I knew I messed up bad immediately. Bought em at like midnight and then messaged the store early the next morning asking if I could please cancel since it hadn't shipped, but they straight ghosted me haha. hard but valuable lesson -.-
I collect pokemon cards for the art, and I'm a huge pokemon fan (working on a living pokedex in the game, lmao), and I'm quite happy to let things like my Brilliant Starts Alt Art Charizard sit on my shelf with my little figures for all eternity. But, it's good to know what to be aware of what I should and shouldn't do if I ever feel the want to keep more for investments - awesome video c:
I think you're doing it right! Pokémon is best treated as a hobby rather than a financial instrument, buuut it is also fun to see the value of your collection increase! Thanks for watching 🙏
I'm newer to Pokemon TCG and my biggest mistake was not doing research before purchasing. I got some cards at an antique store(really expensive cards for cheap) only to find out they were fake lol. Thankfully it was only about $20 and I'm ALOT more careful in buying now.
Buying something and the price dropping afterwards is not something to be considered a mistake. Markets go up and down. Its a mistake if you can tell the future
We all have those investments that go the wrong way. Back in the day I was at Target and they had five Team Up ETB's on the shelf and I didn't give them a second glance. I bought a bunch of Darkness Ablaze product instead.
Ohhh man, that legitimately hurt to read 😭😭 *as I glace over at 3 darkness ablaze etbs and 1 booster box imagining how awesome they would look on fire😈🔥*.
I can tell you're a honest person by mentioning that. Never change for anyone. The first part of correcting something is to acknowledge it was done wrong in the first place. You'll now be ahead of everyone else.
Never underestimate the utility of playing cards in bad situations. People need entertainment and in a worst case scenario, having any type of playing cards could be just that. Recently, in my home state of New Mexico, our mayor had to ban magic cards from being allowed in the prison systems. The inmates were using them as currency! How wild is that?
Totally insane, but makes sense! The prison system is hell on earth, but you can never underestimate the ingenuity of the people locked up in there. MtG seems to be a popular choice of investment to move laundered crypto money into as well 😆
the best thing i've done so far was invest with evolving skies! i am still holding 2 booster boxes and a bunch of sleeved blisters. I also got into buying the ones from the dollar store (3 pack cards) so i have some older cards-team up, unbroken bonds, unified minds).
Thank you for watching! :D I think consensus is that 151 is one of the best sets in a long time. It brought tons of people back to Pokémon and people can’t get enough of it! Both English and Japanese are great holds, but Japanese is likely a little better just since it’s got the reverse holo masterballs which English doesn’t have.
Good advice! Good editing! Good script!
I’ll subscribe
thank you so much! 😄
I Audibly went “oooh ouch” when you talked about that shining fates etb pre-orders

Bro is talking about buying 24+ ETBs of evolving skies. That ain’t investing, that’s scalping
what's the difference between scalping and investing?
Great financial advice!

Ugh bummer, the fakes are everywhere. At least you didn't have to pay too much money to learn such a valuable lesson! Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you for helping! Question: what’s your opinion on 151? I bought as much as I wanted but I want to see what you think about it
