I am holding my son,
my only son.
And I often don’t know how to use my time while I hold him,
confined to a chair in a dark, quiet environment.
-
He still has a hard time sleeping apart from me or my wife.
He is dependent on us.
And now this is a reminder: what good does it do to listlessly scroll youtube to pass the time until I can finally eat my dinner?
How could I care more about my own appetite than my son’s sleep?
-
But now,
I remember:
how can I spend my time while I hold him when he cannot sleep?
Communion.
Thank you Jesus,
for there is nothing better.
