I received my Shsrk Diver today. I spent sometime removing a link, it really requires a second set of hands to resize. This is the heaviest watch I have ever owned. High quality timepiece.
I just received my Helson Shark Diver 40 miyota 9015. LOVE IT. I had the sharks diver 38 SS but I felt too small for my 7.25" wrist. I had to take out 2 links. As Rob said get 2 small flat head screwdrivers. MY screws were not tight...so Helson must be listening regarding locktite. I got 15% off with special they were running to June 28th. They over night it via FedEx...ive NEVER experienced that before.
All I can say is I’m HOOKED on the Helson. I love my Shark Diver 45 and I’ve got my eye now on the carbon fiber version also in 45. Wears GREAT on my wrist.
I love those Helson divers a lot! Especially the Shark Diver since it's an original Helson design and not an homage. I always prefer original design over homage all day long. Those Helson SD's are the perfect tool watches and look like they are built like a tank! I want one with an ETA movement inside!
I bought the big huge monstrous one. Love it. I'm a Helson fan, but I don't see owning any more than just one of them. Just took delivery today of a citizen titanium orca, so there's a new fave on wrist regardless!
Very nice watch at a perfect size. Those dimensions are right on. I did order the Squale 20 atmos from Gnomon over this watch as its $570 and has the ETA movement and has some great heritage.
Nice look at the stainless Shark Diver, I have the 42mm brass one with the NH35 movement, and it is the most accurate of my other 7 watches with the same movement. If you don’t own a Helson I personally would recommend them.
And you mention the rotor noise, I can hear it in the 45 for sure but I actually like it. And it’s not all the time but kind of cool to hear it. But I can also here my wall clock ticking from the other room so my hearing is a bit better than most in that regard.
Always felt from a number angles, it looks like a blockier modern submariner case. I also no refer this version with the allied indices. I really wished Helson would make all their Shark Diver variations with applied indices. As the other ones are that are just printed, the dial looks a bit too plain and flat and I don't think it looks as good. Otherwise a great and popular design and great value. How's the bezel on this one? I get mixed impressions, although mostly some say it feels a bit stiff and maybe unrefined.. like it doesn't sound or feel that great when turning. It works, but more people seem to say it feels a bit roughm
I have both dials, the printed and the applied markers, the printed is way more bright, this will not be noticed if you use a UV lamp, it is evident when you go from sun exposure to indoor space. I am not saying it is bad but compared to... You notice the difference.
Have to agree 100% on quality vs something like Seiko in the same price range. After owning a Helson my Samurai STO felt cheap and nasty in comparison and i wear the SD x5 more often than the Samurai (both blue dials).
Looks great, never had hands on with one but picked up an NTH Scorpene recently and guess that’s close competition but like the smaller wrist presence (and crazy good lume).
Nice review! Random question: are there any micro brands that use high precision quartz movements? I’m looking for either an everyday watch and/or a dress watch.
Yea me too. At this point I simply want high accuracy time keeping. I know I can get Seiko / Citizen / Bulova high accuracy quartz watches but prefer brands that are not household names. A micro brand with high accuracy quartz options would be awesome. Hey RR, maybe it’s time to make your own watches!

ETA models are awesome, Miyota works fine as well.
Thanks Chris for sending it over and thank you Rob for the great review.
Chris is a good guy for sure

Will have to look at the orca
This watch is amazing. Looks like a mix between a supercase Submariner and an Oris Aquis. This is outstanding value.
The case makes me want it so much
The detail that drives me over the edge
Very nice watch at a perfect size. Those dimensions are right on. I did order the Squale 20 atmos from Gnomon over this watch as its $570 and has the ETA movement and has some great heritage.
Best homage in that price range I think. More true and clean
Making room for the big guy as we speak, thanks for the great review Rob.
Michael Tonge can’t wait to see what you get brother.
Dirk Werning same here man.
The watch seems to be really great, but I would prefer the date window on the three or six position...

Great watches indeed

All just constant reminders that our time is short
Hey Rob, thanks for an awesome review, think I need to add a Helson.
If you can swing it, at some point check them out.
I think I like it because it makes a Submariner look wimpy. Classic good looks. It’s definitely up there.
Working mans tough sub style
Looks like a quality piece! I like the tall bezel.
Helson builds a tight strong watch
Nice watch. Thinking of the yellow dial for something different.
Thanks for all you do for us so much fun watching no pun
Your welcome. Always enjoy posting more vids
Rob you have spoiled us, we now need the reviews done live :-)
Hope to keep the Monday live and maybe sprinkle few more here and there
It must be Goldilocks day on UA-cam! We just reviewed the Goldilocks of IPAs!
Killer watch! And as usual, killer review. 👍🏻
I will have to watch that one. I do like a good IPA
Random Rob Hopefully you’ll have a good laugh too! 🤪

The titanium in 40/42 no date would be nice.
I agree. Titanium is nice
The only no date have been the LE with the embossed sharks in the dial... yes they definitely need to embrace No Date
Rob, Between these two watches the Helson Shark Diver or the NTH line... Best Pick...?
Thank you for another great review Rob :)
Too kind sir
i really love Helson
It was hard for me to let it pass by

Very nice watch Rob & good review👍🏼
Thanks Andrew
what a tank! Way awesome
Looks great, never had hands on with one but picked up an NTH Scorpene recently and guess that’s close competition but like the smaller wrist presence (and crazy good lume).
NTH is really good too
Random Rob I know, loving it! Got obsessed after seeing them at an event in London, Chris attended also. Very impressed.
I like the 40mm size!
Agree it’s perfect
Just got one of these, so I’m doing that thing where you watch every vid there is until it gets here...🥴
Your going to love it. I bought one and it quickly became my favorite. Id recommend an isofrane strap its amazing on the Helson.
@@hybridstrength5065 you are so right man...picked up a second one 👍🏼
Is this chunkier than kamasu? I owned kamasu and wish to try helson.
way chunkier but in a good way.
Good review. Definitely great value for price.
Your new Jade monster is killer
@@RandomRobReviews thanks. I really am enjoying it. Wore it all day at work. Definitely a keeper.
So chunky but a nice original design. Good looking but I'd stray towards the Omega homage that Borealis and Helson have made.
Most of the Helson line up is great. Few I am not a fan of
Hey Rob you mind reminding us which screw driver set you bought a while back?
Bergeon probably..

Thanks Rob...and Crazy 88’s too!
Bunburislandia is back!
No idea what that means. But yeah
Is this a Chinese based brand? Anyone have any other brand recommendations for an aggressive tool watch look?
Do you think this one has the same insert as SKX?
Bonito reloj !!! Un abrazo !!!!
Nice review! Random question: are there any micro brands that use high precision quartz movements? I’m looking for either an everyday watch and/or a dress watch.
Can’t thing of any. Would love to see it done

The quality of this looks pretty unreal for the price. Slightly shorter lugs and a dateless version would be awesome.
Date window location seems like an afterthought.
Sometimes the movement used dictates date placement options
Not sure but I heard these are Chinese. Love the looks of it though.
The 42mm looks like it doesn’t have applied markers like this one
1000m watch how much indian price
Helson makes great watches but vertical case brushing, almost square case and a four o’clock date kills it for me.
Would much prefer no date window on this one.
Same here. The date window is in a awkward portion.
Are they worth the $500 ? Seems a lot for what you get / an u known company. Anyone who own one think it’s well worth it?
I have a smaller wrist
Are they iso rated?
They are not.
600usd has a lot of options, Zelos is one of them…
Looks heavy.
The case and bracelet look good, but not sure about the hand set, surely the minute hand shouldn't be thicker than the hour?!
It's a function thing. On a dive watch, it's the minutes that matter.
Very nice watch. But that rotar sound is a big turn off.
Real cheap watches got that sound. :/
Please make 40-42 mm
Helson makes 40 and 42
Indian price
Rob, will this watch be featured in Sunday Funday?
Sorry it’s already gone. No Sunday Funday this week either
