Baradun's back is probably hurting from having to carry all these adventurers
All this Dickheads are a heavy burden too!
Or from sitting for many hours at the D&D table, to win those adventures
🤣
Well, that's why he needs that elven deep tissue massage!
And his ego 🙂
Greg could have totally taken them. That trowel was vicious-looking.
I mean, who wouldn't be easily slain from the "Trowel of the Tyrant"?
You just have to love all of these god tier weapons, that aren't your typical swords. ;-)
The only reason he didnt, was because the last time he used that trowel, it counted as a warcrime, leading to the azerim conventions.
@@VeryProfessionalGamer Yes but the Azerim Suggestions say I am not aloud to plunder the spoils of a defeated enemy, so I did not sign it, and therefore cannot break it.
Just learned the word trowel
@@ArturCarvalho Do you know spade?
I like how Greg not only wasn't offended by her insult, but is so positive that he took it as a compliment. 👍
It's a quest Greg, they have simpler programming.
Gregs unbridled optimism is great to see sometimes haha. Glad to see Baradun return to the Epic NPC Man, feels like forever since we've seen him in it.
You mean like when he said, "WE'RE DOOOOMED!!!" Several times? lol 😜
He was getting a deep tissue massage they take a while
He was actually useful to
Usually he is an asshole that acts better than everyone (at least to the people in town)
He's been busy in Epic NPC Man D&D lol
@@wij2012Gaming love their DnD can't wait for their studio to be done.
Love how he just wielding his trowel standing in the background while Britt fights for her life
To be fair, trowel vs great axe is a pretty poor matchup.
Greg is only really good when up against vampires, what's his garlic going to do against a horde of normal enemies?
The jokes on you!
That's not a trowel.
That's a PUBG class kitchen spatula. Classically used in comercial pizza serving.
Hit point +12🤨
😏😁😄😎👍
Wow. This coffee really is zippy, this morning!
She didn’t do the quest to return Greg’s family sword and other equips. When you do all the mundane quests Greg can basically solo the boss without issue.
Greg being useful
"The power of plot compels me to leave at the most crucial moment so the protagonist may have their moment of glory after the sequence of power and friendship and at the risk of everything being destroyed." - Every OP side character
"So you were there all along, watching?"
"It builds character"
"But it would have been so much easier! Less suffering and death!"
"Exactly. So I had to let you take the quest on your own"
Except Gaunter O' Dimm.
Sorry adventurer, i spent all of my mana! What, mana poition? It is inner mana adventurer which can't be recovered so easily, elven deep tissue massage with happy ending might recover some...
Game logic insists the player do all the big things but it doesn't always make the big allies flake out. Fu So Yah sets off with cranky pants to go deal with the big bad without you in FF4, it just doesn't work out well for them, for example.
Heck, a popular approach is to have the ally team up and suddenly not be as strong while they work with you. I've yet to see a game that has an explanation for that, but it is another popular approach.
Or it works opposite. You are literally the strongest person in the game but can't do in the cut scene half of the things you do in the Gameplay ; forced to play stealth even you can kill the whole army by yourself.
2:36 Greg's confidence in the face of this just brings a smile to my face. Nice to see that when Baradun is not being a dick he and Greg can get along well enough.
"Hell yeah!"
You would die, you would die Greg 😊
LOL I love how he's holding the trowel
@@sarkedev whooooooooooooo!
i don't know about you, but i'd like to see an episode where Britt and Greg are continuing to the castle and Britt gets kidnapped-or has to leave for some reason, causing Greg to have to call on Baradun to rescue her-they argue a bit but in the end realize they MUST work together to rescue Britt and kill Dark Lord Draz'khul (who, not so coincidentally, is played by Adam)
I love how Britt seemed to channel her inner Rowan ("Now, just to clarify") and inner Ben ("Unbelievable!") during her speech 😂
Yes! You've hit the nail on the head.
Twist ending, Rowan was playing as Britt’s avatar.
Greg just saying "Oh lovely" to Baradun getting a massage cracks me up so hard
See, this is "adventurer companion" Greg, not "Honeywood" Greg. Honeywood Greg is done with Baradun's bullshit. Companion Greg is newly generated each time the quest is accepted, and doesn't have Honeywood Greg's baggage.
Alan is by far my favorite actor in these skits. Especially his little quips and such, like the "oh, lovely" at 2:01. He does such a good job with offhanded remarks
I loved his short arm rise in the end. Like one of these "allies" that are always hype to get to action but then only get themselves in trouble and are more of a burden than helpful 😂
I also love when he plays the more "badass" characters, like in Silent Hero Genius. How he can transform from innocent garlic farmer to confident military lieutenant is amazing.
At 2:15 when he remarks about his lower back, you can see Brit trying not to laugh
Hearted by Alan, no doubt
@@justadudeN72 If any of my comments ever get hearted by any of these guys, I'd be so happy. Damn star struck by these guys.
Greg's Enthusiasm in that "WOO!" is all I needed to hear to keep him for the rest of the entire Game Campaign.
He's like an almost useless hypeman
02:17, Britt trying so hard not to laugh is hilarious
People have mentioned that before, "Britt trying not to laugh." That is not what is happening. You don't get how videos are made. That is a reaction shot, and a perfectly reasonable one. Same as in the one about reading. She's not trying to prevent breaking character, her character is thinking about what she knows will happen.
@@timl.b.2095 The emotional dynamic of the character in that moment does not support that. Both immediately before and immediately after that "reaction shot", Brit's character feels and expresses anger toward Baradun, and wouldn't be in a mood to quietly snicker along with him at a quick joke. This is why many people skip your conclusion in favor of the theory that Adam improvised the back pain line and Britt's unscripted reaction was kept either for its meta value or in the interest of expediency. And that kind of thing is very common in sketch comedy. There's a lot at stake on VLDL's shoot days -- they have to cram their shoots together and work within a limited amount of time.
@@timl.b.2095She 100% looks like she's about to smile. That's what I do when I'm trying not to smile
Half expected Baradun to portal back just to show Greg the middle finger. 😂
'Have I shown you this'?
Greg: "shown me what?"
*Baradun stick up his middlefinger*
I also expected a comment from Baradun about his wife :') or was that the Blacksmith?
@@cherrydragon3120 Then after he leaves again Greg says “Oh that Barradun. Such a nice guy.”
Baradun was actually going back because he wants the happy ending.
No magic could compete with Greg’s enthusiasm
i love how Britt always looks like she is about to crack up, it makes my day
2:17 I love it when she's trying to hold the laugh 🤣
"Correct, you've hit the nail on the head. Good work." The delivery on that line was just incredible. You guys consistently blow me away.
I'm so glad that the Viva La Dirt League spark is back in this one! Don't get me wrong, I love the things these guys are making, but this hit right in the deep tissue spot
Thought the same. Levelling up an then some.
It's like those times you go into a town, and find out it's under threat from the Big Bad, but their weaponsmith and armorer are still making you pay for their best equipment even though they might die if you don't get them.
Excellent! Now whenever I have a player unable to show up for D&D I can just say his character had an Elven Massage booked. Everyone knows you can't skip an Elven Massage.
Hey, those massages are expensive. And the waitlist is horrible.
i watch a league channel and when someone is missing they either say theyre getting their toenails painted or that they stubbed their toe.
@@Necro_fury I would prefer a deep tissue Elven massage
It's just the best way to pologise.
But its weird when Baradun does it tho. He has a thing for elves, wood elves especially.
Love Greg, he's so enthusiastic and just great. You can't help but be inspired when you're with him 😂
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Hell ya!
Greg is the true beacon of hope for Azerim
I loved when he enthusiastically cowered and wailed that they were definitely going to die. 😂
He should have switched to being a bard rather than a cleric
Indeed, Greg is so dingo!
The evolution of the characters is great. This show is fresher than it was at the start, and it started a long time ago.
Is it as "as fresh" for "fresher than"?
@@hrafnkol1404 The latter. I started typing one thing and changed it mid-sentence.
I love how she smirks
Heh, I love that the Adventurer and Baradun can have actual banter because of Baradun's full sentience. Like slipping from his programmed "character" into his true dickhead self. Absolutely love it!
More like they are a GM and ehh you got this.
@@wobblysauce no skycraft is set in a game like world of warcraft, some npcs like greg the garlic farmer and bodger have broken their code and become sentient.

(Go check out their D&D channel, it's really flippin' good! I'm already on a second watchthrough)
@@marcojmflumino8713 I was about to comment to say "nah Bodger isn't sentient!" But then I thought about it and actually you're right, he is sentient. He's just not bright enough to realise that being sentient is unusual for this world 😛
Meanwhile, Greg's sentient and knows something's off, but doesn't know what, and Baradun is fully aware this is a game and what his role in it is and is just trying to make the most of his time given he's trapped in that restricted world.
The enthusiasm Greg has throughout the video was fantastic 🤣
Yep. Especially at the end. After narrowly escaping obvious annihilation, he's perfectly chuffed to head off and probably not escape it the second time at the hands of the dark lord.
As any good adventurer's companion should be
When you're a garlic farmer and an adventurer lets you tag along to see the world beyond the village in which you've lived all your life, it's got to be exhilarating.
Poor Greg, he's so excited to be involved and he's just overlooked

Baradun is an iconic character of the Epic NPC man series with his "POOORTAL AWAY!"
As helpful as he is useless
I'm happy his portal effects have upgraded as well
"Portal a Stay" is also in his repertoire now... and he may be still salty about it. For context, see NPC DnD

He's a lot of fun in NPC D&D.
Adam has a legitimate concern! How do you expect the high sorcerer to fight while he is suffering from debilitating sciatica? Hopefully, the therapist can work *their* magic 😉

I know she's been back for a while now. But, I really am so happy that Britt came back. She genuinely fits.
The elf giving that massage needs that work to feed their family, don’t bail on your appointments!!
This is one of my favourite skits in a long time, just nailed everything. Greg's completely situational optimism/pessimism, the effects, Baradun being a dickhead but also loveable, and of course Brit's bewilderment and... is there a word for "I'm not mad, just disappointed"? It's a specific sort of disappointment. She does that so well, and is gorgeous as always.
Shut up nerd.
Greg going from pessimism to "The dark lord will be fine" (simply cause they are not facing him yet)
"...and a F*cking Garlic Farmer"
"Hell Yeah !"
I love these skits 😄❤😃
That is OUTRAGEOUS that Brit would expect him to miss an appointment like that.
"Portal Away" is what I'll tell my boss when I'm leaving.
One of the best episodes in ages. The witty incidental chatter is very well done 👏
I like how Greg is just standing there the whole time as an emotional support instead of an actual help xd
"Don't thank God, thank me."
-Classic Barad'dun
Baradun: You'd die and the whole Azarim would burn.
Same Baradun: Burned Honeywood once himself.
Greg’s enthusiasm is so adorable.
Baradun just casually summoning a nuke then dipping for an appointment
I mean, he *said* "Good luck"
He's got his priorities straight.
your comment just gave me a thought. what if he doesn't summon the meteor casually? What if he actually needs a meteor to pass by the Earth. And if there is no meteor nearby, he cannot cast the meteor spell. And that't the REAL reason he doesn't join Brit.
Self care is very important, even for a high sorcerer
He was Bara-done.
Greg is just so happy he is going on a advanture for once that he doesnt mind at all 😂
NPC D&D is my favorite part of Thursdays and if your new you have a ton of great hilarious videos to watch in catching up.
How do you guys keep doing this every week, and the quality only gets better. Mad respect.
ikr some channels take months and their quality is nowhere near as vivas
They live in Newzealand, that is how.
*"Thanks to our good friends on PATREON"*
I'm not their Patreon (yet?) so I'm not entirely sure, I think they mentioned how they usually do VLDL in Patreon.
My rough estimate is they write & plan for a season (10 episodes, 3-4 minutes per episode) of a show within 4 weeks. Shoot for a week (definitely possible to shoot 2-3 episodes a day), then post production the entire season in 3 weeks. They are currently running 4 shows iirc, and they upload 3 videos of different shows every week. So 8 weeks of production per season per show to be shown in the next 10 weeks, while having back catalogues of other shows is not that impossible. Definitely not a trivial thing considering how big the production value is, but the short running time per episode meaning it's possible to do in between their day job.
@@grdprojekt Yeah, but they also have their DnD channel, which has longer episodes, and it often involves cutscenes like these vids here. That's a lot of work. I wonder how many more people are working on these channels in the background. Kudos to them too.
Britt experiencing what every Quest relevant NPC experiences when the high-level adventurer goes off to do another quest while in the middle of another quest already 😂
I thought that was going to happen. I thought she was going to bail on the quest, leaving Greg to fight off the army alone
when the high-level adventurer goes off to do a *side* quest in the middle of a main story line
I need more of Greg's positivity to get me through the day
They could always get "The Honeywood Guard".
If this was D&D, Baraduns meteor would have missed and he would have fireballed the group with wild surge
Baradun is up there with my favourite characters; he just enjoys himself like a madman!
And if I remember correctly, he is also canonicly aware of being in a video game. Which explains a lot.
greg the garlic farmer would definitely scare off vampires lol
Baradun is right : his intervention was so crucial that it must be scarce. Imagine a game where you ally right from the start with a character that can slay down all your enemies without any remaining challenge for you ?

I'm certain that Baradun is Eugene after he becomes self aware.
Eugene then used every glitch in the game to become the most powerful person in all of Azerim to not have to deal with the things he deal with such as his children burning in a fire.

As well as watching their performance getting better and better. Sure, should be expected when they've been doing this for years and years, now - all the same, it is a pleasant feeling to see them growing as actors and scriptwriters. And to see that our monetary support isn't all going into yachts and villas and mountains of coke, at least *some* of it is going into getting costumes and make-up artists and all the crew needed for these productions.
In their older videos the editing was way better though. It was short and on the point.
Now there are too many 4 minute videos that at most need to be 2 minutes.

I gotta say the amazing quality of content on this channel is mind-blowing. The acting, the props, the sets, the background actors and extras. All of it is excellent. Great job VLDL

Better Sword Action than Rings of Power ..
Every now and then, Greg looks down at his trowel and goes to a dark place. It's always been like that, and sometimes it almost feels like he remembers why...

That "WOOOW" at the end is magic lol
The DND is totally worth it. I started later but listened to it almost like a podcast. Switched to watching it more closely because of all the great cut scenes.
Pro-tip - turn on the captions. There are even more jokes, usually to the tune of "*Rob screams internally*" whenever the guys are being....well, "The dickheads."
