Using A Cassette Recorder As A Tape Delay (Marantz PMD-221)

- An old three-head cassette recorder, along with just being a cool piece of technology, can find new use as a tape delay! It's not the most intuitive or straightforward method for creating an echo or delay effect, but it does have a nice, warm result. If you'd like to download Varispeed, the tape echo plugin that I mention in the video, you can find it here: www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=s...

Just found this marantz 221 at my uncles place, very cool seeing what you can do with it
Really cool sound Josh, actually sounds better than an actual Pedal that’s made to give that particular sound, (at least I thought so)
Funny my name is also Josh and I have the same marantz and the same Casio mt which I love because one effects pedal and you have every one’s attention. Casio is way underrated
Hey.. I love these casio keyboards myself ... nice demo cheers!
I’ve watched a number of your vids over a period of time… you do a good job. Subbed.
Nice to hear delay done this way. It seemed appropriate to use a classic Casio, too.
If I'm gonna go through the trouble of setting up all that stuff, I've gotta demo it with the single greatest synth ever created.
Move over, Moog! 😄
This is so interesting 🤔 when can I spend an afternoon having coffee next to that setup ? Haha I wanna talk casette 😲
Hell yeah, coffee and cassette.
I've a PMD430 and never considered that I could use it as a reverb until now, cool! I'd also be tempted to use garbage tapes with damages to their surface for added realistic grunge and character.
gundam!!
hey is the line in and line out mini trs?
Huge videogame water level vibes, whats the model name on that Casio?
Sounds so 80ish...like in the old sci fi movies.....cool....
Josh, totally random question but: did you upgrade your Prologue 8 to a 16 recently?
I was watching a few videos back and thought homegirl looked thiccer.
Awesome sounds as always, btw.
Thanks! And I haven't upgraded, must just be the camera adding ten pounds. 😉
