I didn't watch his Xenoblade run, so I had no clue that this happened, but my god he is a hella humble and modest guy. People were seriously complaining about him being away though? When you're sick like that, you have to put everything but your health on the backend. You can't do what you love if you aren't well enough to do it. Emile, if you ever see this, please know that you're an awesome guy and we, as the viewers, appreciate you for all you have done.
Part of that was due to the fact that TRG was updating at the normal pace during this time and Emile appearing in each video, a group of these people, not realizing how far in advance TRG prerecords stuff due to how far apart they all live, believed he was lying about his illness because he was "making videos for TRG and not his own channel as well."
When he posted about this on his Twitter and Facebook I was so worried about him. I kept watching his past videos and would comment on his Facebook when I saw an update. When he seemed better, it was a relief, since his health means a lot to me. I've never met Emile. I want to someday, but his health is more important then new videos.
At least Emile respects his viewers, most youtubers wouldn’t care about how their viewers feel when they go but he does care, he’s very honest and lovely towards the people that also respect him Just another reason why he is the best youtuber
I was only 10 or so when this happened, and I remember multiple nights that I would just cry because I was so worried. It's crazy to me that it's been so long since he got better, because I still remember so vividly worrying about the health of someone I didn't know.
Chugga seriously has one of the most faithful and loyal fan bases out of any UA-camr. I’ve been watching since all the way back at Fire Red, and I still watch to this day.
I just want to hug him, so much. But I may or may not not want to let go for a non socially acceptable amount of time. Hugs are a good thing. Chugga has been a solid in a crazy world. He’s always just been him, hearing his beginning greet is always lovely. He’s golden, humble, and for him I want nothing but the best the world can offer he’s so underrated. I watch his videos for comfort... and I also rewatch them a lot. :p
If you watch StephenVlog when he went to hospital he described his experience similar to Emiles. Sounds like at the very least the Carolinas and Georgia have doctors who give rrally bad advice
@@diane3982 and yet nearly every European and most Asian countries have free or very little health costs. Obama had the chance, Trump won't... I just hope your next President sees the light
+Amazingly Awkward ...and with “free” health care comes a sharp drop in quality, extremely long wait times that can last for months, overcrowded hospitals, premature discharges, under paid yet over burdened doctors, and a system that is completely controlled by the government, which has led to the death of an infant in the UK who probably could’ve been saved in the US if the EU didn’t order for the child to die.
When Emile went on that hiatus during his Xenoblade LP, i decided that i would watch all the previous episodes from Ep.1 and kept repeating it until he came back. Im being serious! I was actually going through a bad time myself since i had a bad case of depression. This is why i was watching him cus his puns/jokes are the cure to depression. XD
I hate the fact how underrated this guy is. 1 million subs is not anything to scoff at, but this dude has been making let’s plays on what he loves and purely what he loves for a decade or so. And on a site such as UA-cam, that is very commendable.
Emile expresses thankfulness for the his viewers staying with him for those months of downtime. I think he's got himself to thank for that as well. His channel may not have the most immense subscriber count on UA-cam and he may not run around with over-the-top commentary and all-caps or controversial video titles that draw in attention, but it's thanks to his genuine passion and impressive work ethic and endearing quirks that his following is loyal to where few can match. I firmly believe a channel's viewer base reflects the channel, and I think this speaks volumes of who Emile is and what's he's accomplished. Serious respect for the guy.
I remember when this happened during his hiatus I found a copy of Xenoblade at my local game stop so that definitely kept my interest besides the fact that I love this channel
I feel the pain of the ear infections. Had em constantly as a child. Didn't get another one until highschool. Woke up feeling like I had gotten shot in the ear. It didn't go away for 3 days, but I never had to seek medical help for it. Emile, you are a trooper my dude
I remember coming home every day from school in that 2 months of primary school and checking off Chugga had uploaded the next episode. It was only when I went away for a school camp for 5 days that he uploaded and I cried in joy and watched them with popcorn and my dog because I wanted it to be an amazing experience and it was
Old comment here but chugga and his plethora of gaming series he’s done, the runaway guys have kept my love of games going strong for so long and they’re still a driving force for me lol but honestly compared to big names out there he’s extremely underrated and overall so genuinely brilliant I don’t think l’ve actually given him the credit he deserves! Keep going strong Emilie ♥️
I remember watching Xenoblade chronicles let's play back in 2014, and I was worried upon hearing about Chuggaaconroy and his illness. Emile, I'd say you're lucky to have a supportive fan base, but let's be honest here, you have a supportive fan base because of the way you operate.
Tbh i did stop watching xenoblade when he hot sick. By the time he came back. I had move onto watching other shows. But i kept subscribed, watching the serie continue until i saw that the last ep has been released. Then i got really excited for the next lets play series
I also had to admit I also stopped watching ( I wasn’t into the series as much and I didn’t hear he was getting sick once I heard of this I bindged the entire series on his behalf.
Chuggaaconroy is one of the greatest content creators ever. Been watching him from his very first Paper Mario playthrough and honestly, he just makes me feel so much happier. His videos genuinely cure my depression even on my worst days. He's just incredible.
I've gone through so many phases of content that I watch on UA-cam but one consistent person that I could watch anytime is chugga, I've probably been watching him since I was 8, started 11 years ago. I kind of grew up on these early let's players like slim kirby, nintendocaprisun, protonjon. Hope chuggaa doesnt have to go through something like this again
Emile our little UA-cam angel I was so worried for him when he got sick during that time. A lot of us was worried poor guy was really down and sick. I hope he gets well and stays healthy.
I've been watching his stuff for so long, he inspired me to start playing animal crossing and to just generally play more video games. He's one of my all time favourite youtubers I appreciate him a lot
I actually remember that. I fell in love with Xenoblade when watching his playthrough of it and it helped releive the stress I had for moving across the country. I found his channel and started binging until when he was on hiatus. Ever since i have watched his playthroughs.
This is educational though... it teaches people to not trust their doctors every time and to get multiple check ups from certified doctors. I guess....
An upper respiratory infection from an ear infection?.... Interesting. There is a small connection between the inner ear and the upper respiratory tract through the Eustachian tube.... although it is usually closed. Can’t say I’ve heard of something like that before.
Also, if it was a bacterial infection, it would technically be possible to take ear wax from the healthy ear and put it in the infected ear, and it could wipe out the infection. Since we always have bacteria on us, we have evolved to have a balance with many bacteria, such as in the gut or ear. It’s possible to stop a bacterial infection by taking healthy bacteria from a similar setting, the other ear, and putting it in the infected area. The invading bacteria could then be wiped out and replaced with normal bacteria. Of course it could also fail, and since this was a viral infection I’m not sure if it would have worked. Just an interesting bit of trivia.
Emile is a hypochondriac, im sure of it. any little cough or sniffle and hes not uploading for the rest of the month. i mean, yeah, sometimes you get sick with something serious, and it could take months to recover, but he gets it multiple times a year. its not normal.
When my mom gets allergies or feels sick, her inner ear itches when it's really her sinuses. All that stuff inside is closely linked so if one thing gets inflamed it can push on other stuff. He might've had the beginnings of a sinus infection (That will make the inside of the ears itch too, had that happen myself) and depending on how bad it is, it can definitely travel down.
@@steveh1474 He mostly gets them right after a convention, though, which makes a degree of sense; he's been pretty sheltered most of his life, so coming into contact with diseases he has no resistance to would have exaggerated results. Why he's not taking more precautions about this, I couldn't tell you.
Speaking as someone who's had to take care of a mother who's immune system is almost non-existent due to chemotherapy (she did win her battle with cancer, but for some reason her immune system just isn't recovering at all), it is REALLY difficult to keep from getting sick in that circumstance if you go out in public. If mom wasn't the only person in the household that is able to drive, she'd be staying home pretty much all the time - just a trip inside a grocery store a few months back resulted in her catching a mild cold that within 48 hours grew to be a serious case of pneumonia that left her hospitalized. So she has to stay in the car while I go and do the shopping, and even then we have anti-bacterial wipes in the car that I have to use to wipe my hands with before I get in the car. With Emile apparently not having much in the way of a strong immune system, traveling as much as he does it isn't surprising at all that he gets sick so often - there's only so much you can do precaution wise while still going out to conventions and the like, and sometimes even that isn't enough.
I remember at the time when he announced that on Facebook that he had that illness, a lot of people and I was worried that he might not fully recover. He truly is amazing when he came back still spiritually as ever
I know what Emile means when talking about long term illness, in 2014, i was diagnosed of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and being in the hospital on meds all the time truly is a monotonous and dreadful process. While I was surely getting good care, that doesn’t change the fact that it wasn’t happy. A lot of the time I was just in my room alone doing things one day at a time and as you do these things the days just kind of begin to blur. And one time I had a throat infection that got really bad while I was still on chemo and just being on so many drugs and steroids and antibiotics. Not to mention that this RSV-throat infection thing had me growing sores over my lips making me unable to talk it really is one of the lowest periods of my life. While I knew I was gonna get out of it, it was just the fact that in that moment, everything I was used to was so much harder to do. So I think Emile has a really good way of thinking on terms of this, cause it’s true, you really just can’t get anything done and it’s really demotivating.
My favorite youtuber, and the most underrated one. I've been watching his videos since his sunshine playthrough, can't believe that was over a decade ago.
I’m from the uk 🇬🇧 and I discovered your channel through xenoblade chronicles and wow your play through of that game blew me away on how hard you worked and since then been a big fan and a friend you never met lol
Chugga’s xenoblade LP is probably one of the greatest creations on UA-cam. The the amount of detail and work was incredible while STILL making an enjoyable let’s play commentary and also pointing out cool details and Easter eggs. That’s how I got introduced to the series and nothing can match the first time I watched that games story it was incredible
Wow, I’ve had a surprisingly similar experience. It began in December 2017, I managed to catch both the flu, a sore throat, an unknown flu-like illness, and a completely unidentified viral infection. All at the same time. It was unidentified for a while, but then it triggered both Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Bell’s Palsy, and I got rushed to the hospital as my mum thought I was having a stroke. 3 days in hospital later, I was allowed to go home, and then 4 weeks of antibiotics and steroids later I was done with the main infections. 3 months of weekly blood tests later I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and my Bell’s Palsy was identified as an incredibly rare form which had different effects on different parts of my face. I got over it for a while, but now it’s back, however it’s a minor inconvenience mostly. The CFS is much worse, and varies greatly, between making me more tired than normal with minor muscle fatigue and making me unable to walk more than a few steps without collapsing, while sleeping 20-22 hours a day. It until took 6 months after the initial onset and hospital stay for it to become manageable, there were at least 2 months where I couldn’t leave the house at all, aside from hospital visits for blood tests which would nearly kill me some days, and I had to spend the rest of the year on a part time school schedule. Luckily, I live in the UK. If I didn’t, my family would be in debt for the rest of my life just to pay off the amount of blood tests. The combined value of my house and all my possessions is less than if would’ve costed to pay for the appointments. I can’t imagine how bad a health problem like that would be for an American like you.
How everyone was still there after he was gone for those 2 months proves just how much support he really does have. Some youtubers have much more subscribers than him, but they can go on a hiatus like he did and many can lose interest. It wasn't like that for Emile, however.
Jesus I can't imagine how bad that was. Even a fungus outer ear infection I had for a few weeks which was one of the most painful things I felt would pale in comparison. Chugga's strong and the best.
Emile is just such an angel. He’s literally the only UA-camr I’m subscribed to that I will watch any video he uploads. Even if it’s a game I don’t like it plan on buying to play, I could watch him play anything and find it enjoyable. I wish he had a better immune system because he doesn’t deserve any illness.
Dang.... Man Chugga you suffered regardless glad you still well and much please take very good care of yourself you have become a part of my life in youtube to which i enjoy your contents gameplays let's plays and bit of times puns. If ever sick please put yourself up first priority and make videos later date till your all good in health always.
I get the feeling it wouldn't be as happy as everyone thinks it'd be. Emile's been through a lot, it amazes me how he's still so upbeat after everything.
I don't like the hiatuses because it's incredibly common for people to get sick or have some serious illnesses. I'm glad that he's willing or wants to see what his fans are but I'm really concerned about Chuggaa's health or anyone's health when they go to a con. Seriously, does no one wash their hands at these things?
It was 2014 when he did for to the 2nd to final area of Xenoblade Chronicles. I remember that we were all scared and prayed that he would fight it, to be around longer or even to hear his puns. I prayed cause he is like a brother that is very funny with puns. I prayed cause I don't want to lose the best UA-camr. He inspired me to live in my game days if Ōkami and Pokemon even Pikmin.
His Pikmin and Pikmin 2 LPs were cornerstones of my childhood and have very fond memories of watching them. I was very sad to hear that he was going through this at a time I didn't even know it was happening. I wish I could have wished him a quick recovery at the time but I was in 4th grade and didn't understand what insurance or ear infections were. Chuggaconroy is one of my favorite UA-camrs, and I feel about him the same way I feel about Markiplier, in that he has gone through many hardships but always maintains positivity and is able to cultivate that positivity in his viewers.
I love that Emile is so dedicated that he doesn't willingly take breaks, but also that we as a fanbase are actively telling him to take breaks. He really has formed a community.
I distinctly remember people in Chugga's community came together during this difficult time to support him in any way possible. At the time I did not have any money to give him, but for people like me, we decided that we'd find one of his Let's Plays and binge watch all the videos in the playlist while watching all the ads to the full length (within reason, as this was during the time YT had hour-long ads) to send as much ad revenue to him as possible. For me, I chose to watch his LP of Majora's Mask, a game I had no interest in at the time, but it was of decent length and looked at least mildly entertaining (someone else I knew chose Okami, ouch). But by the end of watching his series, I had become a fan of that game, and I picked up Majora's Mask 3D soon after to play it for myself. Even while very sick, Chugga showed me a great new game for me to play that I ended up loving so much. Thank you so much, Chugga!
I was scared when he didn’t upload for 2 months. I was wondering what happen to my favorite youtuber and so relieved when he came back. That’s why when he retires, I’ll give the biggest salute to this man.
the worst thing i've ever had was Bell's palsy, i've had it 4 times, first time when i was like 10, second time in my sophomore year, third time was in 2013 and the fourth time is current.

Warrior of Fire I didn’t see any of that. Thankfully most of his fanbase is incredibly non-toxic.
When he posted about this on his Twitter and Facebook I was so worried about him. I kept watching his past videos and would comment on his Facebook when I saw an update. When he seemed better, it was a relief, since his health means a lot to me. I've never met Emile. I want to someday, but his health is more important then new videos.
At least Emile respects his viewers, most youtubers wouldn’t care about how their viewers feel when they go but he does care, he’s very honest and lovely towards the people that also respect him
Just another reason why he is the best youtuber
Chugga is like an older brother to me he always cheered me up when I was depressed and he makes me laugh
I was only 10 or so when this happened, and I remember multiple nights that I would just cry because I was so worried. It's crazy to me that it's been so long since he got better, because I still remember so vividly worrying about the health of someone I didn't know.
I couldn't take the flu
Much less an ear infection
What a trooper 😌
HE SAID THE WORD.
you mean steve
just like steve
Ear infections suck. I haven't had one get that bad, but they still are an annoying thing to go through
STEEB THE DROOPER
That sucks. :( (Also, now I get why the only political comments I've ever heard Emile make are about the lack of free health care in the US.)
If you watch StephenVlog when he went to hospital he described his experience similar to Emiles. Sounds like at the very least the Carolinas and Georgia have doctors who give rrally bad advice
Health care/insurance is disgusting in the US. I have epilepsy, and it costs 6,000 for 90 days for pills w/o insurance. -_-
@@diane3982 and yet nearly every European and most Asian countries have free or very little health costs. Obama had the chance, Trump won't... I just hope your next President sees the light
@@diane3982 Then you should try to look for a good health insurance plan. If you can
+Amazingly Awkward
...and with “free” health care comes a sharp drop in quality, extremely long wait times that can last for months, overcrowded hospitals, premature discharges, under paid yet over burdened doctors, and a system that is completely controlled by the government, which has led to the death of an infant in the UK who probably could’ve been saved in the US if the EU didn’t order for the child to die.
If there's one UA-camr I want to hug more than anything, it's Chugga.
XD
Unlimated_Luck 1
His videos also helped me through a similar experience, but for me it was during his Pokémon platinum playthrough
Lord Fishron Was it cus you kept getting defeated by random terrarians? (Im making a pun on your profile name, no offense.)
Unlimated_Luck 1
Probably XP
Literal childhood hero, i would always check his channel everyday as a kid to see if he uploaded
I remember when this happened during his hiatus I found a copy of Xenoblade at my local game stop so that definitely kept my interest besides the fact that I love this channel
This brings back horrible memories. I’m glad I have closure on what happened during that break.
F
You should go back and finish it. Really. It’s worth it.
EMILE NEEDS HUGS GIVE HIM HUGS
*hugs*
Oh a terraria fan
Wasn’t expecting that
CHUGGAACONROY NEEDS A HUGGAACONROY!!!!!
Emile our little UA-cam angel
I was so worried for him when he got sick during that time. A lot of us was worried poor guy was really down and sick. I hope he gets well and stays healthy.
This young man is really amazing, he handles both his own channel, TRG and more
I highly recommend watching LaughingBoyLP’s Chugga series. I learned so much about Emile through it.
I've been watching his stuff for so long, he inspired me to start playing animal crossing and to just generally play more video games. He's one of my all time favourite youtubers I appreciate him a lot
That sounds awful. Especially with that bad medical advice making it worse. Glad that was years ago and that he's better now.
I actually remember that. I fell in love with Xenoblade when watching his playthrough of it and it helped releive the stress I had for moving across the country. I found his channel and started binging until when he was on hiatus. Ever since i have watched his playthroughs.
All right, time for my Test - new ChuggaCompletion video? Pfft, who needs an education?
Me rn
This is educational though... it teaches people to not trust their doctors every time and to get multiple check ups from certified doctors. I guess....
I hope Emile has read some of these top comments, it’s really nice to see non toxic UA-cam comments about a UA-camr
Chuggaaconroy has his own Wikipedia page. IMPRESIVE. Nice going Emiliano you earned yourself a wiki page
Such a dedicated man. Wish he had more subcribers and viewers, because he deserves it!
I’ve been watching since 2008. Still the best let’s player I’ve ever watched, and still the same funny, kind person behind the screen.
Just keep on chugging on, Chuggaa. You beautiful man, you~
I’m from the uk 🇬🇧 and I discovered your channel through xenoblade chronicles and wow your play through of that game blew me away on how hard you worked and since then been a big fan and a friend you never met lol
Emile is a really inspiring person
The only video that has no dislikes.
Oh, Chugga, don't push yourself too hard.
Let’s find the 6 that disliked it and beat them up >:(
Those 10 dislikes are sensitive niggas
Dang.... Man Chugga you suffered regardless glad you still well and much please take very good care of yourself you have become a part of my life in youtube to which i enjoy your contents gameplays let's plays and bit of times puns.
If ever sick please put yourself up first priority and make videos later date till your all good in health always.
Chuggaaconroy is a youtube legend.
Ok can we have a chugga draw my life?
preach
Chuggaaconroy uses game footage to represent his life at 5M Subscibers!
I get the feeling it wouldn't be as happy as everyone thinks it'd be. Emile's been through a lot, it amazes me how he's still so upbeat after everything.
Vinny Emile is On the same level as Bob Ross when it comes to friendliness and kindness
I remember this whole 2014 incident. Sad times, but I'm glad everything worked out.
When I found chugga’s channel I imagined him looking like an irl version of Barry from Pokémon DPP
Emile is just the best. He is so wholesome and dedicated to his work. 😊❤❤❤❤
Probably some combination of that and the sheer volume of human mass at every con.
@@Warrior_of_Fire I'm assuming food too and maybe water
I remember those times so well, really felt for Chugga and what he was going through glad he made it out ok in the end
Man I heard about his illness back then..I was really frightened about it, but I'm glad he survived all odds, let's hope it will NEVER happen again.
All time favorite UA-camr.
Poor Chuggaaconroy...I feel like giving a hug right now 😀
I remember I stopped watching it when the break happened and picked it back up last year. Don't regret it.
Awesome video and keep up the good work and I know how you feel right now but we can get through this no matter what
Chuggaa is the ultimate chad gamer and I want to give him a hug
i haven’t watched him since he uploaded his kid icarus uprising gameplay and i’m glad i returned
We need to protect this wholesome boy!
I was scared when he didn’t upload for 2 months. I was wondering what happen to my favorite youtuber and so relieved when he came back.
That’s why when he retires, I’ll give the biggest salute to this man.

This is the unluckyest Emile has ever been. Hope this never happens to you, or anyone ever.(Unless they deserve it)
What does deserve it entail
For every good luck he has in game he has bad luck irl. 0. O

so he DID get sick and have to take a break! Omg I thought I had made it up ;0;

It would be awsome.
