The Ferrari Purosangue is designed to offer a unique mix of top-level comfort, everyday usability, and the high-performance driving experience Ferrari is known for. Its standout feature is an advanced suspension system that’s a world-first, using cutting-edge technology to make the ride smoother and the car handle better. This suspension system, developed with Multimatic, combines an electric motor and a hydraulic shock absorber to actively adjust how the car responds to bumps, curves, and other road conditions. The electric motor works quickly and precisely, helping the car stay stable during sharp turns and reducing the effect of uneven roads. Special sensors and Ferrari’s smart control systems fine-tune everything in real-time, improving cornering, reducing body roll, and ensuring the tyres grip the road better. Another feature is a new front suspension design that makes the steering more stable and less affected by bumps or braking. In simple terms, the Purosangue combines Ferrari’s legendary performance with advanced technology to deliver a smoother, safer, and more comfortable drive.
The Ferrari Purosangue's active suspension system is like having a smart assistant for your car’s suspension. Here's how it works in simple terms: 1. Sensors monitor the road and your driving: The system constantly checks what's happening-how bumpy the road is, how sharp the turns are, and how fast you're going. 2. Motors adjust the suspension in real-time: Instead of just springs and shocks passively absorbing bumps, this system uses small electric motors to actively push or pull the suspension. It works super quickly to keep the car balanced. 3. Keeps the car steady: When you’re taking a sharp turn, it prevents the car from leaning too much (reducing body roll). On bumpy roads, it adjusts to make sure the tires stay firmly on the ground for better grip and comfort. In short, it’s like having an expert constantly tweaking the suspension so your ride feels smooth and the car handles like a dream.
The fact that it's the only V12 still around bar the vanquish, flying spur and some others, is simply why it has a presence unlike any other car in 2024!
R468,000 per month for repayments can't be correct...that's R5.6 Million per year. Over a period of 5 years that's R28 Million for a R14 Million car.. The bank is literally getting a @#$ing free Ferrari out of you when you finance it... That's disgusting.
When you own something like this... 15k a tire, cost of petrol, insurance... You're not paying monthly installments. You got the kind of money the rest of us take breathing air for granted money.
Hey Ciro, glad to have you back! Daniel here up for the challenge [and the merch]. So... The Purosangue's active suspension is like having a smart system that constantly adjusts the car’s suspension to make every ride smooth and stable. It keeps the car level during sharp turns by countering the natural tilting motion, so it's always planted on the road. It also softens the impact of bumps and rough roads, ensuring the tyres stay firmly on the ground for better grip and safety. The system uses electric motors and sensors to predict and respond to changes. Adding to this precision is a four-wheel steering system, which turns the rear wheels slightly during tight manoeuvres and improves stability at high speeds. High-tech sensors, like Ferrari’s advanced 6-way Chassis Dynamic Sensor (6w-CDS) also monitor the car’s movements and help fine-tune its handling in real-time.
Currently sitting here in my Ferrari shirt, sipping coffee from my Ferrari mug, completely captivated by this review. I absolutely love this car! If I had R15 million, it would be mine without a doubt. Thank you, Ciro, for another outstanding review-pure excellence as always!
If you don't have fender or door shields means it's a cheaper spec , I hate how car manufacturers ruined my mind despite knowing how expensive they are 🤦♂️😂
Here goes my best explanation… The Ferrari Purosangue uses a cutting-edge suspension system (it’s name is not necessary to mention) that adjusts in real time to keep the car stable and comfortable, no matter the conditions. It doesn’t rely on traditional anti-roll bars, so it handles corners smoothly and provides a super comfortable ride. Paired with its all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, the system ensures great grip and agility on any road. Whether you’re cruising in comfort or driving fast, the suspension adapts perfectly to match your needs. So this is a win in innovation and a win in Ferrari’s attempt to compete once more! I vote yes and I hope you pick me to win some of your super awesome merch!
Hi Ciro. my explannation is as follows. The ferrari purosangue suspension with the active geared dampers and how it works is basically how the human body works. Where are other suspension react top changes in terrain curves and bumps. As a human being you use your brain (predictive analysis) in the case of the suv thats the sensors and the computer box of the car to proactively adjust the suspension to the requirements of the coming terrain. So its a bit like how you climb up stairs is different from how you climbn down. How you sprint on a flat field is different to how you run up a hill. So basically in toyota language its the vvti or suspension. Its suspension with intelligence and gears which is proactive.
I was going to a track day and at the last minute due to the weather conditions I decided to take the Purosangue was not sure to take it on the track but finally I took it . What a day, this car behaved like a real sport car, precise , and really “racy” They made it ! A real Dr Jeckill and Mr Hyde .. 😮
3:43 Here's my attempt. It has hydraulic dampers that are combined with electric motors into integrated units which then forms the suspension. These then use sensors and control units to continuously adjust the suspension's behavior in real time taking in inputs from all around the car (sensors, the driver's inputs, etc).
I've missed Ciro's reviews! Welcome back!! I think they hit the nail on the nead, most of the people buying it have old money and that feel is probably what they want. Hats off to Ferrari
The Purosangue's suspension is a game-changer. Imagine shock absorbers that can react instantly to the road, like a skilled acrobat anticipating every move. That's essentially what this system does. Electric motors give it incredible speed and precision, so the car feels incredibly composed around corners. It's like the car is glued to the road, yet somehow still manages to absorb bumps with effortless grace. Beyond the suspension, the Purosangue is packed with cutting-edge tech. From the advanced all-wheel-drive system to the sophisticated safety features, it's clear that Ferrari has spared no expense in making this SUV both thrilling to drive and incredibly safe. It's a blend of exhilarating performance and refined comfort that truly sets it apart. Essentially, the Purosangue is a testament to Ferrari's unwavering pursuit of excellence. It's a car that pushes the boundaries of what an SUV can be, offering a unique blend of performance, luxury, and innovation.
This review is the equivalent of the Emirates A380 coming in to land at OR Tambo during a MAJOR Thunderstorm, after being in a holding pattern, then when ATC finally gives the go-ahead for the landing, the Captain - who is ex-SAA (the best of the best), takes control from the Senior First Officer - whose leg it was to originally fly - then butters the hell out of the landing, putting that beast down on the ground like only South African captain could. Ciro - The Captain This car - The A380 This Review - delivered like a landing that only experience could ever pull off. You can’t buy this level of expertise. It only comes with time. You legend! This review was executed astoundingly. Thank you.
Ciro!!! Where you been!!! You want to work here, or just play! Jokes jokes! At Uni our results were late and an irrate student posted something similar on the notice board 😂 Great to see a video from you again!
The suspension on the Ferrari Purosangue is like the car’s way of keeping the ride smooth and stable, no matter what the road throws at it….It's an adaptive system, so it can change how it works based on how you’re driving. …If you’re cruising, it softens up for a chill, comfy ride. But if you’re pushing it hard, like on a twisty road, it tightens up to keep the car solid and sharp. Basically, it gives you the best of both worlds: comfort when you need it, and performance when you want it…. All in all Churo the purosangue is one of the best current handling SUV’s because of its unique driving system. Plus it lasts longer than air suspension 😂😂😂
As a diehard Ferrari supporter, I was a bit worried when they announced this car. I thought they were bending to the so-called market demands, but then they did it their way, and this was the result. This would probably be the most exclusive family car in the world. Would be perfect for my family aspirations 😅 but then, I'd probably have to have my money outrunning my sense to get this. Those low rev rumbles when it's idle... What a sound.
Here's how i understand it: The Ferrari Purosangue has a very clever suspension system that makes the car handle incredibly well while still being comfortable. Here’s how it works: It adjusts itself constantly: Each wheel has its own motor that can move the suspension up or down super quickly. This keeps the car stable whether you’re taking tight corners, accelerating hard, or braking. No need for anti-roll bars: Unlike many cars, it doesn’t use traditional anti-roll bars. Instead, it uses high-tech parts that can react instantly to keep the car flat and balanced, even in sharp turns. Smooth and sporty: The system knows when you want a smooth, comfy ride (like on a normal drive) and when you want to feel sporty (like on twisty roads). It adjusts automatically to suit your driving style. Always in control: It also works with the car’s other systems to give you the best grip and keep everything feeling safe and fun, no matter the road conditions. In short, it’s like having a super-smart system that makes sure the car feels steady and comfortable at all times while still letting you enjoy Ferrari-level performance, and will definitely break the bank when it eventually breaks😂😂.
@Carscoza I'm hoping you guys will do a comparison between this suspension, the mercedes E-Active body control and a car with a more conventional traditional suspension
Simply put: When you turn right, the weight of the car shifts on to the right wheels. Which compresses the air or the liquid in the shock so the car leans to the right. Manufacturers make the suspension stiffer so it leans less. But this makes the ride harsh. Imagine you're on a long right turn and as you enter the car leans right. A motor pumps air/liquid into the shock to keep the car level and reverses any leaning. This way the car doesn't lean and the shock doesn't have to be hard.
Ferrari absolutely nailed it with the Purosangue. I was a bit pessimistic about the concept of Ferrari SUV at first but now I absolutely love it. The looks, the sound, the n/a V12, everyhthing is spot on. And from all the reviews I've seen it really feels and drives like a proper Ferrari. If I had sufficient finances I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
When they say 'save the best for last'...! Ferrari was definitely going to jump on the SUV bandwagon, although they did it best! Show me a Super SUV with a V10+ engine and above? Without a turbo... The Suspension.. I heard Ciro mention Spool valves explaining the suspension.... So the suspension has turbos?? See what i did... I'm not a full-on nerd but WHAT THE HELL!!! The opening of the bonnet reminds me of a synonyms SA "spinning vehicle" but damn...... 💯
Ciro is back 🎈🎈🎈🎈 Here’s an explanation and hopefully I win some merch: The Ferrari Purosangue has super-smart robot legs that make sure it never trips, even when running super fast or jumping over bumps. These robot legs can stretch, shrink, and dance all at once, so the car stays as smooth as butter on toast. It’s like the car has ninja reflexes-no matter how twisty the road gets, it’s like, “Nope, I got this!” You could spill your juice box, but the car’s so smooth, it’ll probably stay full.
Fantastic Review of the Purosangue. That "sound" of the V12, makes me smile. There are no replacement for displacement. I will never buy a hybrid. I like a beast like this. "Pure blood" These hybrids will expire somewhere in the future because of the battery. This Ferrari is timeless...
This is an advanced active suspension system that uses electric motors and hydraulic dampers for real-time adjustments. There are sensors that detect movements like bumps or cornering, and a control system processes the data to instantly stabilize the car. The electric motors quickly push or pull the suspension, counteracting body roll, bouncing, or pitching, while a low-friction screw mechanism ensures efficiency and compact design. This setup reduces the car's roll center in corners, improves grip, and enhances steering precision. This actively manages body and wheel motion to deliver a smoother, more controlled ride.
The Ferrari purosangue suspension uses multiple accelerometers , sensors and brushless motors on every corner of the vehicle and the system is activated when a corner is detected it will raise or lower any corner of the vehicle independently to maximize cornering dynamics it uses neither pneumatic nor air suspension . its a world first co developed by a Canadian company named multimatic
Ferrari's active suspension uses electric motors and hydraulic dampers to adjust the car's suspension in real-time. It keeps the car stable during turns, reduces body roll, and smooths out bumps. Sensors constantly monitor movement, and the system reacts quickly to maintain control and comfort, ensuring a smoother and sportier driving experience.
The Ferrari Purosangue comes with an advanced active suspension system that’s all about delivering the perfect blend of performance and comfort. Powered by a 48-volt system, electric motors at each wheel work with Ferrari’s predictive control software to adjust the suspension on the fly. This means the car stays flat and composed during sharp turns, adapts its ride height as needed, and keeps grip levels at their best. Whether you’re pushing it hard or just cruising, the system ensures a smooth, stable ride, making high-performance driving feel effortless and refined. (I’ll be waiting for my merch 🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️)

Good work!
Guess who's back❤❤❤thank you corona we missed you
Ferrari's active suspension uses electric motors and hydraulic dampers to adjust the car's suspension in real-time.
