yeah, i think if you select "red" and then mess with the "channel range", you should be able to select a more specific color than just red. If you try that and it's still selecting the background, then you may need to just mask out the car.

Rotoscope your car and then add hue/saturation to the rotoscoped car and turn the colorize option in hue/sat and then change hue :)

What do you do when the hue/saturation effect affects the background too, is there a way to isolate it to a more specific range than just "reds"?
