Searching them up to find out their drummer is the vocalist was the cherry on top
Super badass
Fr
Omg stfu I been listening to them since I was in highschool and today's mother's day and my baby mommas acting like a bitch so I wanted to see how dystopia was live wow mind blown
Both drummer and guitarist do vocals, cheers bruv. Y'all be well.
yeah man Dino is a fucking beast
Meanwhile 4 year old me was at home all the way in Florida playing my GameCube unaware of this great band
Bruh i was barely 7 months old :(
Meanwhile I was a year off being born
Me just being born awaiting my moms blessing that was : dystopia
@@selfloathe4940 damn kinda cool to see younger people digging this old band 😌
Phucken same
I got to see Dystopia live in OKC in either late 1998 or early 1999. My old ass has seen hundreds of shows in my life but Dystopia tops the list for so many reasons. Just one reason, you ask? Well rumors of Dino being sick were circulating in the crowd as the opening bands played so everyone was unsure if Dystopia would even play. They did, and Dino was an absolute demon, he gave off no indication at all that he was in the midst of a brutal fevered delirium until halfway through Backstabber he leaps up from his drumset, the music stops, he runs to the side of the stage and spews the most insane horror movie style projection vomit I've ever seen, then runs back to his drums, clicks his sticks 4 times, and the entire band resumes RIGHT where they left off. I think I fucking cried at how amazing that entire show was. Their energy turned the crowd into total mayhem. No cameras, no iPhone screens, no distractions. I've never left a concert feeling so inspired as I did that night.
I wish I was alive to see them live
thats so awesome lmfao, damn that sounds so cool tho
Don't care
@@avery_cate "hey guys I just showed up here to tell you that I'm not really here"
Ay, which venue did they play at in okc??
"play anything by Dystopia!"
Haha I bought 2 Dystopia CDs of you guys
Oh hi dad
@sonnyDee working on it, cheers!
This show probably smelled gnarly
The smell of pure Za
“humans don’t die off we fucking multiply”
fucking chills oh my god
HOLY SHIT I HAVE THE SAME NAME AS YOU
10:30
I read that while hearing it
@@Sinxytlol3lmao same, nice
Man if this band reunited,...
that'd be a dream come true.
@illadelph archives90s naw dude, that shits forever
tell me abt it
Im happy I even found them. Proof that punk doesn't die, it's always dead 🤘
Also, Dystopia released a song yesterday, April 24th. Very different, emorap warning
@@kurt1736 man,, yo my hopes were up.. i looked for a while, found no new dystopia song.. ;(
at 23:00 "PLAY DOPESMOKER" we got a sleep fan lol
U can see the energy that was created by them, the whole crowd is into it, screaming the lryics back at them, that’s what music is all about
the eneegy created by them?
@@somenothing7914 of course seeing this now how fucked up
I spelt it🤣 just changed for an easier reading
@@somenothing7914 you knew what they meant shithead
Dystopia was such a fucking masterpiece of a band too bad we won’t ever get to see them again
What happened?
@@maxdamenace they broke up
@@sustaita5563 I know that but I was asking like why did they break up
@@maxdamenace Honestly I don’t even know, I know that Dino said in a interview they broke up at the best time they could’ve, now Dino is in the noothgrush band. Also Dino stated that he wasn’t gonna regroup with dystopia again because it will bring back his feelings and mess him over again.
@@maxdamenace honestly crazy how Dino is still rocking at age 51
YO that’s me standing on stage just left of where it says SERV. Wearing a black thrasher hoody shaved head... best band ever! This video is no comparison to being there live!!!
joshgallman1 Sick
joshgallman1 I was right next to the cameraman! What a great fucking show. Brain Oil opened for them if I remember correctly. I remember it being so packed that they had to start turning people away at the door and the air was so thick with smoke that my straightedge buddy wouldn't stop whining the whole night. There were people who flew in from Japan to watch this.
Ramon W Dystopia and Brainoil at the same fucking show?? Holy shit dude that sounds sick!
@@ramonw9430 love brainoil, so jealous you saw them open up for these guys. Saw brainoil, the shrine and ghoul last time i was at gilman. Long live tankcrimes
This band defines why the underground is where the art lives. In their short tenure, the roots are still vibrating beneath our feet. The thrust of good art is to tell something of the truth about human beings, and this band delivers in kind. That is all.
Plus, unlike most other bands from this genre, Dystopia spoke to everyone regardless of subculture. I've known goths, industrial kids, metalhead, hiphop fanatics, who all love Dystopia. I once saw.a local blues show with my gf's older brother and during soundcheck the guitarist started doing the "Stress Builds Character" bass line over and over, and then someone randomly from the back of the crowd screams "I need a raise man!" I was like holy shit, old heads at a blues show know Dystopia? Really punctuated just how much people appreciated this band because that's a true sign a band is actually saying something that makes others listen up.
@@SS-gx7tgi cant live on this pay anymore!! 😂 hahaha thats fcking awesome man
newgens love this shit too, i started listening to dystopia more seriously once a couple of memes about them started popping up on tiktok, now i cant get enough
the band im forming rn with my friends is also gonna be very influenced by them, hope i can get some people into dystopia in my city

Glad yer here now. The 90s were fucking lit
@@blackwindsignomancy8429 this 2002
@@iznxan yeah. I know but that was there first time playing since the mid 90s which is when they were most active. I meant generally
Man.. I remember being 12 passing by this club.. it looked out of this world lol.
i would pass up some of the most legendary shows from the most revered bands to be at this exact show. these guys truly captured the brutal truth of all things bad vibes and everyone in the crowd can relate
Same. Dystopia, and similarly Electric Wizard, both give me that innate feeling.
dino was such a good drummer holy fuck
He still a great drummer/singer.
Is? He isn’t dead. He still is.
He still drums bro
He was speaking in past tense in referral to the time this video was recorded, not that deep yall need to relax
Sometimes I wonder about his equals... rich hoak... flo mournier...
this band is such a fucking legend. if more people knew of them they'd be huge... they're too fucking good
I heard them all the way over in Toronto in 2000... Anger bbd... it's my least favourite dystopa song lol, it has no groove
Woah, I was at this show. Remember it vividly. Afterwards went to 'the compound' & after-partied w/ Dino & band, etc.
Oh to be young again...
17 years ago, holy cow
The way crowd screams back the lyrics during Backstabber warms my heart
Drummer absolutely KILLED it
can only imagine the smell
😋
lol shut up
weed & sweat
Yeah I was there for sure.It smelled like armpits and patchouli.
Best Boiler Room set in history!
I still get fucking chills when I hear the bass line from hands that mold start
It's a rare occasion where I gotta just make a statement. That would be how amazing this soooo underrated band was/hopefully still is... This is just the most brutal shit I know of after yrs of loving all that is heavy! Yes!!
Not the epitome of brutal or heavy, but definitely it's a tasty brutal stuff
Pure condensed wrath x10
As long as I can listen, I'm happy
the best
Agreed
but yeah this shit is vicious,, & ultra nasty sounding. they really accomplished a feat with this band
Where are they when we need them the most 🙁
New Dystopia song came out yesterday
Kurt no shit how can I find it I looked up on UA-cam couldn’t find anything gonna look on internet now
@@dogfrosinos70 1-800 Luv w/ StarStruckLeo. On spotify I found it, be warned though... it is not this...
@@dogfrosinos70 also you can find it on Dystopia - Topic UA-cam page. It be emorap my boi
*only 21 views at the moment, so probably was hard to find without the track name
*I also can't believe it's them. Feeling like spotify and UA-cam fucked up.
Kurt I think ik what you’re talking about there’s some like edm shit I found under their name o think it’s just a Spotify glitch
it's actually super endearing that the crowd so actively remembers all the words nd r being hype abt the band, but for those few ppl that r just set on screaming a song name, while they're talking.. so fucking annoying, like jeez lol
haha yeah I agree, although the guy who yelled "Play Dopesmoker!" gets a pass from me
its all cool honestly, i love the ppl that are rlly screaming lol,, but while theyr talking? smh
the dude that really wanted to hear tase your own medicine is cracking me up ngl
shits probably really annoying as a musician but super flattering as well
Discovering this band late and finding this footage. Makes me feel like I found their music, while exploring the Lost City of Atlantis. Masterpiece of a band that few know of today. It also makes me very sad to have missed out on the live performances.
41:24 unreleased track with 'now and forever' parts,, shits sick
It's interesting hearing a band you loves creative process in the works like that

such a good and solid drummer, and he sings well doing it 👏
1980's - Hanging at Alan's house and Todd's. Colima Street Posse! Fuck yeah! Cheap ass beer and Todd's amazing vegan food. Good times!!!
what city ?
#1 band ever.
that one guy wouldn’t get sick of saying taste your own medicine
that high hat is gettin' a poundin'
Still the greatest!!
i was at this show! my first time at gilman.
no one has TRULY tried to truly replicate their sound still
that means alot
yeah nothing sounds like them for sure
im making some music atm which is kinda ripping them off but i would never intentionally try to sound like them (like in a worship band kind of way) bc this shit is just irreplaceable. bc dystopia wasnt just about the sound it was about these 3 guys who actually had something to say
and when they had nothing left to say they dipped...
I was there! Good times
Man I hate that I was too young to be around for this. I would’ve driven cross country to see these guys and here in the comments I hear they toured Oklahoma (my state). Goddamnit what an absolute legacy they left. All of their work is fucking untouchable it’s perfect. This is the type of band I wanna be in. I’m gonna write better because of this band. Fuckin love Dino and his playing. I wish to god this band would resurface again even though I know they won’t.
i was there! it was awesome
i would kill to go back in time and go to this exact show. fucking brutal
Saw this tour in Portland and Seattle. Fucking legendary
i will forever be mad at my parents for not exsisting long enough to birth me at a time that i could see this
This era was so much fun... I mean just look, pure energy from both fans and band, and no one's holding a smart phone or vaping 🎯
Where vapes even a thing 10 years ago??😭
This is fuvking crazy I’m so salty I missed out on this
as a brazillian who was -3 years old when this happened i too am beyond salty
HAIL DYSTOPIA!!!!!!!!!!!

I slept on this band too long but they're truly timeless as fuck.
my thoughts exactly. fucking awesome, so cool to see all the fans in the recording singing along as well
I can smell this gig
They had no fuckin idea how lucky they were
Actually on second thought to be honest they sound pretty happy to be there
they had no idea these mfs were about to break up and STILL the energy was crazy. gotta love the dystopia fanbase
