With the widespread outbreak of the Zika virus, there have been reports of an increased number of people who have been infected with Zika virus who also have GBS. My legs are weak p Covid 19 sx, DTR's were 3+, now absent bilat., Primary care tells me to go to ED where $$$$$ will be extracted from Medicare and me before I can see a Neurologist for a clinical diagnosis and treatment to prevent my life from being ruined. Great system we have in the US.

AIDP- Acute Inflammatory Demyelinating PolyRadiculoNeuropathy- indicates a specific disease, e.g. GBS;
AIDP - Acute Inflammatory Demyelinating PolyNeuropathy - Indicates any Polyneuropathy including GBS; it's a Umbrella term. PolyRadiculoNeuropathy involves Spinal nerve roots that rises CSF proteins; however, PolyNeuropathies do not Involves Spinal nerve roots and don't rise CSF proteins.
I wonder mixing terminology or interchanging between are confusing.
I truly appreciate your efforts putting complex info together that digestible one.
