It's like two salesman having researched and developed the same product, they both make powerpoint pitches to each other and end up buying each others products. Hand shakes and "well done gentleman, well done indeed!"

Very cool to see a 0-0-0 game by both players. I was impressed when you gave back the pawn rather than doing something risky.
After 50 years away from chess I recently started playing computers as a way of exercising my aging mind and your vids have been very helpful and entertaining so thanks! Initially I was blundering left and right but yesterday I surprised myself by playing a 0-0-0 game on lichess level 5 with 98% accuracy so it looks like watching your vids has paid off. I guess it's time to bump up to level 6 and let it kick my ass again lol.

"Schlächter" is the german word for "Butcher". Not sure if that's what the "Schlechter variation" is named after but just a little trivia to start the recap with.
Edit: I understand that "Schlechter" was a famous chess player. I was never trying to act like the opening was named after the german word for butcher, in fact i even _said_ that i don't know if they're related. It was simply something that popped into my head when eric said the name of the opening, so no need for any more "corrections". I'm german myself so i know what schlechter or schlächter means.

When the Chess Mood courses were free before I was a little bit disappointed, because altho I was still following your (amazing) content, my interest in chess had waned and I'd stopped playing. I am now playing again, and it's not mentioned in this video but the courses are free again until the end of this month!

I played some perfect chess in my last tournament and got fair-play checked with the metal/transmission detectors right after the game, it felt nice.. 43 moves 100% accuracy 5 average centipawn loss haha and well i had at least 90% every game, half of them 95+, can't complain but toward the end i wasn't feeling so well and in the last 24 hours i've puked 25 times so ig that's my excuse for not winning the thing, thx for uploading, even though i'm kinda sick of chess for now haha

Eric, this should not be a cause for celebration. You are playing lifeless openings that easily lead to a boring draw and I don't see the point. It's not particularly interesting to your twitch or youtube viewers. It might work against some GMs who could be tempted to play rash moves to beat you, but that's about the only situation. You'll maintain your 2300 ELO rating, but that's about it. Don't you want more?
Your opponent played the French Defence, so play a mainline variation - there will be tons of opportunities to win (or lose) the game. Please please - ditch your opening philosophy and try to create some more dynamic situations.
