Great podcast, and amen to inter-generational community and the "Andys" of the church 🙏. I'm in the U.S. and at the church I go to, I'm the youngest at 27, and everyone else in the congregation is 57 and above. I don't find this to be a hinderance to my community since I've been able to learn from their wisdom and life experiences. I do, however, have a small community of beleivers around my age which also helps.
I think that you can have a Christian community but it grows more when your young, single and have money to join thinge. If you have a family ite hard to attend bible studies. Ie sick children and no church attendence. We attend church as much as we can. Its hard being working class as some employers expect you to work sundays. Our church doesnt agree with church hopping as we have become members so getting to church in the future could be hard when working and providing for our family. It is nice when we get invited round peoples houses to get to know each other. But i have to say that serving in church mainly happens through the youth and young single adults. Like a easter event recently we were not asked to serve and get involved not sure why but assume that thought we couldnt as we have kids and in our 40s. We do bible studies online and i sing on UA-cam to spread the gospel. But no involvment in the church no at moment, no friends and no one talks to us unless they want us to go to groups or church service. Its sad cause when you say be wise and stay away... maybe everyone is cautious to much. Jesus says love your enemies and our church is our brothers and sisters so there is no different levels of friendship... we have been persecuted by our family and everyone is cautious of us? We are definitely living in the end days, everyone lives with all they need. There are people out their guys that are alone and abused by non Christians. We suffer with some much social anxiety we can only connect online now. Praying for you guys
Love this. God bless you guys for reaching out like this
Big up those churches with inter generational congregations. Thank you for the ‘Andys’ of the church.
Big up Andy!
