- Quick video going over some upgrades I have done to bike so far, including installing ARC levers. I also go over what you get (and dont get) with the new bike. I forgot to include the fork air pump in video though. More 300XC content to come!

Good stuff , I just purchased the only 23 250XC my KTM dealer had available. I should be receiving it in a couple weeks. I ride moto most of the time so I'm looking forward to seeing how it does there and also on the trails I hit from time to time.
I think you are gonna love it. For the 300, the head and top end are same as sx300, so I’d imagine the 250 is similar. So you will get a 250sx with a larger tank, kick stand and 18” rear wheel.
@@joshmundy thanks good to know !!!
@@joshmundy I wonder if the Maps on the XC are the same as SX though ? I don't think they would be. Especially with different gearing. I'd imagine they have their own maps. But still good to know there are no limitations power between the XC and SX models. Maybe just a different tune
I’d imagine the mapping is different
Thanks for the rundown on those things.
I always move clutch perch in on bars to get max leverage.
The ARC levers look nice but I would like to have adjustability while riding/racing. I wonder if there's on-the-fly adjustable ones other than the stock levers???
The ARC would adjust on the fly similar to stock ktm. Just fold lever forward and turn the dial in or out
@@joshmundy but not because you have to 1) push lever forward and 2) you have to align the groove.
I'm wanting bigger easier access while riding.
Kind of like a Jap bike with cable adjustment you just roll with your finger
@@my-max-media7621 you are thinking like a clutch cable adjuster?
@@joshmundy yes, but for KTM of course.
I know they self adjust BUT I sometimes like to move lever further out while racing.
To be able to easily adjust lever position would be great.
(When I don't have time to stop) 😂
I can't imagine not riding for an entire winter! I ride year round, in the summer we ride up in the mountains and now we're transitioning to the desert. We've had nothing but awesome riding this past year and I've got my eye on that exact bike and already had my shop look into ordering me one! Nice vid, I like your pig tail wiring, excellent job. The bike looks great, how do you like it overall...have you had any issues, etc?
Bike is a blast to ride. Went for a ride this past weekend in the mountains, getting cold though at 38*f but dirt was awesome. I am having an electrical issue it’s relaying through the hour meter, video coming out soon on it. Many others in my area with same bike reporting error as well, but sounds like only a dealer can address it 👎🏻
@@joshmundy Thanks Josh, I'm sure KTM will solve this soon. Awesome bike. I use the same ARC levers and love them as well.
Interested in adding these levers to the 23 300 XC I just picked up as well, but I'm having a hard time making sure I order the right ones since ARC doesn't list the '23 yet. Can you tell me which part number you used by chance? Thanks for the helpful content.
Its same as 2022 XC 300 - thats what I used to order them
@@joshmundy Thank you
At what weight do you think you need a new spring in the back? I’m 215, bike on order, they said they would set the sag for me when I’m there, but I’m thinking it may need a new spring... I’m hoping they can throw a new one on while setting up the bike... hope not much to do on the aer forks
215 you probably need a new spring. usually stock is good for 180, give or take 10-15lbs. Wont know until you try to set the sag and if it wont set right, then you need a new spring. AER forks check out RideJBI self install valving kit, or just send it to him and have him dial it in.
@@joshmundy suppose it needs a new spring, are there many manufactures to consider? Or does KTM offer different weighted springs?
@@RC.56 racetech makes it easy to get the right spring, just fill out the rider info based on weight and skill set. Or have a suspension tuner set it up for you
You should check with your dealer for a toolkit. I got a leather wrapped toolkit with my 23 250 XC.
I think you got lucky then and that was something the dealer kicked in for you, as I have not heard of any other person getting a tool kit for the last few years. Especially if the toolkit isnt KTM branded then thats a killer bonus from the dealer
Not trying to argue just hate to see people not get what they deserve. We pay a lot for these bikes. Three 22 KTM's and my 23 KTM between me and my buddy and they all came with toolkits. Three different dealers. Let me know if you want a pic to show your dealer. It is KTM branded.
@@johncorallo yeah man send me a message at FXRJOSH@gmail.com so I can show dealer. Everything I’ve read says no tool kit or manual
Where are you sending the suspension to get revalved?
Ride JBI. He is in California and not only an awesome tuner but a great guy. His customer service is absolutely the best I’ve ever dealt with, answers all my questions quickly and constantly helps. He also develops and designs his own parts. Just did a video removing suspension and sending it off tomorrow
How well greased was the linkage/swingarm?
It actually was pretty good. Swing arm bolt was a little weak but everything else had a decent amount of grease. I added more since it was open but it had more grease than I expected
Any idea on mpg/range?
This weekend I did a 24 hour race on a team and the course was 22 miles long, and I was doing it on avg in 52 minutes; course has some technical and some fast wide open areas. I was coming back with what I believe is between 1/2 and 2/3 a tank left. Im hearing 50-60 miles from some people so I could believe that
Ridiculous no more tool kit, manuals, and brief case
Yeah i was a bit bummed!
