It always seemed weird to me that a player with Højlunds qualities (blistering pace, and great physique) was used almost like a false 9, instead of an actual striker. He never really got to take a run in behind, or get the ball and take a man on (and the few times he did he either scored or we got a corner from it). Im not really into all the analytical things myself, but this video really puts the feelings me, and probably alot of other united fans, have had about Højlund into words. He is clearly a great striker, we've seen what he was capable of at Atalanta and Denmark, where he is/was used very differently to how ETH used him. Im not sure about 20+ league goals or whatever, but he could become a great forward for united in years to come. Keep up the good work, great video man.

Amorims arrival also probably means that Varnacho will have to improve his dribbling and decision making. All he does is run quickly and shoot , does not look to assist or dribble past his man
United have tried using Hojlund as a target man number 10. Effectively, the Fellaini role from Moyes' United only without any of the supportive players around him.

That's a big reason man utd aren't scoring enough goals the loading of the box in the final third has been really poor and in the bigger games where its harder to have control of the ball and slow it down. They've either had too many runners or two few for the transitions. Having Rashford as that creator has worked really well but Garnacho keeps taking too many shots from wide angles and more importantly Holand is the only person in the front 3 that makes the correct run in the box.
I'm no United fan but it's a shame how ETH used Hojlund, yet you have people saying he's a 'flop/not very good' when in reality neither of those claims are very fair. The bloke is starved of any service in a system that lacks identity, maybe Amorim can get the best out of him.
Hojlund has a lot of potential but he is living off scraps, Garnacho and Rashford want to score not assist. I think Garnacho can change his game because he’s young but Rashford has proven to be selfish and want to cut inside to shoot. Hopefully we can get the best out of Rasmus with the new system
Mmm sure he could, but people just seems to have not undesrtood that Amorim isnt the one primarily responsible for Gyöekres turning into the player he is now. Mark Robbins is
Getting united wingers to play for a striker might as well be the 13th labour of Hercules , the all think they are prime CR7 but are in fact closer to Kieran Richardson
Hojlund is a proper striker. United just don't have a clue how to feed a proper striker anymore. Everyone wants to run solo, cut in and shoot from 25 yards
All of this is the main reason Ten Hag failed. It's as if he wanted a false 9 to feed the wide men rather than providing the best finisher in the squad with the chances.
hojlund can't hold the ball up to save his life mate. he gets bullied off the ball way too easily. Hes nippy, a willing runner and his goals to chances ratio is quite high.
I have been saying it for a year now, Hojlund absolutely needs help. The only thing he has been doing consistently is fighting and engaging physical contact with defenders, which is just too horrible because he is making 50% of the defenders' job easier. Didn't like that at all
Look, I just want United to stop being selfish in the final third. I want Amorim to take Garna, Diallo and Rashford, I want him to tell them if they do not pass to Højlund and he doesn’t at least get 4 shots a game, they will never play for the club again. I want them to realise that the striker is there to win you games and their own goals will come. Højlund finished with I believe 16-17 goals last season, whilst having the lowest shots on goal, the least received passes out of any striker in the prem and he was the most clinical in front of goal as anyone in the league. No I think this adversity has strengthened him but ffs it’s time to unleash the beast. Under Amorim I believe he can at least be a 25+ goals a season striker in the league, easily. I believe he can have over 40 goals in all competitions. It might not happen this year but maybe next year. I just want him to hit 20+ goals in all comps this season. He is 21, he has enough time. We don’t need a striker that is more experienced, we just need Zirkzee to bring his level up and we need to start feeding our own Scandinavian monster in front of goal. I was ecstatic when Højlund came to United because you can see the potential for a proper player in him. I’m so upset in most games because I have been watching just him to see why he isn’t getting goals and you are completely right. No one looks for him, he has to either do all the work for his own goals or RIP. Because Bruno looks for the wingers, the wingers are selfish, the fullbacks never put crosses in. It’s infuriating and I can just imagine how Højlund feels about it. I hope Amorim can fix United but he needs time. People can’t expect this to be an easy fix and whoo we win titles again.
How much research did you do wrt sporting? Just curious because you’re pronouncing Gyökeres wrong. All you have to do is watch the match as they names the starting line up and you’d have it
Hey James, great job on the Premier League channel 🔥 It's not easy to put out constant top quality content Hopefully Amorim is able to bring the best of Hojlund, quite honestly both their ceilings are really high
I've seen hojlund at united long enough to know for sure he won't. His positioning as a striker is awful and as much as people said he just didn't get the service enough, how can your midfielders help you if you don't even know how to make runs and where to place yourself in the box
Oh my goodness. Why can’t United fans be rational a bit. Rashford and Hojlund are both suffering from this current system. It’s Garnacho getting all the chances. Why do y’all hate Rashford so much? Why? Rashford doesn’t even shoot the ball anymore. He’s literally playing RB.
It's been obvious we aren't playing to the strengths of Højlund. I think he thrives on passes into space and deliveries into the box. But instead he's asked to drop for link-up, with Garnacho & Rashford running in behind, and inverted wingers who prefer to dribble and shoot rather than look for a cross or cutback. I think we need wing-backs who can either deliver a cross like a Grimaldo/Trent, or who can beat their man and pull the ball back. Shaw can deliver a decent cross, Dalot has the ability to go on the outside and cross - but we can probably improve here. I still think Bruno keeps his place as one of the attacking midfielders. He can play those passes through for Højlund, he offers a goal threat in & around the box, and if needed he can drop in and put in a shift defensively. The other player probably needs more mobility, more of a ball carrier - possibly Garnacho, Amad or Mount. What do you think about Rashford at ST? He'll struggle if he becomes isolated against physical defenders, having to deal with high, long passes with his back to goal. But in games with lots of space in behind, if we can play balls in behind or into the channels for him to run onto, he might find some joy. Have him playing on the last defender, stretching teams and pushing the defensive line back, and allow the two attacking midfielders space to operate in. He could potentially be a rotation option for Højlund. He just doesn't have the physicality to bump, hold off and roll defenders - he needs passes into space rather than directly into his feet/body.
It makes sense more mow Gyokeres scores hatrick against man city
the moment i snapped is when hojlund got subbed off and the type of pass he was looking for all game went to zirkzee

Just drop Rashford then
Yea I think it’s pretty obvious that if Hojlund gets chances he will score. Has a great shot and composure
Always said hojlund was a good punt at 35m, very raw risk but ok at a good price
Mmm sure he could, but people just seems to have not undesrtood that Amorim isnt the one primarily responsible for Gyöekres turning into the player he is now. Mark Robbins is
at 3:35 why hojlund passes to that player and not to casimiro and then make the run?
Every time I watch one of your utd videos I get excited and every time they let me down. Hope you're right this time James 🙏
I believe in Gyokeres. That’s all I know
Getting united wingers to play for a striker might as well be the 13th labour of Hercules , the all think they are prime CR7 but are in fact closer to Kieran Richardson
He doesn't really need to do anything, just needs bruno to stop the superhero passes then we'll see
Real Madrid need Bruno super hero passes kind of guy, so if it going to be win win if there's such interest
I can’t help but imagine the players have been doing nothing but binging Sporting matches in their leisure time.
distances......that's my biggest problem with united
It’s like ETH created a system that got the best out of absolutely none of our players
Top video
Hojlund is a proper striker. United just don't have a clue how to feed a proper striker anymore. Everyone wants to run solo, cut in and shoot from 25 yards
You might be onto something! Exciting times, especially after seeing Sporting defeat Man City 4-1.
All of this is the main reason Ten Hag failed. It's as if he wanted a false 9 to feed the wide men rather than providing the best finisher in the squad with the chances.
This isn’t career mode james 😅
hojlund can't hold the ball up to save his life mate. he gets bullied off the ball way too easily. Hes nippy, a willing runner and his goals to chances ratio is quite high.
If United score 20 goals under Amorin it will be a success
It has frustrated me since he joined he gets the ball so rarely and the team isn't focused on trying to get the moat out of him
I have been saying it for a year now, Hojlund absolutely needs help. The only thing he has been doing consistently is fighting and engaging physical contact with defenders, which is just too horrible because he is making 50% of the defenders' job easier. Didn't like that at all
People don't understand Sporting striker Goku has always been a good striker he was just unknown.
Bro knows Amorim’s plan for Hojlund even before Amorim
First few examples of united weren't the best but good video overall
to score 20+ goals he needs to be fit and not injured
In how many seasons…?!
Hojlund cannot play with Rashford. Unless they are both strikers. If Rashford is asked to create for him it will not work
He needs some extra gym time as well, so he can carry two defenders who had extra gym time on his shoulders
Just support that guy! I mean Amorim.... what the hell you know what you are talking? can you give him a chance?
But honestly though the confirmation bias here is hilarous man, you hand picked clips that suited your pint for both players. lmao
Inject me with that sweet hope jimbo boy
Can Zirkzee thrive under Amorim?
20 goals in the league or all comps?
You already know Amorim's plans for hojlund.. even before he joined.. 😂😂😂
This shows how bad Garnacho’s decision making is. He needs to up his football IQ
73m academy striker
😅
Amorim paying this month's rent. 😂
How much research did you do wrt sporting?
Just curious because you’re pronouncing Gyökeres wrong.
All you have to do is watch the match as they names the starting line up and you’d have it
Only time will tell, I'm not sure Hojlund is good enough to score a lot of goals he needs 20 plus just in the league.
Gyrokes wasn’t good enough at the same age Rasmus is rn and at that is age Rasmus is the far better player.
He scored 16 last season off scraps
Plan on making a non man united video sometime?
His plan: replace soon as possible😂
from league we alr know mate.
Hey James, great job on the Premier League channel 🔥
It's not easy to put out constant top quality content
Hopefully Amorim is able to bring the best of Hojlund, quite honestly both their ceilings are really high
I've seen hojlund at united long enough to know for sure he won't. His positioning as a striker is awful and as much as people said he just didn't get the service enough, how can your midfielders help you if you don't even know how to make runs and where to place yourself in the box
That's right, it's ok for this lot to dream but dreams are not reality.
true
All because all these managers have been told to get the best out of Rashford but rashford cant play up front. Its a joke.
Here. Take my view. Take my comment. I hope you're wrong
He not been fed the ball enough he can't score if he not been fed the ball
If I see one more analysis from the West Ham game 🙄
Garanacho is main concern he never pass the ball at quarter he us selfish he doesn't know the role of wingers
gyokeres is simply better ngl
