Thank you mate. After watching this video, I pulled my car stereo a part. I managed to fix that little switch. ( in my case, it was broken from where it soldered to switch) Now it's all fixed thanks to this video instructions. 👍
Hey mate, I did the over ride 3 button sequence and it worked but it only works for about 2 and a half minutes and turns off. Is there a way for it to continuously work with out shutting off. Awesome video I will subscribe!
Great video, but unfortunately I saw it too late and have replaced the whole head unit. Followed your step to get it going and it works, but flashes and everytime I switch off I have to reset when I start up again. I don't have the original vin from the wreck, so can't go down that path. Can you advise please. Thank you.
Ummm wow I'm really quite shocked that everyone else in the comments hasn't highlighted such an obvious problem with this repair tutorial⁉️ Look perhaps you were having a really bad day when you kindly filmed this video in your own time for the benefit of a bunch of unappreciative non paying VE owners, essentially complete strangers 😆 This video was so good at explaining every single step in simple dummy proof terms, and I have no doubt your efforts here have inspired many of us who were previously uncertain or lacking in confidence required to undertake such a daunting repair job. This is why it's so perplexing to me that such a unbelievably mammoth gaping hole in one of the steps was simply left out of the entire tutorial and never so much as even mentioned which was honestly hilarious!!! How on earth did you overlook such an important and necessary step in the tutorial? I'm assuming that you personally edited as well as shot and produced the entire video making this whole saga all the more amusing that this step in the process was simply overlooked and just left out for some bizarre reason and I for one cannot wait to find out why⁉️ 😊👍
@@BallarattrumpetguyYeah it was quite the epic rant now looking back on it, I was actually banging on about some missing steps. 1. How to remove the unit from the car? But more importantly 2. How to remove the CD mechanism from the unit? It's not shown or mentioned for some reason? Maybe it's a fairly simple process?
how do i overide a security lock out for my ve omega cd player, tried to put another cd player in from the wreckers in but it it is showing on screensecurity lock out vehical data mismatch . how do you over ride this so my car can use the second hand cd player
when i said OVERRIDE it is mainly for testing only .it will not work for ever. if your original unit has CD issue only then just replace the CD mechanism ,however if you want to replace the box then you need to program 24c16 eprom or remove from you original unit and solder into your new unit from wrecker also using the original fascia.
@@MCRadios i replaced the only the cd player from the wreckers and put in my cd box but as soon as i turn it on it tells meERROR CHECK DISK THEN IT CHANGES AFTER 20 SECONDS AND TELLS ME EVER 2 OR 3 MINUTES MECHANISM ERROR Does that mean the switch is not working like you showd on your you tube or CD Player no good
Were do i get a new switch from i am from south australia in Australia and what is it called and does it come with wire on it to solder it . Also my VE Omega CD Player has one of the flat curved plastic mechanism chip of the top left side how do you replace it, have you got a video on how to replace it with a new one or second hand one, there is one on the left side on top and one on the right side, they are flat and round and move when compared is inserted thank you for your help, much appreciated

you can swap the EPROM from the original unit or programing the eprom with your VIN number.

Awesome video, you've helped me heaps. Cheers.
Where can we buy that switch ?
For Ve commodore 2008. (Silver sterio, just like the one you fixed.)
Where do you get the green screen from please? I need to replace mine and if I could get just the screen that would be amazing
try to check with your wreckers car yards.
get from wreckers very cheap my guess is $20-$50 max.
Hey mate. How did you remove the CD player from the unit? That part wasn't shown in the recording...
