trade

The Ashanti fought the war to maintain ther sovereignty per the treaty they signed with Joseph Dupuis in 1820. The Ashanti were into slavery whiles the British weren't anymore. However, when the British proclaimed they won't buy slaves anymore, the Ashanti understood as its economy wasn't dependent on the Atlantic Slave Trade. Asantehene Osei Bonsu even signed a treaty in 1820 with recognition to this proclamation. However, the treaty ensured that Ashanti's jurisdiction over the coast would be honored. Unfortunately, the British failed to respect the treaty causing a breakdown to the war.

"This is why African Ameriacans should never ever wear Kente cloth."
This is a bad example. Kente was simply a cloth that was worn by everyone from babies to leaders. Kente was worn by people who didn't engage in the slave trade. It was also worn by people who were even sold as slaves themselves. Your take on Kente is so vague. It's like saying African Americans should stop speaking English because the British took part on the Atlantic Slave Trade.
