The "New Photographers" category is nice, but maybe it should be 3 categories. "New Photographers", "Amateurs" (beyond the 2 year mark) and "Professionals". Thoughts?
Thanks so much for sharing another wonderful video like always, very nice event that you are putting together Jeremy, keep up with the awesome content 🐦👍🤗
I have been photographing wildlife since 2022...do I qualify for new photographer, even though I entered last year? Glad you are hosting this again and amazing judges...WOW....
Wish I had the time to put towards being a judge this year, but I’m excited to enter as a contestant instead! Can’t wait to see everyone’s images and kudos to you Jeremy for all the hard work you put into this amazing project! 🙌
"Entrants that are shortlisted for the final round of judging may be required to provide: raw format files (such as .NEF, .CR2 etc) or, if unavailable, original untouched JPEGs for authentication and forensic purposes." Well, that sort of bites...I don't keep the originals.
Bummer! That’s tough, chances are it wouldn’t matter but we need that in there in case there are any questionable editing techniques. As a word of recommendation I would always hold onto your originals as most any competition will require them in the case they need verification

Hello Jeremy! I have a question please, the birds have to be usa birds only? I have some photos that I took in Colombia, are they ok for the competition?
I would qualify as the new photographers category, but I have some great images that I’d want to put in other categories. Would I be able to put pictures in the new photographers category and one of the main categories?
Yes you can do that! New Photographers aren’t limited to just that one category, it’s just there as a special category exclusively for them if they don’t want to compete in other categories with more seasoned photographers :)

I like your thought process ☺️ I’ll have to sit on it and think about it for future competitions

Yes you do! You can see the specifications in the FAQ and Rules section, but yes as long as you started after July 29th, 2021 :)

No they can be birds or wildlife subjects from any part of the world! :)
